My previous review was based on my home being a rental and having bad renters that didn't communicate. I'm happy to say that I called Aim to Please today when a floor drain backed up after years of disuse. It is located directly under my water heater and I had to bring in the big guns for a job that was a bit too big for me to tackle. My house is older and sits on a concrete slab. Attempts with a plunger and an auger didn't help, and I was informed up front about the fact the drain may be compromised. I was also told about a potential solution if that was the case. One last solution involved a tool that fills the pipe and shoots a high pressure jet of water. Success!! They were all very friendly and thorough, and I appreciate the steps taken to fix the problem as well as the tips given to help make sure it doesn't happen again. Make sure you check their website. After 35 years living in Bloomington I call Aim to Please for all my plumbing needs. They are prompt, skillful, neat, conscientious, and always thoughtful. Today Alan came out and saved my sanity by replacing a fan in my tankless hot water heater that was squealing like a banshee. To get at the old fan he had to effectively take apart the heater, but he did it skillfully and cheerfully and had us back in business in no time. We called for emergency service over a holiday. We were informed of the emergency rate and agreed to pay it. The Plumber came and gave us a temporary fix to our problem. He stated that the office would call on Monday to set up a time to put the proper valve in. Monday came and went. No call. So we called on Wednesday. We were told that the plumber refuses to come back as he does not want to finish the job in our crawl space. He sure didn't have trouble with getting in our crawl space when he was being paid $250.00/hour. He did not have the respect for us to call and tell us he was not coming back. We need this fixed and now have to find a plumber to finish the job. I think this company only does the "easy" jobs. Clearly, one star is too much. read more

We recently moved into our new home, and found that the washing machine's cold water valve was leaking heavily. While it likely would not have caused an issue with the hose connected to the washing machine, we wanted to ensure we're taking care of the house. We also had a gas line that needed capped from a gas dryer. Did a quick search of local plumbers, and came across this company, and could not be happier! Alan is amazing! My power went out earlier tonight and I called Aim to Please after having trouble turning the breaker switch back to the "on" position. Alan recognized me over the phone from an installation he did over a year ago. He was patient and helped me get things back up and running. I'm really grateful to have gotten such great help at night and I would recommend anyone reading this to put up Aim to Please's phone number on their fridge or circuit box in case of emergencies such as theses (or regular installation/maintenance work). Over a year ago, Alan installed a 240V Nema 14-50 electric vehicle charging outlet in my garage and the outlet has worked great! The employee was very nice and professional however their price for 30 min and two item fix has left me with sticker shock after I was only wanting a " estimate" on low pressure shower fix. Aim to Please Plumbing and Electric are an absolute joy to work with! 1) I had no trouble at all getting in touch with them, coordinating a time for an estimate, and then scheduling the work. In my experience, this is the hardest thing for plumbers/contractors in this town. They can be hard to reach, difficult to schedule, and uncommunicative (to the point where it seems like they don't care about your business). Aim to Please exceeded my expectations in every way in this category. They email fast, always answer their phone, delivered an estimate to me 3 days after they looked at my problem, and scheduled the week less than a week later (my problem was rather intense and required a full days labor. I imagine if your work was easier, they would/could be out faster.) 2) They gave me an estimate (very reasonable) and the bill was *less* than the estimated amount because Alan gave me a 10% discount! I LOVE discounts! 3) They were extremely clean. 4) I had Alan come out to see about updating my electrical, too, and his opinion was that we were fine for now. I was very impressed with that. We had a sump pump emergency (complete with basement flooding!) on a Saturday night during the winter. We called Aim to Please on the recommendation of a friend and had a plumber at our house within an hour. He was prompt, courteous, and had a new pump installed within about 45 minutes. Obviously - being emergency late-night plumbing - the prices were not dirt-cheap, but it was actually far more reasonable than I was expecting. We hired Aim to Please to completely remodel our bathroom. This involved removing the old shower/tub, toilet, vanity, sink, and accessories (towel bars, etc) and replacing them with new ones. Josh and Malachi were courteous, professional, and -- most importantly -- clearly took a great deal of pride in their work. They removed and disposed of all the old bathroom components, put in the new ones, patched up some drywall, added some really sharp-looking tile around the new shower, and then took care of all the small finishing touches. They even hung the new shower curtain for us! When the guys ran into unexpected issues (including one EXTREMELY not-square wall!), they were able to quickly devise creative, functional, and aesthetically pleasing solutions. They completed the job in slightly less time than estimated (4.5 days instead of 5), and they worked hard to ensure that every detail was just right. We appreciated that they kept the area clean and took off their snowy shoes, even when carrying heavy things into the house. Instead of running the drain inside my home, someone had previously run part of it to the outside just a few inches away. I was extremely impressed with their service during my recent appointment. They were there promptly (even calling me to ask if I could be available earlier since they had a last minute cancellation). They did an excellent job in describing in detail the issues that they found. I actually felt like I learned a lot about how to identify some of the problems myself. I was able to ask a lot of questions and they took the time to make sure I understood. My house was built in the 50's and with old original bathrooms, there can be unique issues. They fixed the problems that I needed them to, told me about what I could do to minimize some issues without having to redo my bathrooms, and even went the extra mile to help fix the blower on my wood burning stove!! On the recommendation of a co-worker, I called Aim to Please for a list of work that was part of a remodel, including moving a gas line, adding outlets, installing a ceiling fan, and rewiring lighting in the basement. Alan, Matthias, and Malachi did a great job, and Alan was particularly creative about placement of a troublesome switch and outlet. Malachi and Matthias were extremely personable and excellent communicators. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I second a previous reviewers note that you should be home when they're working to make sure you can answer questions and clarify anything that might come up during the job, but that's just a good idea regardless of who is doing your work. I would give these guys more stars if it was an option. We have used Aim To Please several times and they are fantastic. Great work, great customer service and great pricing. We had a water heater that the bottom dropped out on and they were there immediately, replaced the old one, installed a new one and cleaned it all up and it was an excellent experience. We just had a problem with a shower faucet that was leaking and broke off. They were out immediately again and had the problem under control and corrected in just over an hour and they showed me how to clean out the drains myself. I called them to have a dishwasher installed, a few simple hook-ups , waited on them, then were 15 minutes late then said they were going pass because my house wasn't up to their clean standards. Excuse me, there was nothing in their way, I have three teenagers so my house isn't perfect, but it was nothing to complain about! I had Malachi and his partner Chayton come out to fix a leak behind a wall that resulted in the flooring being damp. They were very thorough and straightforward about determining what could or could not be causing the leak. Once they identified the issue they were very detailed in showing me the exact issue and the cause. They also provided additional information on options and recommendations going forward. I was extremely pleased with their professionalism and courteousness. They even took their shoes off upon entering the door to not dirty the floor. They were the first contractor we had out that did that. It's something small but I find it very courteous even though I didn't ask or care. Would use them again and recommend this team!!! read more

We called Aim to Please late on a Sunday winter afternoon when we lost electric in half our house, including the furnace, fridge and freezer. Alan, the owner was out in about 30 minutes as promised to see what was going on. Also as promised, he left his boots at the door and did not come in reeking of cigarette smoke. He joked about being our "hero" and he was true to his word. He found and fixed the problem in about a half hour and gave us an estimate for switching from a fuse box to a breaker box. Because that is a costly procedure, he also gave us some techniques to help keep things going until we could save up for the big job. Given that we were paying after hours rates, the charge was very reasonable. We've tried several other electricians in the past, but I think I know who we're going to call next time--and for our next plumbing needs too. Aim-to-Please lives up to their name...and then some! Aim-to-Please most recently did some work at my home on July 17, 2014. I had several things for them to do, including a toilet that ran and had a broken handle. While working on my toilet, they accidentally broke it. They immediately told me what happened and that they would replace the toilet at no charge. The new toilet is nicer looking, more modern and worth significantly more than the toilet they replaced! In addition to this, they kindly replaced some hard-to-reach, burned-out light bulbs and even cleaned my bathroom fan -- and they did this at no charge! All of their work was done efficiently, functions properly and looks great as well! I've used Aim-to-Please a few times before and they have always done good, quality work and been very professional and respectful. It is clear they take pride in what they do and really care about customer service! This is the only time they have ever made a mistake and they owned it and then took the initiative to go above and beyond to make it right!
