We were hit with a $2000 bill for taking a splinter out of my husband's eye. It took 10 seconds. Really?

Sharing for awareness regarding the care I received during an MRI on 2/19/26 with a technician…read morenamed Mark, avoid if you can: Description of Incident Upon arrival, I informed the staff that I am a "hard stick" and required specific care for IV placement. Despite this: * Substandard Technique: The technician, Mark, failed to examine both arms for viable veins before attempting to prick me. * Physical Harm: Mark made 3 unsuccessful attempts. When I requested he stop after the third painful prick, he was dismissive of my concerns, stating, "I've been doing this for 24 years." This resulted in significant bruising on my left arm. They finally brought in a PICC nurse after that. * Procedure Failure: During the scan, the contrast administration was extremely painful because of contrast flow not being adjusted properly. Furthermore, the contrast did not appear in the initial images. Because of this technical failure, I was forced to return for a second MRI.

1 star for the cafeteria…read more I am writing as a patient to share a concern about the food environment at Mills-Peninsula Medical Center in Burlingame. While I appreciate the medical care provided, I was disappointed by the nutritional quality and messaging reflected in the cafeteria offerings. Hospitals play a critical role not only in treating illness, but also in modeling healthy behaviors. When patients are advised to follow heart-healthy, low-sodium, or balanced diets, it is confusing and discouraging to see food options that do not consistently reflect those same standards. This creates a disconnect between what physicians recommend and what the hospital environment promotes. As a patient, it raises an important question about how seriously nutrition is being prioritized as part of overall care and recovery. I encourage the hospital to consider: - Expanding and clearly highlighting healthier, whole-food options - Reducing the prominence of highly processed and high-sodium items - Aligning cafeteria offerings more closely with clinical dietary guidelines - Providing transparent nutritional information to help patients and visitors make informed choices Improving the food environment would not only support patient recovery, but also reinforce the hospital's role as a leader in promoting long-term health and wellness. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

HIPPA violations…read more Receptionists don't know how to answer phone calls properly or greet people when they walk in Receptionists not routing messages properly to medical staff when patient has had a stroke fault of doctor Sandra falling asleep during patient visit check ups saying everything is fine and not speaking to patients or seeing why they maybe having certain symptoms. And second doctor he saw didn't do a full work on patient that was having stroke symptoms and patient had to go to the er to find out he had a stroke and due neglect of doctor not running test even showing red flags of patient being in out of the er past month. Missing patient documents such as they are violating hippa and patient privacy and not checking who they are calling before disclosing patient information or knowing where they place forms and at the end lying about having consent forms in the chart that Irma was able to find but according to other staff or nurses can't find unbelievable people are getting paid to give patients the run around. This what the county clinic provides setting patients for failure. Nurse Celina using improper vocabulary words to patients. Telling people to not come in hot what type of way to start an introduction to patients and instead asking who am I speaking to and how are you not who are you and do you have consent. Prior to calling patients they must review patients chart and know who they are calling. When you had been waiting on a phone call for a week for patients medication from a patient having a very recent stroke and now have to wait longer for another Dr to approve it because the Dr is on vacation. What kind of excuses and negligence does the nurse and front staff have. Maybe they all need to be trained and know what's urgent and not. And if your a certified medical staff the receptionist should be giving their two sense about a request they have no legal authority to give medical advice or say well message the Dr and end up not sending a message to the providers. They need a real audit and retrain staff properly and not give patients excuses about it's a new system no excuses to be putting patients safety first

Looks like I'll be the first to write a review about this place. I don't know about all of you, but…read moreI'm very alert, concerned, and iffy when it comes to places I've never been to. Even perhaps when no know has ever written a review about the place at all. First thing, it was difficult finding this place! It's hidden in the back of some sort of old- fashion shopping area. I literally had to do some searching even after the navigation took me to the destination. It's right next to the gas station if you're looking for it. Second, it looked empty when I got inside. There were so many chairs. Perhaps I came in on a less busy day. The employees there were very nice. I was definitely not expecting someone rude, mean, or with attitude. That's definitely a PLUS. My doctors saw me and gave me a full scope on everything! She took care of every detail in terms of my health concerns and anything that I needed (vaccinations for school). I seriously thought that I would be having to see the doctor on multiple visits, but she took care of EVERYTHING today. It's such a far out breach to come out here, but they definitely made my trip worth it!!!
