We thought it would be a unique party idea. While the Mad Scientists will come to your house, we opted to have the party at their lab. We had a 10am party and the standard party lasts 1-1/2 hours. You can add more time if you want to, but we just opted for the basic. I was nervous that 1-1/2 hours wouldn't be enough time. Given that we chose a party time after breakfast and before lunch, we just did lots of snacks and cupcakes, and it was perfect. If you want to do pizza or extra play time, another 1/2 hour or so would be better. The set-up itself is great. They have picnic table style seating, and when you arrive, some of them have different types of activity boards to play with. There are a ton of stations of toys for the kids to play with and explore before and after the demo. Our group had a 2 year old who could find safe things to play with and even a 10 year old that enjoyed all the activities. They have all the plates, cups, napkins, cutlery, etc. and even have ice cream scoops and lighters for candles. It was great to see how many bases they had covered. I didn't feel the need to add table cloths to anything so really, what you need to bring is minimal. The general decor of the place is awesome. They even had name tags for your to write names on when you walk in. Dr. Molly was our Mad Scientist, and she was so entertaining, enthusiastic and funny! She (safely) used fire, electricity and more. She talked about several science concepts, but kept it basic enough that the young kids could follow what she was talking about. Most importantly though-she made it fun! Even the adults loved the experiments. We made slime and added on the cotton candy making. The kids loved all the activities, had a blast and got to take home a project and a treat. The birthday boy got his own lab coat and was excited to wear it during the demo. Dr. Molly went out of her way to include him where she could. I appreciated her effort to make it special for him. We also brought little safety glasses from Amazon (Search: Gateway Safety 3699 Colorful StarLite Gumballs Safety Glasses, Small) They were perfect for their size, and the kids could take them home. Otherwise, they had a big basket of science goggles that the kids can wear. I am definitely going to looking for more opportunities to visit! All in all: -It's not the cheapest party, but it definitely is unique. -Great communication before the party, and everyone I talked to was super nice and helpful. -They make the party easy for you. -Easy to find. -So much for the kids to do on-site--you don't need to entertain them. -Five is probably the youngest age I'd recommend. -Twelve kids + parents + some extra family was a comfortably full house. There was room for more-just not a ton more. If you have older kids, I'd say that parents could comfortably drop them off. -Check out the party add-ons. We liked the idea of the rocket launch but our party day was rainy so I'm glad we opted for the cotton candy.

We've never been at one, but we've seen some take place while we've just been there during a free time. They have bins for when toys get icky and need to be taken away from the rest of the stuff. Everything seems to be very well organized, cleaned really well and the equipment is really interesting and different than a lot of other play places. Again, I think it's suppose to be giving sensory needs to a wide range of individuals and children. And it's cool! They also have a calming room with a beautiful mural on the inside as well as an infant room which is a great way to section off some of the smaller kids so there's less likely for injury. The main area does have running around, swinging, jumping, but that's what you're there for! They have dress up costumes, coloring space, a giant chalkboard wall and trampoline. I will say the staff is usually hosted by one or two younger people, there's no real problem with that except when they were experiencing technical issues with their portal to be able to login to register your kiddos. That happened a few times a handful of months ago, but now they've switched to a new system and that all seems 100% better. I had been looking forward to taking my nephew to Slick City for a year or more. Timing finally…read moreworked out and we went on a Friday afternoon in summer. I was shocked when I pulled in the parking lot and there were only a handful of cars. When we went in, the place is pretty large, but felt a little empty. There were about 10 slides, a basketball court, and mini go karts. I thought I read online that the go karts were included with admission, but then there were signs saying you needed to buy a wristband. There was no worker in that area and nobody used them during our time there. The slides were fun until you reached the bottom. When the slide ended, you slid onto a rubber mat on most slides. My neck was starting to hurt after a few slides due to the jolt from hitting the rubber mat. I don't recommend for adults. I stopped after about 5 slides. My nephew who is 12 also complained that it hurt. It was really exhausting climbing up all the stairs to get up to the slides. Also, some of the slides and ceiling fans were dusty. Sad to say it was disappointing and I don't plan on coming back.
