The nurses are mostly wonderful except in icu they can be a little rude. However the hospital is trash it's a money grab. It's dirty I got a staph infection there. Don't go here. read more

Lost my grandmothers hearing aids during the couple days she stayed here Plus now they have been giving us such a hard time replacing them. Every time we follow up they keep saying they're trying to investigate it. I'm not sure what needs to be investigated. Investigate what? More like just dragging your feet. It's that or they don't even return our calls. We keep telling them we need it in a timely manner, as my grandmother is very hard or hearing. But that doesn't matter to them. Instead of taking responsibility they just handed it off to insurance to have them deal with it which will take even longer. On top of that we have to bring my grandmother to the doctor for the hearing aid fittings, it's hard for us to get days off to do that on top of it being hard to transport her. Only reason this place is getting 2 stars is because the people who take care of the patients are really nice and took good care of my grandma. However, management if you are reading this you need to find another job. Overall I do not recommend this place. M read more

My wife had a moderate foot injury over the weekend, and she received excellent care at Seton Medical Center Coastside. The injury was too severe for urgent care, but would have put her at the bottom of the priority list at a major ER, so we were lucky that this happened during our trip to Half Moon Bay (and not back at home in SF) where she could be seen at Seton. Nurse Corazon and Dr. Goodman took excellent care of my wife--they were kind and compassionate, managed her pain well, and took expert care of the situation. I'd honestly consider the hour drive down to Seton from SF for similar situations. read more

If I could give Seton Coastside ER 10 stars I would. I went to the ER yesterday with a horrific ear ache. From Libby in admitting, to Jim the triage nurse to the amazing Dr. Raymond Lee it was an outstanding experience. All 3 of these people were professional, caring and went over and beyond the call of duty. I was very impressed that Dr. Lee for the past 7 years travels from San Diego three days a week to serve the Coastside community. That in itself should tell you the dedication he has, and trust me, that dedication comes through in his treatment. read more

Absolutely the worst hospital I have ever been to, and I've been through the VA system! Seriously, if I got hit by a car on Hwy 1 in front of the hospital I would request to be taken somewhere else! Never come here! Horrible service and over the top charges as well! You're better off duct taping your broken leg and walking to Pacifica! read more

Silly me, I thought physical therapy was only for people recovering from recent, catastrophic injuries. Little did I know that they could fix me, too. The people here are just wonderful and SO nice. Moved to Moss Beach and immediately wanted to learn surfing. Day 2 board hits head! We drive up to the hospital - and from here on the US healthsystem really surprised me positively: fast, friendly, competent nurses and doctors. Everything went really smooth and very straight forward. No long waiting lines but most of all: been treated excellently and that very quickly - on Memorial Day Sunday afternoon (!!!). For security reasons I was then sent to the Daly City main hospital where additional tests (head scan) could be performed ... and they were just as friendly, competent and good! Imagine being at the coast, it's Friday around 4:45pm, your spouse has just walked in the door bruised and broken up from a mountain bike wreck. I had no idea where to take him. Seton Coastside was recommended. Anything to avoid driving over 92. I called, was given directions, they were expecting us when we arrived. He was brought in immediately, they were so efficient I was amazed and very thankful. He had X-rays, the doctor on call consulted with a radiologist, his wounds were cleaned, he was given medicine and bandaged up. We were there for less than 2 hours! I'm so very thankful for this place!! The staff went out of their way. We'd like to thank the receptionist, the nurses attending, Peter in X-ray and Dr Goodman. read more

Had a great experience here. Cut my finger very badly..it wouldn't stop bleeding. I sure didn't want to head over 92 in traffic. My neighbor took me here, I was seen almost immediately. The staff was great, the care awesome, I received my tennis shot, my stitches and was on my way. They also called the next morning to check on how I was doing. All in all a very good experience for a painful injury. read more

My experience was wonderful at Seton in the ER room. There was no wait the doctor and nurse were efficient and knowledgeable. I had come in for flu symptoms but Dr.McIntyre also found I had an ear infection. Every one was super nice and helpful. read more

Disgusting. Went for urgent care and the facility smells so bad, the nurse is incredibly rude, the doctor's coat is dirty and he wreaks of cigarettes. I also think that they were not thorough in their diagnostics so I am going to seek a second opinion. read more

We recently had to visit this shark pit as a result of a surfing injury. Our Son hit his head while surfing and then threw up and so we took him to emergency beach side. The doctor didn't even properly look at the wound, the nurse sprayed some saline on the wound, told him to hold some gauze on the wound and then they sent us to Seton Hospital in Daley City to get a scan. The scan itself was well conducted with friendly staff and efficient and so we have no problem with them or the course of treatment. Our issue is the same as one review earlier in this section, THE BILL!!!!!! For our 10 minute visit at beachside with the Dr and Nurse we have been charged $2500. This place clearly rips people off so only go if you have too and make sure you have good coverage!!! read more

Very old-fashioned, small facility, but they get the job done and you are not waiting with 50 people. HOWEVER - I am still in SHOCK from the BILL I received from my daughter's ankle injury. She was hurt at 7pm in SF playing soccer, so I took her to our home town emergency room to be looked at and xrayed so I could get her to bed when done. We had our OWN crutches. They had to call in an xray tech - none on sight at that time. Fairly fast. But the bill was a WHOPPING $$$ 4300.00 !!!!!!! No break, no crutches. Just examined, xrayed, and given an air splint. I am still paying this off. And the billing department just tells me it is not their issue. Wow wow wow. $4300. Who's bill am I really paying?? Seton: contact me! read more

What a great facility. My 96-year-old mother has been here many times and I have twice. Always had excellent care, better than Peninsula or the "big Seton." It is true they run on a shoestring. The physicians, Drs MacIntyre and Poindexter, are great as well as the nurses. Curly in X-ray is a delight. I believe they saved my life (I arrived in a diabetic coma) and know they saved our friends life after a heart attack. read more

This place is a hell hole. People in dirty pooped diapers just stuck sitting in wheel chairs all over the hall ways. My boyfriend was sent there to get his strength back after surgery and had gotten terrible care. Today a nurse accidentally pulled out his pic line while changing the bandage. Now the pic line has to be done over and it is a horrible procedure. It seriously does not deserve even 1 star. Do not let anyone you care about go there! read more

I love the PT/OT/SPT Rehabilitation department, they have knowledgeable staff, a long history and a great atmosphere. You are able to interact with in-patient and out-patient population. You are able to have privacy and professionalism along with just a comfortable surrounding. i love this place. read more

I was taken there by some friends after falling down a hill which aggravated an existing wound. To be honest I was walking home from OPL fully shithoused when I took a spill. Anyway I started to sober up when Nurse Ratchet started lecturing me about how I'm too old for drinking like that and how horrible of a person I am. Pretty sure I told her "ma'am I'm in need of medical attention, and you're probably right. I'll change my ways starting now", but actually i said "whhut the fuk? My Fokken stitches are bleeding and full of dirt. Fahk! I needs some medical help, not a fuckin sermon", but probably what she heard was. "Fuk fuckingnpissed lady, leaf me alone. Didn't even wanna come here. I wanna go home". Glad they're there for an emergency, but the lectures aren't worth it. Probably better just to lose the hand. read more

Had temperature and blood pressure taken; given 1 pill; told that cause of my condition unknown, but not life threatening and would resolve on its own within 24 hours; and sent home. $1,500. Although the 1 sentence of expertise and advice was good, it is hard to justify $80 per word. The next time I have an emergency, I will go to Google. read more

I went here with a clearly written lab slip for specific tests. One of them being a HEP Panel to check liver function due to the statin I am taking... The receptionist who signed me in apparently signed me up for an acute hepatic panel [meaning they were checking for Hepatitis-- told me it was not covered, and that if I wanted to have the test it would be $600+.... are you kidding me! I, of course, declined the test...but proceeded with my other lab work. That day I spent a large portion of the day on the line with the insurance companies, etc... wondering why an ordered test was not covered??? Finally worked out something and I went to the newly discovered Quest Diagnostics, in Half Moon Bay...FANTASTIC .... there I find out THE RECEPTIONIST [at Seton] HAD SEEN HEP PANEL FUNCTION and translated it to ACUTE HEP SCREENING... are you kidding me [Quest would have charge me 65$ for that item not the $600+ she was quoting me... Will I ever use Seton's lab again... NO!!!! they cost me 2 days, hours on the phone frustrated with insurance companies [totally unnecessary], two fasting mornings, two blood draws, and, even then, I won't know til next week if Seton did the correct ones! ... read more

First time visit was very unpleasant the staff was very kind Rebecca especially was super nice Until the director named bill came in to where we were and practically yelled at us for having a live plant in which we were not told about and to top it off my aunts mother who had a accident in her wheelchair this was a injury of 3 days ago have not done anything and it's 4 days now and so we complained and he began to deny his action when it was very unprofessional for him come in and yell at my family as we came to visit so I would highly recommend to stay away from bill and avoid him at all cost read more

I feel like this place is operating on a shoestring, but that is no reason for questionable medical procedure. I had to have X-rays done and was never covered by a protective apron, plus I had a watch and rings on and considering some of the X-rays were for my arm, I think she should have asked me or helped me remove them. I had the feeling she didn't want to be there and I for one don't believe she should have been. I gave it one star because I got right in. read more

$771 JUST FOR WALKING IN THE DOOR!!! - When I asked about my bill, I was told by the hospital employee that that's the cost everyone pays for using Seton Hospital - I had an X-ray done - the $771 is not related to the X-ray - it's just for walking in the door. The cost for the actual X-ray was $63. Before posting this I called my medical provider to check on the other places they recommend to patients for X-rays (wish I'd done that before, but never dreamed I'd have such a bill) - in that discussion the office person explained hospitals are always cheaper than what are called "office facilities." - so I called an office facility Peninsula Diagnostics, and was told $49.40 is the "contracted rate" which I'd have pay if I haven't reached my deductible - in other words - to use Seton cost OVER 16 TIMES (1600%) what it cost to use the other facility - but no one informed me about the additional cost beyond the X-ray - it certainly wasn't in the paperwork, because I'd have gone somewhere else!!! That seems deceptive to me. The actual cost to me has worked out to be about $360 - but that's still 7 times what it would have cost at another location. As a local Coastsider, I'm glad Seton is near me as a hospital for emergencies but, given the choice in the future, I will never pay such a huge differential - and they need to let you know that before you finish agreeing to use their services. read more
