The AHOLA Payroll Service and their HCM System (iSolve) are great. It's a great family owned company which is why we selected AHOLA, in addition to the many referrals we received from other local business owners. They have always gone the extra mile for our business and have always been quick to resolve any issue or questions we might have. I recently implemented their iSolve HIRE portal and it's a great all inclusive system. AHOLA did have a recent issue on October 25, 2019 with the 3rd party ACH (Automated Clearing House) which handles electronic transfers throughout the U.S.. However, the team at AHOLA worked throughout the night and the weekend to resolve the issues, forming new partnerships to ensure this issue never happens again. Payroll never went through for any of my employees. We call numerous times befor we got a somewhat truthful answer. I talked to the Vp and he lied and said they had no idea this was going to happen. The ach company that the issue originated from contacted ahola the day befor and notified that they were not going to process ach anymore. Mark knew and lied me. Then ahola sent out 6 or more emails promising the ach company was going to process. The ach company's original email stated the wouldent. Our payroll was to happen on Friday October 25th. Here we are today October 28th and still no paychecks in the bank. This is for our entire company. They assured the organization that it would be resolved on Friday. We have also been told they will cover any overdraft fees. I will believe that when I see it. We started using Ahola in the beginning of 2017. It was a nightmare from Day 1. Problem after Problem! They were supposed to take over on 1/1/17, they couldn't they weren't ready. They don't pay your taxes on time and then send you a tax refund 4 months later for something you now owe penalties on. There staff is so rude, I can't believe they are still in business. Payroll processor won't answer phones or return emails, you have no way to add new people with out them. I complained and complained and they gave me a new processor who was much worse than the first one I had. Tax Personnel is horrible RUDE (Amanda Foster) and stupid. If they don't have a tax account number they just don't pay it and don't even ask for it. They try to get you to do their work for them. You ask for copies of things they have paid on your behalf and they refuse to give it to you. Won't process refunds in a timely fashion, then mail you letters all the time saying we are responsible for penalties, when I can document that I provided them with the information well in advance. Ahola treasury did not respond to verify if the wire was received and after the 10th day and 6 phone calls Carol still could not answer my questions or explain why $700 more than owed was instructed to be sent. After that phone call, we were informed Ahola will no longer do our payroll - that's fine by me. March and my employee's W-2 still have not sent out. I wish I could give no stars. Was supposed to get paid from them October 25th it is now October 28th and I still have not received my paycheck. When I call the company the reps are rude they hang up the phone and tell me to call my employer period my employer tells me that our money should be in our banks by the end of the day today which is October 28th which is the same thing that I was told October 25th still have not received my paycheck. I am a small medical business with 4 employees all on salary. What could be easier? Here is my 2 year experience with Ahola: 1. Added two employees that were supposed to have one time payment of $500 and it was set up as a recurring payment. The employees were paid for 3 pays before it was realized. 2. Our financial advisor set up to have a report emailed after each pay to our benefit plan for our 401K. The report was needed to pull 401K contributions from our bank account. Sometimes the report was emailed and sometimes it wasn't. Our financial advisor always had to review after each pay to make sure this was done. 3. Account set up with wrong business address. Taxes were collected for wrong city for 6 months. 4. Amended tax return needed to be filed to correct city error. The amended tax return wasn't filed until 12 months after it should have been. 5. Received a penalty of around $4000 from RITA since there was a delay in filing the return. 6. Never received refund of over $6000 from RITA since there was a delay in filing the return. 7. When we called Ahola to talk with tax department, they refused to speak with us and said that we needed to contact RITA ourselves. Message left for supervisor and no one called back. Made two more phone calls and was finally transferred to Mark Strippy, Vice President. 8. Minerva Diaz, Supervisor, called with update on situation after Mark talked with her and looked into problem. She said that she would personally handle situation and get it resolved. 9. Ahola was never proactive and never followed up with status on what was going on. Our office always had to check on progress of getting refund from RITA. 10. After 5 months of waiting for refund, Minerva Diaz was emailed for status update and didn't respond. After two weeks, another email was sent and again - no response. A voicemail was left for Minerva and no response. Finally on the fourth attempt, Minerva answered the phone when transferred. She said that she would look into situation and get back with update in a couple of days. Minerva did call back on a Friday afternoon at around 5pm after office closed and left message. She said that Crystal from Tax Department would make another call to RITA. Minerva said that she would be on vacation all the next week and to give Crystal a call for update. 11. Finally received refund from RITA after 8 months and not sure would have received it if we didn't continue to call Ahola for updates. We did have to contact RITA ourselves to make sure that the penalty of $4000 was removed. 12. Right after received refund for problem of wrong city, a new employee was added to payroll and again set up with wrong city of employment. Had to contact Ahola to have this resolved. 13. Ahola notified several times to change address for where to send reports. Had home address listed instead of business address. Address never changed and year end reports again sent to home address. 14. Payroll very simple. We have 4 employees that are salaried and receive the same amount for each pay period. read more

I am a business owner who called to discuss our payroll documents. The Supervisor of payroll, Tracie was extremely rude and disrespectful. When I asked to speak with the management team, I was referred to Marria Ahola, a co-owner of this company. She did not apologize for this rude behavior, but justified her actions. She went on to defend this behavior and shared no offer nor was she interested in seeing it from my perspective. As a Manager at a small company, I made the mistake of looking for a cheaper option for my employees. With Ahola cheaper means unreliable payroll and horrible customer service. To some up my experience with Ahola, It was the worst company I've worked with ever, in all aspects of business. This company doesn't even deserve the 1 star I was forced to give it.
