It was 82° outside, and a muggy 80° inside, and not getting any cooler even though the thermostat was set at 78°. The outside unit was not running at all. So we looked for an emergency AC service, and when we called Air Hawk, the owner answered the phone. Joe was pleasant, and after taking all my information, he told me Gary would be out between 2-5 to diagnose the problem. This was in sharp contrast to other calls we made and either an answering machine took our call or someone said a tech would get back to us, and didn't. Gary arrived at 2:50. He discovered a Freon leak. After putting in 3 pounds of Freon (it's not cheap), he found the leak in the condenser coil. That repair won't be cheap, but the part is under warranty. We'll only pay for labor when the part is ordered & put in. The job was done at 4:20, and the temperature inside was a cool 76°. We were so impressed with this company that we purchased the annual service agreement for a reasonable cost. We look forward to having our HVAC system serviced by Air Hawk! read more

After using them numerous times over the past years, they tried to charge me $7,300 for a 1 and 1/2 ton unit. That was the 'cheap' solution. You can decide if this is a fair price on your own, but it is double what I have paid in the past. read more

They did good work and completed it quickly. My rating is lower because: a) They were very expensive @$12,000. b) They wasted my time promising me a rebate from Duke Energy. After considerable effort I learned that they are not eligible to do an AC replacement that qualifies for Duke Energy's rebate. I think they should know that (and probably do). c) I see on their website that they offer discounts for seniors - they certainly didn't offer me that discount or any other. So my system was 12yo and originally needed a recharge after freezing up. Decided to just replace it and install a Rheem, I am brand loyal like that! When investing this amount I always get a few estimates, so I got five, and let me tell you it was an experience. When you tell someone that you are getting other estimates and they aren't receptive I ELIMINATE them from consideration. If they talk bad about their competitors ELIMINATE them from consideration. When telling someone specifically what you want and they still try to upsell you ELIMINATE them because they are not listening to you! When I told a much larger company I was selecting Air Hawk they asked for the opportunity to match. They couldn't give me the equipment and price of Air Hawk. That's four out of five. Along comes, Air Hawk Heating & Cooling and happiness rang across the land. Not only was the initial inspection professionally done I was asked to accompany the technician as he did his job to explain the what, why, and how of the equipment I wanted. I also replaced a gas furnace which took a while to come in, but the staff kept me informed of their search and would schedule the installation the moment they received the final piece for the system. I was in no hurry as the recharge was holding up. My installation team consisted of Raymond Miller and Nico Martinez who were on time and ready to go. They completed the upstairs unit first so I would have service while they worked on the downstairs unit. The downstairs installation delivered a small hiccup but, the team was troubleshooting every detail and kept grinding to get the job done. They were not leaving until they had everything up and running (their words not mine) and as a former Soldier, I appreciate that type of dedication to accomplishing the mission. It was about 9 pm when my NEST thermostat powered, the 5T was humming, and they cleaned up. Air Hawk did not disappoint me at all, from the estimate, pricing, installation, and clean up they are First Team to me and I will sing their praises to anyone who needs HVAC service! I must also thank Chris in the office who answered my every question and another young lady who cannot remember her name (my apologies) and another technician who came later to assist Raymond. HOMEOWNERS BEWARE ... I contacted this company to service an older air conditioner for a home I just purchased. In less than 10 minutes, I was informed the unit had a leak and was so old, that the cost of freon was over $1,000 as freon for older units was no longer made, and the cost of repair to the unit would be over $4,000. At the same time, I was informed the unit violated the county code as the unit was sitting on dirt instead of the required cement block so it would be sitting above ground level. Three times, the technician a/k/a "salesman" told me the cost of my monthly electric bill would be over $350 for a 1400 sq ft home. Immediately, the requested service turned into a sales pitch, and by the end of the visit, I was given a quote for $8,900 to replace the entire unit. Then, emailed me a quote with approved financing (something I never applied for) for three years, and all I had to do was "accept" the emailed quote" while the salesman waited. Thankfully, I decided to obtain a second quote, and for $280 I had the unit cleaned, serviced, and confirmed the unit was ONLY how of freon, and once cleaned, the unit can be seen sitting above ground on a cement block. read more

August 2022 I purchased and had installed a heat-pump AC unit. Upon returning from vacation, with a $600.+ electric bill, I learned that the installer reversed the AC and HEAT wires! They came out in September and corrected the problem. Only, now in August 2023 BOTH of the safety cut offs failed, causing a hallway, closets and bedroom floors to be flooded! I called Air Hawk, inquiring about an insurance claim, since the system they installed failed, and Jason came out took pictures and said I would receive a call. No call, when I called, I was told the person in charge was not available! Never heard from anyone. Today, I received an email asking to take down my YELP review, because the situation was handled? Rheem airconditoning unit was purchased from AIR HAWK airconditioning and cooling, installed on June 12, 2019. 2 weeks after we were having a problem with the connection in the thermostat. apparently, the installer did a bad job with connection. In 2 years, June2, 2021 to be exact, the new AC unit they installed stopped cooling. THE UNIT IS BARELY 2 YEARS OLD. The technician that came had to bill us $599.00 to change the evaporative coil and for his labor. today, july 30, 2022, we have another problem; i.e.; we need to change the evaporative coil (AGAIN) and freon has to be replenished!!! A new RHEEM A/C unit has a warranty of 15 years. how in the world are we getting all these defects in our unit that is only 3 years old? How many more parts and services costs are we to incur before the 15 years warranty is met for this unit that was installed by AIR HAWK. I am inclined to suspect the unit they installed is already defective prior to installation. I TRULY HOPE THE MANAGER WILL GIVE US A REASONABLE EXPLANATION. the installer is responsible for problems the unit causes. we know the installer can return a defective unit to the manufacturer. we should not be paying for defective parts as we bought a NEW UNIT. read more

Unfortunately I can't give negative stars. Don't take my word for it. Look at complaints on the BBB website! I filed a complaint to the BBB! They don't care! I have been going back and forth with this company regarding a new ac unit that I purchased on December 2021. In September 2022, I called for service because ac was not cooling off my condo. First of all no one called me back. Maybe because it was Labor day weekend. I finally got someone and the first technician said that I had no freon in the compresser. He filled it back up with freon and stated they needed to order a part and the freon should be fine until part came in. 1-2 days later I had the same problem. Another technician came out and said he welded the line and added freon again. No part has been replaced. June 2023 my ac not working again! Technician came out and added more freon! I told technician not paying. Have manager call me. No call back July 2, 2023 my ac not working again! Called for service again. Was told no service during holiday weekend! I had to stay at my neighbors condo. Had to call again on Monday July 3rd and was told I would have to wait that they were busy. I finally called another ac company and they came out immediately. I spoke to Ryan (Service Manager). I asked him why this part hasn't been replaced all this time. I spoke with Ryan 3x's to replace the part and not to charge me labor because it should have been done while I was under labor and parts warranty. He said he had to speak to owner. I called when I didn't hear back from him as he promised. Said he would call me back the next day again and didn't! I'm just getting the run around. July 12, 2023. They just replaced my 30+ yr old AC, put in all new duct work,and everything else that was needed. They are the most professional company that I have dealt with since moving back to Fl. If I could give 0 stars I would, I bought a unit from this company because of the price and I guess that should've been the first sign, they are cheap for a reason.. I got a brand new unit installed and a couple of weeks ago and today the temperature in my home keeps going up, I have a 6 month old baby and the house is burning hot, I called the service department and they told me it doesn't matter that I got a new unit installed, they can come wheb they can and in this case is tomorrow at the end of the day with Florida summer weather, so basically two days with this hot temperature, they told me service calls are in order so all that says to me is that they rather make money off of regular calls rather than taking care of a call where they can't make any money.. a brand new unit failing should be top priority! It ridiculous! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! You will regret it, there are better companies out there, I definitely made huge mistake but this is not over! Do not give this people your hard earned money, that's all they care about, once you've paid for a brand new unit you're just another number and they'll get to you when they get to you, that's what the person on the phone told me after speaking to her "supervisor". One of our units stopped working and the home insurance people would only send the bottom of the barrel and make you wait a week for an appointment. Not acceptable. Call Air Hawk and they send someone out the next day and we had a major problem and was almost as much to fix and it was to replace the unit. Since the unit was nearing end of life anyways we went with a new unit. They were able to install a few days later and took only a few hours. Did a nice job and cleaned up afterwards. Had an issue 2 weeks later and then send a tech out that day and he was able to replace a faulty circuit in little time and no charge. Of the three other vendors, two quoted much higher prices and the third was a no show! I made sure to compare identically sized and rated equipment; Air Hawk won hands down. The three installers were extremely professional, wore booties while in the house (I replaced ducts as well as having a new AC and took the time to answer my questions and show me how to use the new thermostat. They honored their warrantee, repaired the system, replaced the Sheetrock, textured the ceiling and painted. When they were done, you couldn't tell that any repair had been made. 4/2019 air hawk improperly installed our ac unit and ignored our pleas to fix it. The unit doesn't cool the house to the desired temperature set on thermostat. They told us that "its normal" to not reach the desired temp"! (That's not normal). After 3 visits to try and fix their sub par install the unit still doesn't work. They tried to upsell us new duct work stating that our duct work is our main issue! (Our duct work is absolutely fine and is not the issue). Our static pressure in the unit is far above what it's supposed to be so their tech compromised our fan speed to try to bring the pressure down. The tech left and the pressure was still above where it needed to be. (Which is really shotty work). These are only a few of the issues we've had. After texting and calling the owner Joe Massa, he then started taunting and mocking our pleas for help. We've now had to consult our attorney and we rehired a different local reputable contractor for service. Air Hawk went against our contract. We will file with Rheem and the bbb as well as several social media channels including YouTube of their poor worksmanship. Please don't be fooled by their false positive reviews. I've found several complaints against their company. Your best bet is family, friends, and Facebook Recommendation groups from your local city such as New Port Richey Exchange where you can ask for recommendations. Please do your research. *The owner has been responding with condescending fake answers to my reviews of his shotty company. Ironic enough he can't answer my calls or texts for help after spending $6000 on a new unit he doesn't want to deal with. Joe arrived promptly and took the time to put on shoe covers as to not track anything in my house. He took a minute or two to explain what he would do. He worked quickly and quietly as to not disturb me since I work from home. He completed the job in about roughly 25 minutes or so, explained the results, and took payment at that time. I just had AirHawk come out. I could not recommend them enough! I had an issue with the AC blowing hot air after a neighbor hood power outage/surge. Several neighbors suggested our thermostat needed to be reset but we don't have the owners manual and ours seemed different than everyone else's. We are newer home ow era as well. AirHawk came out, the repair man (Billy who was professional and friendly!!) figured it out and showed me how to reset it (and had me write it down for reference). We're back in business! Charged $300 just to add 3 pounds of refrigerant. What a rip off. Of course, you get the bill after the work is done. Considering the fact that R-22 refrigerant costs about $25 a pound online, you can see how bad the rip off was. If you have them out, get the quote upfront. Caveat emptor. read more

My dyer vent had never been cleaned in the eight years that we owned this home (yeah, don't be that guy like me!!) so I decided it was about time to get that done. Air Hawk regularly services my A.C. for about 3 years now so I knew their work is always top notch. Well, today's visit was no exception either. Billy Hanna and his side kick (sorry I forgot the name) came out today to clean the vent. Just as I expected: awesome! They were in and out in about 35 to 40 minutes and friendly/professional. In addition to today's visit, Air Hawk came to my house last week to service my air handler because the blower motor stopped running. Of course it happened during a very cold snap we were having that week. My technician was Richard and he had my unit fixed and back running in about 45 minutes.
