Went here a few weeks ago with our daughter. So many parents just sitting around on their phones not paying attention to their kids. My biggest complaint was how dirty everything was. This is a kids play place and it looks like it's never been cleaned. We were barely there an hour before we left because everything we touched had a nasty coating of black grime all over it. Called ahead about the waiver & was told we were okay if we already signed one; once there, they asked if that waiver was for a birthday party which it was, so therefore not valid anymore & instead of filling out online at home, had to do so with kids in tote. Then, children kept gravitating towards a blue tricycle with a broken pedal which meant only a metal spike was sticking out the side. I told one worker who just let it drift back into children's reach; I told 2 more workers who just thought it was funny & somehow the trike made it's way to the other side of the facility. So I approached the group of 7ish workers who were sitting in a circle of chairs & as I did, the giggliest of all the workers who already knew from me telling her said (without me saying a word yet) "oh is that broken?... oh I went to take care of it but couldn't find it" when I had given it directly to them... and yet these gals had plenty of time to hang out chatting it up with chairs pulled up in a circle at the front desk. These workers are endangering children (the trike was amongst many other broken items, lots of broken plastic things with sharp edges) & putting their own employer at risk... however, the buck should stop at the owner regardless. With the workers there to socialize as a priority, it means that no one is monitoring the facility and it's like the wild west among the children. There's a section for small children and one for big children but they cross into each other's spaces. Not too bad if parents monitor their children but many don't, so you have young toddlers in the bouncy house with wild kids or bullies, kids getting run over, kids hogging toys, kids demanding toys that another child just started with... it's uncomfortable much of the time. The concept of having food available is great but it cannot be brought in & what they have available are not healthy options. The facility is clean by the front desk, the play areas did not have that same care. I tried to share the concerns privately through a phone call to their main line & no voicemail options were available; when I attempted to contact them through their website the "contact us" link is disabled. Hard pass on a repeat visit or recommendation for others until an overhaul is done & I hope they take the opportunity to do so. read more

Took my daughter here and we both loved it. We've been to a lot of indoor playgrounds around the area and this is probably our favorite. Definitely the best for the price. The people working there are extremely friendly. They also have food/drinks at great prices, as well. Will definitely be back, especially when we're facing inclement weather and need to run around. read more

Went here today and there's a big playgroup. They don't require the playgroup to rent out a room so they're taking up all the common area tables. The moms are all sitting and talking by the tables. They also brought in a bunch of donuts and a bunch of birthday gifts , and my autistic kid is having a meltdown because they're all talking about the donuts and announce that they were going to eat donuts. I'm in the very corner on one of the jungle gyms, and one of the moms who has a newborn that she's wearing is standing over there in her kid starts hitting my kid she comes over and she very rudely just says I'm sorry he's two, He's learning like you should've been watching your kid. The manager is very unprofessional and basically just blew off all my concerns it was just like yeah that's all allowed if you're gonna come in and be a playgroup you need to watch your children and not sit and all talk all the way across the room. Within the last week or so, and thankfully due to the common(sort of) sense of mankind- we are now at a "mask optional" status here. Thank the lord. Membership renewed. We had our son's first birthday here, and rented one the party rooms! The play area is HUGE! There is also a "under 3 years old" play spot too! Our party hostess was super helpful. Because we were hosting a party we were able to bring in pizza, snacks, and beverages for our guests. Everyone must have on socks to play! It was a great time. read more

The Big Backyard was recommended to me by a co-worker as a place to take my 2.5 yr old nephew who was visiting from Texas during one of the coldest weeks so far this winter. It was a nice place to go for my nephew to run off some steam. It's socks only for the kids and adults so wear shoes that you can take on and off easily. There are 2 sections- one for smaller kids and one for bigger kids. The smaller kid section was more appropriate for my nephew but of course he wanted to hang out with the bigger kids. But you go down pretty fast on the metal slides. I know, because I went down one of them. You have to make sure that you're down the slides to catch your kid or that the kid is old enough to slow themselves down on the slide. Otherwise, it's a great place for kids to run around in the cold winter months- and adults get to go in for free! read more

Great, clean indoor play space with activities for a wide range of ages. Reminded me much of the beloved Sprouts indoor playground in Toronto, minus the free coffee and tea, but plus an impressive, extra large play structure. Ample (comfortable) seating for adults and huge open space for the kiddos to run around. Definitely very clean as well. Great place for kids to let loose! Hubby and I took our son here, he had alot of fun. Some of the flooring by the slides has some wear and tear, but overall very clean. There is a snack station where you can buy beverages (coffee too!) Plus snacks since they do not allow out side food. This is to maintain a peanut free zone. There isn't alot for one year old in terms of infant friendly toys, so when they are crawling around, toddlers and older kids are running around them. Be nice if they included an area for the super little ones to play in since I was nervous about my son stepping on one while running around. read more

Totally enjoyable - my 2 nephews and my niece (ages 3-6) and I took advantage of the free second day - a fabulous idea, and it was really great. SUPER CLEAN! Staff was cleaning each ride toy individually while I was there, there was no debris or dirt anywhere, the kids had a really great time riding around, kicking balls, sliding down the super fast slides on their bellies (otherwise their little bodies would shoot like a cannon ball out the end!!) I brought snacks and we went out to the van, changed diapers, had a little snack, and went back in to enjoy more fun time before nap time! I relaxed in the lawn chairs and read while they wore themselves out! I would definitely go again to fill a drizzling morning up with fun and energy. read more

We had our sons first birthday party here at The Big Backyard. We rented out the entire facility for two hours and the kids loved it! They give you the option to set up however you like and you're able to bring in food and beverages for your guests. I would highly recommend this venue, next time we'll add on an extra hour because the kids were not ready to leave! read more

This place is great for not only kids but parents. The big backyard is just what it says it is. It has the biggest playground I have ever seen that adults can also go on, it has a toddler area as well for the littler one. It has enough room to ride there big wheels, play basketball or kickball and just be a kid. There is also a deck area equipped with outside table and chairs for the parents to hang out and relax. My kids loved this place and I thought it was cool as well. read more

We celebrated our daughter's birthday in December 2015 at The Big Backyard with 10 children (3 and under) and 7 adults. From the moment we arrived, we felt that we were in good hands. Our host Kristine was awesome! We were a little late and Kristine was a HUGE help! She came out with a cart right away to help us get our birthday supplies inside and immediately started setting up and organizing. We love the layout of The Big Backyard (you can see your kids no matter where they are playing) and the fact that food can be purchased on site. My daughter's daycare friends all had a great time! Kristine was also great at keeping us on schedule and even helped get coats and shoes on kids as we were headed out the door. She did an amazing job! The Big Backyard played a big part in creating a very happy memory for my daughter's birthday! p.s. Our daycare provider (home daycare) was so impressed, she's planning on bringing the daycare kids to play there again soon! read more

Not a bad place but they keep it super cold (63F) during the winter. We asked the lady at the front desk to turn up the heat and she started arguing with us. She finally did turn on one of the 3 furnaces after two other people said something, but left the other two off. When questioned why she didn't turn on all three she became very aggressive and said they are AC units. I have worked on a few HVAC units and know for a fact she was lying about that. I believe she was the manager there, and she is really hurting the business. In her area she kept the temperature significantly higher. Will not be returning. read more

We took our son here for his third birthday, along with a younger cousin. Perfect for a kid outing in February. The staff was friendly, prices were reasonable, and the equipment appeared clean. It's inside what used to be a warehouse and they had lots of different things. Playhouses, slides, balls, basketball hoops, ride on vehicles... You name it. They had a variety for different ages too, which was nice to see. Appropriate kid music was playing softly while we were there and the murals on the walls were brightly colorful. In general a good indoor play zone for kids. Friendly and receptive staff. Admission I'd say is a buck or two expensive given the hours they're open and what they offer. Reasonably priced snacks and drinks (a no carry-in policy to ensure food in the complex is allergy-safe for all kids). The large/main slide complex has two large curly slides that are currently and unfortunately unusable because they are pitch black inside and the kids can't see to the bottom. The staff was receptive to the idea of putting glow tape on the inside both of those slides to give toddlers some illumination inside (and hopefully won't make my granddaughters cry next to we stop by; another solution would be drilling clusters of tiny holes in the top -- smaller than fingers -- every foot or so all the way down to get some light in each). There are plenty of toddler pedal bikes to ride (most the same brand and model) but to the frustration of both my 2.5 and 3.5 year old granddaughters, they couldn't reach the pedals very well (and the older one is fairly tall for her age). The only other thing I will add is it would be nice if they had a few more activity stations - like a large ball pit, a stocked play kitchen, a place to sit down and color, and the kids really love playing on the interactive floor games (projected from above). They have a space large enough. The addition of a few things like that would keep us coming more often. They have nice large scale stuff (nicer than Kids in Motion), but just lack some of the smaller scale things to play with for when the kids are tired of climbing. read more

We bought their product. Although the product seems quite nice, the main swing frame on our product broke shortly after we assembled it. It is only one small part. We tried contacting their customer service line for a replacement part. No one ever answers the line, we left about 4 messages. No response. We emailed them...again no response. We now have a swing set we cannot use simply because we cannot get a replacement part due to their lack of customer service. Never would we buy their product again. If they do not provide support for their product, we will not give them support by buying their products. read more

We just celebrated my 3 boys birthday party at the BBY and it was awesome! Our host Livi, was professional and full of energy for the 38 kids we had at the party. My son loves playing here. I was very disappointed once lunch time came along that they do not allow outside food or offer healthy choices. They have snack foods like chips and candy and hot dogs are the only hot food option. If I would have known this before we came I may have chosen somewhere else. We have been coming here for the last 4 years. It historically has been a great place to play inside, burn some steam, and enjoy lunch before afternoon naps. I'm not sure if management has changed or they've been having problems with people getting hurt, but it is totally different. Kids are being told by the staff to stop running (in an indoor playground mind you), not to go too fast on bikes, and ABSOLUTELY NO OUTSIDE FOOD. I don't know about the rest of the world, but when I pay $22 for my 3 kids to play somewhere I pack them a heathy lunch. We were scolded for having raspberries and tomatoes, because this is a peanut free place without any outside food now. If you were used to the low key, enjoyable, fun, big backyard of the past.......don't waste your mornings here again. Some other options: helium, kids in motion, Betty brinn, multiple gymnastics open gyms (wildcard, lafluers, Swiss turners, and salto are the ones we've visited). read more
