We went with Kids in Motion and it did not disappoint. The owner and staff were incredibly accommodating when we needed to change from an outdoor to an indoor location for our 4-year-old's birthday party due to inclement weather, on short notice. We confirmed plans on Friday, and the party was on Sunday. They were understanding of our budget and welcomed us to use the general table area, rather than needing to purchase a party room, as there were no other parties scheduled during our time. The morning staff person even reserved tables for us. The parent/seating options are great - tables, stools, couches. We had ample space. The imaginative play rooms are so thoughtful and fun! And the padded, enclosed play structure was perfect. Kids ages 2-9 were entertained for more than two hours. In addition, the staff was understanding of the birthday girl's 87-year-old grandpa, who cannot walk without shoes, and they let him wear his indoor sandals rather than putting footies over shoes (fall hazard) or just socks. We brought our 4 year old granddaughter here today and she had a blast. There are so many activities for the kids from art projects to legos to a play diner and a play structure. The owner is very nice and is very busy. I think she needs a person just to return things to each activity and to keep the area clean. Some parents sat on their phones and let their unsupervised kid run wild. We will definitely return. read more

The concept is really neat and there are enough rooms and play areas to keep kids entertained for hours. That's a plus. Staff is friendly. But on the downside, this place is filled with germs and it really needs to get disinfected more regularly. For one, the changing area in the restroom was filthy, it looked like it had never been wiped down. There were food crumbs on the changing table- at least I hoped they were food crumbs. Also, there is a really cool construction room full of beans where kids can shovel and play with the trucks. The nuts are supposed to stay in that room, but they are found EVERYWHERE! Kids were taking pails of nuts and dumping them in other play areas. I have a one year old, so I had to constantly take the nuts out of her mouth constantly. Good thing she's not allergic to nuts, but this is hazardous. We went during the week and it wasn't too busy, I don't know how it is on the weekends. I really wanted to love this place, my kids really enjoyed themselves - especially the bubble area, but now I'm stuck with three kids that immediately got sick after we left that place. A few hours of fun is not worth days of sick toddlers. If this place is cleaned and disinfected more often, moms would love it more. Oh my god... don't ever visit this place on the weekend. I'm not sure if it was because there were too many parties or what but I was so overwhelmed being in there. The "big kids" who seemed to be way bigger then should be allowed to play at this place were just running the little kids over. Parents were just sitting off to the side or non-existent so most kids were unsupervised. I have been to one other indoor playground before and it was so much cleaner then this place. The kids are running all over with food and who knows what else. The bathroom smelled like puke... and the kids can only have socks on, but the parents can walk around with shoes (confusing). When we got home I felt like I should use bleach wipes on my skin to get clean (haha not really). I was going to stick to a 2 star review, but the staff was actually very friendly and helpful. Pretty great way to spend a day with kids. We always have fun when we visit. I like that there's a separate area for babies. The comfy couches in the middle for parents are a genius idea, except when said parents are so involved with their phones that they're not watching their kids. There's a separate area for lunch/snacks, but it's not separated by any walls, so you can still see what's going on if one kids playing while the other needs to eat. It's clean enough considering the purpose, and the employees do a fair job of trying to keep up with putting things back where they belong. Could definitely use a regular deep cleaning and some of the damaged or worn out items could use replacing, but prices are fair for what you get. The staff's bad attitude was apparent the moment I walked in. The two ladies working there did not greet me or even acknowledge me until they were done bitching about someone they both knew. When one of them finally walked away and the other took care of me, I got my receipt and nothing else. No instructions, no waiver to sign (cool, if my kids get hurt they can pay my bills), no information. We stayed for 2 hours, which was plenty of time. My kids - ages 6 and 3 - liked the place, so the 3 stars are from them. I took off 2 stars for the staff (a lady made 2 quick rounds in the 2 hours we were there, but otherwise they were non-existent) and cleanliness. Look, it's a kid place, so I don't expect much, but certainly something can be done about the pervasive urine smell? Do not go here if you're a germaphobe or during cold and flu season! I saw two hand sanitizing stations and they were both by the eating area. At one point, I saw a mom wiping something up off the floor and then carrying her kid away. Staff never came out to further clean up the mystery mess. We might go back one more time, but I don't think my kids will beg for it. They did not complain about leaving. read more

I am starting my review a bit bias because I am in awe of Brandi and the struggles she has overcome in her life and to keep her business running you cant help but think so highly of her. I will not go into her personal business but if you google this business, you will see the history and the struggles. She is a very hard working mom of very young children making it all work on her own. KIM, is an excellent place for kids. There is so much to do there that your kids could spend the whole day and still want to go back for more. There are many rooms designated for play. Grocery store, Construction, Science, Theater Dress Up, Art, Games, Music, etc and in the center a huge playset. Great for parents too. Lots of couches and tables to sit at. Free WiFi, food, drinks and coffee to purchase. Can purchase snacks for the kids too if you did not pack your own. KIM offers programs for the kiddos too. My son did a LEGO camp this summer and he really liked it. The only con I have on that is I would have liked for the kids to learn to build something specific and worked on it. For example: "Today we are going to build this plane" and the kids learn step by step how to do this. Instead this program was more learning about a monument and trying to build it on your own and free building. KIM is clean and the workers are walking around constantly picking up after the kids. When there is a broken toy or dirty toy found, there are bags on the walls for the children to put these toys into so they can be cleaned, fixed or toss out so no one gets hurt. Family atmosphere and you can't but feel like you want to help because everyone is just so nice. We will be coming back when school is out. I really recommend if you have a child or children - it's a MUST SEE. read more

My son loves this place, but it can get really crazy when it's busy. There are areas that are getting run down (ex: the conveyor in the construction site no longer works and there are supposed to be bags (there never are) where you can put icky toys that your child puts in his or her mouth. When the weather is bad and your house seems like the walls are closing in on you, this is the perfect place to take the kiddos to burn off some energy. The indoor play-yard has different themed rooms around the perimeter, and smaller indoor play structure that is perfect for your pint sized kiddos...I would say walking to say age 6. The rooms include a theater, castle, grocery store, train room, 2 bean play rooms (construction and dinosaurs), play house, submarine, and diner with tables and a play kitchen. There is more than enough to keep my child entertained for couple of hours. All in all, the place is clean, but it could use some maintenance. You can tell the owners invested quite a bit of money to get the place up and running, but it's starting to show its age. Some toys are broken, the paint on some of the murals is chipping, and some features of the rooms might need some repair. Let's face it kids are hard on the environments they play in, so this is to somewhat be expected, but continual refreshing and touch ups are needed to keep the place in tip top shape. The place can be very crowded in winter on the weekends, but with the weather in MKE, we need places like this to save our sanity as parents. read more

I took my nanny kids here based off a recommendation from another nanny and so far I am very please. My boy is 3.5 and had a blast! This place is huge and chocked full of all sorts of activities! With over 10 small rooms with their own activities and the big climbing structure and toddler zone your kids cannot get bored. There's an acting room, castle room, super market, trains and planes, construction room, science room, art room, Dino dig and a treasure hut and maybe one or two more? Plus there's food! I have yet to try it but it smells good and when I do I will make an ETA. Also, as a caregiver or parent, there's lots of comfy seating for you to sit back and relax on. If you've got kids under 7 (probably) and you're looking for sornthutn to do on a raining day this is definitely an option! This place is amazing! So many little rooms for kids to explore. We've been coming here for a few years now and my four year old never gets board. There is plenty of sitting areas for adults, an indoor playground, themed rooms (trains, dinosaurs, a stage with dress up items and musical instruments, a play diner, a pretend submarine....etc) and a small area for little kids to play too and a giant light bright as well. My child loves that instead is a sand box they use dried beans to play in. Bubbles also go off like every 30 mins or so in one area. Super cute and fun idea You can bring in your own food and drinks. Several places deliver there as well. They also have a microwave that can be used. Kids wear socks all the time and adults when it's snowing. As of today it's $7 for my kid to get in but I recommend buying the 10 punch card for $55. It never expires and can be used any time. Also a bonus is that staff is wonderful. They bust their butts and it shows. Such a great place to spend the day! And my kid is always so tuckered out by the end. read more

As a mother of 3 boys, I can credit Kids in Motion to providing me many afternoons of sanity! There is so much to do and see that it will be years before my kids grow tired of it. There are a few pitfalls, but the fun to be had more than make up for them. KIM definitely has a little something for every kid. The main play area is divided into various themed rooms for children to explore. Kids can delve into the theater, a grocery store, a dinosaur bone dig, legos, trains, a restaurant, art projects, a construction site, and so much more! There is also a large, padded jungle gym with tubes and slides. For very small children, there is a small infant area in the middle of everything, so babies aren't trampled by older kids getting their energy out. One of the best aspects of this particular play place is that they allow outside food to be carried in. We've been to many places that restrict carry-ins and only offer unhealthy, overpriced snacks for purchase. There is even tables and booths for people to eat, which keeps food out of the play area. Food and beverages can be purchased there or be delivered from local eateries as well. as well. Though, I highly recommend taking advantage of their generous policy and bringing something from home instead. For the most part, all activities at KIM are free with the price of admission, with the exception of laser tag. However, to be perfectly honest, it is rarely used when we are there because there are so many other things to do. My children are not yet at an age where that appeals to them, so I cannot vouch for it being worth the additional fee. They also offer customers the opportunity to save a few bucks by buying packages of admission in bulk as well as a weekly half-priced nights. There are party rooms available for those interested in holding a birthday celebration or the like away from their home. It isn't a cheap date, but it is certainly competitively priced with other indoor play places. The one thing I will say needs improvement is the sanitation conditions. Children are by nature disgusting, germ-covered creatures, but we can pretty much bank on being sick after every visit. The worst areas are those filled with small beans for the kids to dig and play in. These are also some of the most popular spots. There is no real way to sanitize a huge pit of beans, so there's undoubtedly loads of viruses lingering around in them. The bathroom situation could also use a bit of work. I know that my boys are not good at wiping up stray urine streams or flushing the toilets at home, so I don't expect other people's kids to do so either. That said, I've seen an awful amount of pee and poop in the women's restroom and it often does not smell the best. I would highly encourage parents to accompany their kiddos in the bathroom areas to ensure they are tidying up after themselves. While I am never stoked about the inevitable cold or pink eye we tend to leave with, I don't intent to stop visiting. It is one of few fun, affordable spots for parents to watch their kiddos cut loose while resting on the comfy leather sofas provided for parents. There is also a small, private room for nursing moms, which is an awesome bonus for those uncomfortable with nursing openly. We are really fortunate to live close to KIM and I love that we have a little place to escape during the long Wisconsin winters and hot and humid summers. I definitely recommend anyone in the Brookfield/New Berlin/Waukesha/West Allis area check it out. read more

This is a nice place to take the kids to burn off energy. Comfy couches and generally clean, could use a bit more cleaning though. The kids love the play structure and themed rooms. The only issue is that too many parents let thier kids run too wild. Running into other kids, throwing toys in areas they don't belong. (Staff tries to put it all back but parents need to be more attentive and teach thier kids manners) my daughter had her hair pulled hard by another girl and the mother stood by laughing until I told my daughter to push her off of her or pull her hair back. So again out of the many times we go, the staff is great and the facility is nice but inattentive parents can ruin it. read more

This is one of the BEST places to take your children not only to play but to learn! There are so many on hands things that just keeps there mind going!! This place is for ALL ages from tiny pants that can't walk to teenagers. My children get so excited when I tell them we are going to Kids in Motion. I also love the fact that on weds they have a deal when you bring in can goods to help out the hungry! I think thats amazing!!! Thank you so much Brandi for you and your family creating such a wonderful place for our children to play and learn in! I do have one suggestion though...I think there should be some sort of swinging gate at the entrance of the play area walk in for little ones to not be able to escape. Seemed like a good place to go to at first.. we were wrong. We were all very excited to go, but left very disappointed. Kids were running all over the place.. perfect name- kids in motion. Bigger kids running smaller kids down. Kids bullying other kids. Kids running around without parents watching. I even heard a mother go into a themed room and say, "oh there you are, I was looking for you." Kids getting lost. A father went in to get his daughter who wet her pants while playing in the beans... on the beans with other kids putting beans in their mouths! I'm sure this place needs some deep cleaning. I'm sure kids get very sick. Kids taking toys out of themed rooms and then themed rooms having nothing in them. This place needs more supervision and order. We won't be coming back. read more

We took our three year old and one year old here for the first time a few weeks ago. We were looking for someplace my mom could come and watch the boys while we had something to do. This was fabulous and both boys had a great time! When we returned a few hours later they didn't want to leave and they hadn't even explored the entire place yet! My two grandsons 5 and 3 were visiting for the week and I was looking for fun places to go. I read the reviews and have to admit I was a little skeptical but decided to give it a try. We went on a Thursday late morning. We were there about 2 1/1 hours and during that time about 25 or so kids. The boys had a great time! So many different rooms and activities to explore not to mention the great climbing play area and the bubble blowers. The 5 year old especially loved the free Air Hockey, climbing area and dressing up like a fireman. The 3yr old loved the train room, bubbles and grocery store. I saw comments regarding health concerns about the beans used in various rooms but I think it is a great idea. Even if a little one would put it in their mouth/eat it won't harm them. There were only a small volume of beans on the floor right outside the play rooms. I thought the volume of beans in the rooms was just about right. In regard to cleanliness I saw no problems even the bathrooms were clean. Certainly the place isn't brand new but I saw no problem. Just a few critiques: Some of the items for pouring out peas/bean in the construction room are jammed and art supplies needed replenishing. Some of the dress up item do need to be replaced and I would recommend more boy and girl items. That being said my boys and others were totally enjoying dressing up I have a picture of him in his fireman hat, constriction vest and belt with pretend walkie talkie. A reminder to parents it is your responsibility to watch your children, give them room to socialize but also interact with them. They are precious gifts and only little once. We would definitely go again and my grandsons would totally agree. read more

Being able to bring in my own food was a dream since I had a spongebob theme I was able to do whatever I wanted. There are so many good things about Kids In Motion. One thing is the size- there's enough room for a large play area obstacle course for kids 4 and up- and off to the side there are rooms that have themes. I love that there's a small section that is for infants 15 months and younger. It's nice to have a space for young ones to crawl freely and safely away from the older kids who are busy running off their pent up energy. Overall, it serves the purpose of having a good sized space where kids of all ages can come during the winter months and be in motion. I didn't even get to see the whole space because the kiddo I was with was preoccupied with the seed room. My one note is that there didn't appear to be a lot of space for adults to supervise. So for example, in the seed room, there were 5 kids playing with the seeds and one of the kids started throwing them. No one was there to tell her not to, because there want room. The grown ups can be found sitting in the oversized pleather seats in the general play area or by the food tables. So that's just something to keep in mind with younger kiddos who may need more supervision. Otherwise, great area to play in! read more

I disagree with the comment above. Upon entering, they marked my hand with an invisible marker, as well as my sons. Prior to leaving, we were stopped and a black light was held over my hand and my son's to see if our markings matched. We were told this was policy to ensure people were not leaving with children that were not theirs. It appears they are still working on some of the rooms. The music room did have a small selection of instruments. They were also working on building a dinosaur room that was not yet done. Overall, for the price ($6.00 for a child over 1 and no charge to the parent, which is rare), it was a nice afternoon outing. read more

It's raining for the 4th day this week and your going stir crazy inside... What's a nanny to do?! KIDS IN MOTION it is!!! We come here to run off that extra pent up energy! There are several rooms themed out to the core. From a super market, acting, construction, dinosaurs, trains, art... There are at least 4 more I'm leaving out! Not to mention a huge play structure with slides, tunnels and those fun swinging punching bags! There is a nice, affordable cafe served by the friendly front desk staff. Tables to snack at if you choose to order something or bring in your snacks! We usually spend at least two hours here when we visit if not longer! read more

The girls I watch really love coming here, and it's fun. Only four stars however, because I wish they had more options in the art room. There also seems to be very little staff around cleaning / putting things back where they belong, so things are all over the place. Also, It can get really hectic at times when a lot of kids come, the website let's you know when field trips are scheduled to come (awesome!) so be sure to check.
