He provided a lot of helpful information that put my mind at ease and helped me better understand what was going on with my child. As a worried mom, that meant the world to me. It's rare to find a doctor who combines professionalism with such genuine compassion. Dr. Tetwiler truly made a stressful situation much easier for both my toddler and me. The care model is fundamentally inaccessible for anyone who is years into the illness assuming patients have significant financial resources and the energy to constantly navigate online portals, websites, supplements & the constant demand for forms, functionality scores. Most struggle to harness to communicate. Maybe one can type from a phone & get to a appt outside of your home every week or two You are expected to be at your message portal for frequent last minute schedule changes. Do they know what a crash is & how carefully patients need to schedule their energy, speech, upright tolerance etc? You are told you will lose out if you don't reply in 24 hours. The approach relies heavily on psychologizing & a paternalistic structure. patients can be passively aggressively scolded or penalized for experiencing emergencies. Many Chronically ill patients simply do not have the capacity to manage unfeasible administrative burdens on top of severe energy limitations. The head of the dept James C Yang is responsive & -he really wants to be zen but his NPD and patriarchal grooming is harmful to patients. He will reduce chronic pain to emotional state even with small fiber neuropathy. Does any physician know what small fiber neuropathy is? The dept also puts your personally shared info unrelated to illness on their portal which is seemingly vulnerable to hacking. In this day & age we still fail women & patients unless it fits their cherry picked narrative. Nothing will be made easy you will navigate fasting, websites, surveys, endless lab trips, there is zero clue how depleting it is. How on earth can an M.E. Patient get to office for 6 treatments week after week? If you find something experimental which helped - you will be penalized as if you are a child. Do they want you to improve or are they seeking credit for their achievements. Why aren't there house-call phlebotomists for patients? If you have a potentially urgent situation such as passing out - it wont be addressed.. If you attempt to communicate the stress it is causing you are viewed as a "difficult patient".. The nurse is very kind. Please update to Bateman Horne and M.E. Foundations for better comprehension Another 3 Kaiser docs work with my limitations. Its taken me 5.5 months to get clarity on another issue bc i refused a biopsy. The doc allowed me to space out respecting my energy limitations bc getting into the clinic is agonizing. One week may be easier. if you can use your phone- and have a few brain cells-that will translate to the M.E. Dept that you are fully functional. For many of us, including Ron Davis's son- we can type. Some of us can speak. Others struggle with all of it. your stress response will be scapegoated - yet they initiate relentless stress . Every time I come, I park in the lot while having my pass validated inside the hospital. The most I've had to pay for parking is $2, sometimes $1 depending on how long your appt is. Once you enter inside, the facility is pretty clean and someone greets you where you validate parking. I've had appts on various floors, and every office/bathroom has been extremely clean. The staff is also very nice, from the doctors to the nurses to the check-in counter. Their pharmacy is also fast and efficient once you put your order through. I've changed doctors a few different times. It takes time to find the right one. I see my MD more often than my OB/GYN. We have some pretty good convos in person and over online calls :) I actually prefer Kaiser over other types of insurance.

I saw a podiatrist, this lady scolded me into not going to the nail salons because according to her they are full of bacteria. I am 50 years old, health advice is one thing but scolding you like a child is another. This toenail situation went on and up until now. I was given a 90day medicationand was warned that it may affect my liver or kidney. Early this year, I requested to see a podiatrist again, but requested a different one because Iwas traumatized withthe first. This second one's advice is to take off the whole nail but does notguaranteee it will grow back if not there is no more solution. I said to him "in this day and age that we have Waymos, there is no cure for my toenail????" Cancer has cure, birthing a baby's recuperation at the hospital and this has no cure. So I accepted this, from Jan to date I cant wear socks, shoes and that toenail is painful everyday. I searched on google and yelp for the best podiatrist in SF, unfortunately they dont want to take me because I have Kaiser insurance and they always say why not go to Kaiser and I told them they said the solution is to take the nail off but not guaranty that it will grow back. Super convenient that everything is practically located in one area so you're not having to run around town to various offices, pharmacies, and labs to get everything done. I love their online app/portal that makes scheduling appointments, ordering medications, and sending messages to your doctors easier. I can also access my medical records with ease through the portal - really helps when it comes to figuring out when my last yearly physical was or when my last immunization was done. The first time I experienced Kaiser here in SF it felt almost like being at the DMV. Big digital screens with patient names and call numbers for when it's your turn - particularly when getting blood draws and picking up prescriptions - but it's super efficient even at the busiest times when you think you'll be waiting an eternity. I've had nothing but good experiences with all the staff as well from the front desk administration to the nurses and doctors. Even the cafeteria workers are super pleasant at this location the few times I've decided to grab a coffee or a quick snack. I'm relatively healthy - knock on wood - and most of my medical appointments have been for just yearly checkups and one breast biopsy which I was totally expecting to be traumatic but it was surprisingly non frightening and went so much smoother than I was preparing for. I haven't yet had to see a specialist outside of that or have any ER visits or surgeries at Kaiser so I can't critique them in any of those categories but for preventative care I give them a hearty thumbs up.

Thereafter, he and I were given notice for appointments on September 18, 19 & 20 for three radiation treatments. The first two appointments went as scheduled. EMT (Emergency Medical Transport) arrived at Crown Bay and provided transportation. Today (9/20/2023) my husband and I waited for EMT to arrive around 8:30 AM. Apparently, Crown Bay messed up and had him scheduled for pickup at 9:30 AM. Since the staff at Crown Bay could not reach somebody at Kaiser, I called them myself and was able to talk to a staff member. Thanks to the staff member for talking to the therapist. Kaiser will accommodate us with a late appointment and treat my husband. Besides taking care of this issue, I appreciate the kindness, compassion and understanding of the hospital staff in helping and serving the public. Again, allow me to mention they are the best and wonderful people to be so accommodating.

They call in between appointments so perhaps it's better to just schedule a follow-up in person rather than have the call hanging over your head all day and possibly being caught in a meeting or whatever unable to accept the call. One call I did receive or email stated "thank you for reaching us" etc nothing else no one followed up.
