He provided a lot of helpful information that put my mind at ease and helped me better understand what was going on with my child. As a worried mom, that meant the world to me. It's rare to find a doctor who combines professionalism with such genuine compassion. Dr. Tetwiler truly made a stressful situation much easier for both my toddler and me. I saw a podiatrist, this lady scolded me into not going to the nail salons because according to her they are full of bacteria. I am 50 years old, health advice is one thing but scolding you like a child is another. This toenail situation went on and up until now. I was given a 90day medicationand was warned that it may affect my liver or kidney. Early this year, I requested to see a podiatrist again, but requested a different one because Iwas traumatized withthe first. This second one's advice is to take off the whole nail but does notguaranteee it will grow back if not there is no more solution. I said to him "in this day and age that we have Waymos, there is no cure for my toenail????" Cancer has cure, birthing a baby's recuperation at the hospital and this has no cure. So I accepted this, from Jan to date I cant wear socks, shoes and that toenail is painful everyday. I searched on google and yelp for the best podiatrist in SF, unfortunately they dont want to take me because I have Kaiser insurance and they always say why not go to Kaiser and I told them they said the solution is to take the nail off but not guaranty that it will grow back. Tuesdsay, I had an appointment with a Podiatrist from SutterHealth, I dont mind paying out of pocket at this point. When we had the consult I feel great when I was told that they can help. Imagine that? Now, I have some rashes from the sandals I have been wearing all this time so he suggested that I go back to Kaiser and see a dermatoligist for the contact dematitis so that Iwill not be charged with him since I am paying him out of pocket. Yesterday, I went to Kaiser and met with the dermatologist and guess what? She said that she was also surprised that Iwas told what Iwas told. She asked if I want to give another Kaiser Podiatrist a chance, I said I dont trust them and besides time is off the essence now. I have my surgery with Sutter Health next week, I cant keep going on like this. I need a solution. You all heard what they say about Kaiser, been with them since 2004 from different employers...I think it's time to look for a better healthcare.

My experience working with him during this period often felt more contentious than collaborative. I accept full responsibility for not ending the relationship sooner and finding a different provider. At the time, I thought giving it more runway might eventually produce something resembling teamwork. Spoiler: it did not. The straw that broke the camel's back was Dr. Wu's refusal to order a handful of basic labs I requested. These were not esoteric, contrarian, or particularly expensive tests. They were the sort of routine labs any reasonably informed patient who actually cares about their health might ask for. Worse still, Dr. Wu showed no interest in a reasonable conversation about the request. He simply declared there was "no evidence" for ordering them--while never bothering to ask what my reasons were. One might almost admire the efficiency of dismissing a patient's concerns without the inconvenience of hearing them. The secondary question is whether denying a low-cost, reasonable request was a prudent call. Even if Dr. Wu preferred not to practice defensive medicine, alienating a patient who pays high premiums over labs that cost the institution next to nothing seems a curious trade-off. I'll likely leave Kaiser when my company opens enrollment this year, and I'll cheerfully recommend that friends, family, constituents, and community members consider doing the same.

I witnessed this employee treat an elderly woman with complete disrespect. The woman was having difficulty locating her Kaiser member ID and was clearly struggling, yet the employee responded with a rude, impatient, and dismissive attitude. There was absolutely no compassion, empathy, or willingness to help. Instead of assisting a vulnerable patient, she made the interaction unnecessarily uncomfortable and embarrassing. This behavior is unacceptable for anyone working in a patient-facing role. Healthcare employees, especially those at the front desk, should treat every patient with dignity, patience, and respect. An elderly patient should never be made to feel like an inconvenience for needing a little extra time. Based on what I witnessed, I believe this employee's conduct should be reviewed by management. If this is how she treats patients in public, I am concerned about how many others may have experienced similar treatment but chose not to speak up. I hope Kaiser investigates this incident and takes appropriate corrective action to ensure all patients are treated with the professionalism and compassion they deserve.

Thereafter, he and I were given notice for appointments on September 18, 19 & 20 for three radiation treatments. The first two appointments went as scheduled. EMT (Emergency Medical Transport) arrived at Crown Bay and provided transportation. Today (9/20/2023) my husband and I waited for EMT to arrive around 8:30 AM. Apparently, Crown Bay messed up and had him scheduled for pickup at 9:30 AM. Since the staff at Crown Bay could not reach somebody at Kaiser, I called them myself and was able to talk to a staff member. Thanks to the staff member for talking to the therapist. Kaiser will accommodate us with a late appointment and treat my husband. Besides taking care of this issue, I appreciate the kindness, compassion and understanding of the hospital staff in helping and serving the public. Again, allow me to mention they are the best and wonderful people to be so accommodating.

I came to Kaiser as a healthy young woman with a headache. 6 months later, I am blind in one eye and have a serious infection in my carotid artery. Without Dr. Epstein's involvement, I can assure you that I would not be here typing this review. She, alone, secured my transfer to UCSF, where I was treated for my condition and finally released home. Dr. Epstein has taken on my case and treated me as if I were her own child! She never gave up on me, secured visits with experts, followed through with UCSF doctors daily, to ensure my proper treatment!

I was not told at the time I accepted the follow up appointment that a 10 AM appointment means the doctor or PA in my case calls you at 10 AM OR anytime after 10 am until 5 pm. That's hardly an appointment...it's 1pm now and I have not received my "appointment" call. They call in between appointments so perhaps it's better to just schedule a follow-up in person rather than have the call hanging over your head all day and possibly being caught in a meeting or whatever unable to accept the call. A note for fairness, I have not experienced this with my primary doctor. She called to let me know she'd be 15 minutes late! Very kind and responsible is how I remember my phone and/or video appointments with primary doctors at Kaiser.

I was floored she would talk to patients with other therapists & their patients the way she does as they do exercises near by.... She is not compassionate at her job with patients that are in pain having exercises forced on them like me saying aggressively"come on" loudly! Once I waited at the outside area before coming in & she rudely said " why you sitting there, you know to knock"! I had knocked but it sounded like she was on a call! She is not warm, friendly or kind towards her patients! I called to make a formal complaint on her & asked them to call me so in detail I could say how this miserable, bitter this woman is to patients but no one ever called me like her direct Supervisor. One call I did receive or email stated "thank you for reaching us" etc nothing else no one followed up. I do not know how this Physical Therapist has been doing what she does for many, many years of how she even bragged about herself! What a joke, I feel sorry for all the patients she treats like myself & I'm sure no one knows about it since her immediate Supervisor never contacted me! By the way, only reason I went back to her is because I was a Workers Compensation patient & I really did need to complete my visits with her & by the time I changed to a new Physical Therapist it was probably too late to book full appointments that were later in months!
