That someone was two men, a woman, and one chainsaw. One of the men spent the next 30 minutes trying to start the saw. One of the men never got out of the truck. To our disbelief, that man commenced trying to cut a 40-foot queen palm down with the women standing in the line of fall. We yelled at him to stop. We called the company representative. The two men and the woman left. The company representative rescheduled the work for today 7.11.2026. No one showed up. So we called the company. The representative on the phone said they had an equipment problem, and if we were in a hurry, perhaps we should consult another company. Both seemed good, but the reviews on Smilin' Curbs were way better as was the communication back-n-forth. Ultimately, it was the great reviews that swayed me to Smilin' Curbs...and now I'm an equally happy customer. The project looks amazing, the workers worked their butts off and showed up on time/every day, the cleanup was very well done as if workers hadn't even been in my yard hauling 13 buckets/yards of jumbo black slate, laying weed cloth to ensure I never get weed/grass growing through, setting concrete cleanly, made some professional suggestions that I liked (burying downspouts, joining landscape sections, powerwashing/sealing, etc.). My dad sends him monthly checks every beginning of the month as a courtesy and convenience as opposed to being billed after the job. Mr. Ramos would cash the checks, but not schedule any maintenance. He doesn't reply to calls and text messages either, nor request for refund for non services rendered. We even added extra $ as a X-mas bonus, but that went unappreciated.
