Date: June 2026 - I use Caldeco after my best friend used it. She was single at the time. Lived alone. She's tiny. And I figured if she liked this c ompany working on her house of 10 years so woudl I. I LOVE this company. And they have a service agreement where you can get TWICE yearly maintenance AND other perks - like emergency repair etc. I will use them when my A/C dies and needs replacement. I don't bounce companies - ever. I am very loyal to a company unless they give me a reason not to be. Caldeco is SO trustworthy. I allow them in my place - without me present - and the job is ALWAYS done correctly. They have never tried to do an upsell on me - they are always professional and their home tech guys are AWESOME. I have always had excellent service from this contractor UNTIL today. I called to get an appointment to have someone come out a give me a quote for my installing an exhaust fan for my attic. If I could give zero stars I would.... A technician came to my home this week to do a "diagnostic" on my system to determine what the issue was with my HVAC unit that was not cooling. After doing his examination of my HVAC system he tells me that it's a "bad coil" and needs to be replaced. I ask the cost and he says $3k-$4k... he's not sure. Also tells me our motor is "going bad" and will be another $1500-$2k. After he puts my system back together I pay him the $89 diagnostic fee and tell him that because of the big price tag we'll be getting a second opinion. He starts to backtrack and says "well it might only be $2k for the coil, I'm not sure. They'll call you tomorrow with a quote".... This is where it gets good. They NEVER CALLED WITH A QUOTE, period. I called another company for a diagnostic. They came out the next day and noticed that the drain float was tripped causing the system to shut off. They used a shop vac to clear the drain line and my temp went from 89 degrees to 75 degrees in a few hours. $249 was the charge from the second company. Caldeco refused to refund the $89 diagnostic regardless of the negligence of their technician. Don't waste your time folks read more

Beware of Caldeco. Unprofessional and unethical company! Our two-year old compressor blew. It was under warranty (took them days to confirm this when a quick internet search could do it). Still quoted us $1,800 for labor and refrigerant. After waiting two weeks, they sent out two techs who didn't have expertise with a water cooling system. Told us that a supervisor would have to come out and we would have to pay an additional $2,000. This new quote is more than half of what we paid for the entire system 2 years ago. Fantastic experience with this company. Used them once before for a service call, but this time was routine maintenance. Techs spent 2 1/2 hours cleaning, tuning up, and checking every last component of the HVAC system. Only downside was it was a very long lead time for an appointment. I recently utilized Caldeco for purchasing and installing a new Carrier air conditioning unit in my house. While it was not the lowest quote I had received, I felt that it was more thorough and detailed than my other quote, and decided to go with them. My salesman Reiss was very patient in describing exactly what I would be getting, and why it would be the best system for my old house. The technicians sent were excellent. Patrick and Carlos were polite, professional the entire time, and I appreciate that they listened to my questions and gave me detailed answers. I loved that they never seemed uncertain with what they were doing - everything was very methodical and matter of fact. They showed up at 8:15 am - exactly on time, and were finished by 3:15-ish - which was in fact quicker than I had been told to expect. Plus, cleanup was perfect. There were some slight glitches along the way-at the end, I had to wait around for the Carrier special filter installation, and the tech for that didn't know which way the specialty filter should face?! But, all in all, it was a far better experience than I had prepared myself for, my new air conditioning works perfectly, and I would definitely recommend Caldeco to anyone interested in having a new A/C system installed. read more

Our air conditioner broke at a rental property with a family and four small children , Caldeco was able to send someone right out since it was something that needed immediate attention which we were grateful for . When the tech came out he told us we needed a new air conditioner and would have a sales person come out the following day to price out a new unit . With a family living in the rental with a newborn who desperately needed a/c we called another a/c company who came out and repaired the unit and found that it didn't need replacing just a minor repair . Though I understand the money is in the replacement and not in the repair, It's my opinion that ethically the repair should come first or possibly send out another tech for a second opinion before requiring the costly replacement as some techs may have more experience than others . read more

Nightmare situation today with Caldeco Air! 4th of July weekend and Ripping Off local customers!! Leaving Negative Reviews online is not something I do often or even like to do, but in this case warning others about Caldeco Air is completely warranted. I won't go into all the details unless it is necessary at a later date (including getting my property manager and tenant involved), but will leave it at: Caldeco tried charging me 56% more for a simple repair that another company came in and completed in 15 minutes. They also tried to charge an additional $150 (Rick the technician said he was able to get it down to $100 for me) to do what the other company did in 1/4 hour. I believe the manager's name was Paul - should remember since he told me "make sure you spell my name right when you leave your review." After getting off the phone with Paul, my tenant, property manager and I all made calls to different companies and none were in the same cost ballpark as Caldeco! (in fact , they were on average 40% less and this doesn't even include the extra $100/$150 Caldeco wanted to charge for 15 minutes work!! Save your time and money and STAY AWAY form these people! Feeling Fortunate they only got me for the $89 Service Call - it could have been a LOT worse!! read more

Very friendly, Professional & fast! I called around 7pm and a tech was out by 8 that same evening. He was also able to find the problem within 30 minutes when another company looked for hours & could Not find the problem. They also send you a picture of the person coming to your home before they arrive in addition to the date their last background check was complete. All-around great service! Called for help at 6, the AC quit working just a few days after they came to service. The motor was shorted out. When I requested help, the lovely lady answering the phone called Paul--who then said to tell me they had no one available and they'd come the following day. Only to find out that they were also booked the following day and Paul said that was "too bad". After being in PPE at work all day, you'd think they could at least come diagnose and get parts order... I told them to cancel our plan and we were firing them. An hour later, I was called and told "we're trying to make you happy, so we have someone who can come tonight"...already had someone at our home from ACS attempting to get the motor going again, it's dead. Ironic that the technician who came only days before didn't notice the BURN SMELL & BLACK MARKS around the motor. My husband had asked if this was an issue, technician said normal. We had our AC heat pump replaced a few months ago by Caldeco. They also replaced our old leaky ducts. The installers did a great job and took great effort to be neat and clean up during a messy job. Our new Carrier system works very efficiently and the electric bill has declined dramatically. Our only issue was with the thermostat which they changed out and resolved that problem. Returned home after being away to find that my air conditioning wasn't working. Since the fan was running I thought it actually was working but as the night dragged on it was clear that it was not. I had 2 units replaced in my home April 2022 and July 2022. My experience with the installers were amazing. I had an issued with one of my previous units that the installers repaired and went above and beyond. They took their time to explain how to use the new system. I paid with my credit cards for both installation and felt great about my units. My nightmare was with JC who was very unprofessional and rude calling accusing me of not paying a balance. It was annoying because this is $25,000. later, there is a better way to approach a customer for a July installation in December. He proceeded to tell me I couldn't get the extended warranty because I was outside the 6 months window. Why should I have to be punished for his inadequacy, if it took him this long to realize there was an accounting issue? There was no apology or accountability just accusations and unprofessionalism. I scheduled my appointment for Friday 4/2 at 8:30 am. when they had not arrIved by 8:40, I decided to call. it turns out they rescheduled me for 10:00 but did not notify me. My handler is in the attic with access through my closet. I had emptied out the closet, which is such a hassle. it seems just common decency to not treat others as a insignificant and worthless. What a fantastic experience with this company today! They were able to offer me an earlier appointment and when the tech arrived he was in uniform and very friendly. Our tech, Nelson, was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and personable. We have an ac unit that is older and the worry is that a company will automatically try to sell you a new one. Not the case in this situation. Our tech was very thorough and took his time to properly diagnose the issues and make the necessary repairs and service the unit needed all while being realistic about what we may expect based on the age of the unit. I had dealt with the of the Carrier five star dealer in Tampa CGM Services Inc. for years and had a very bad experience with one of the owners Mr. Charles, who was dealing with a huge employee theft and fraud ring at the time and was under alot of stress and was very rude to me. I promptly called up Caldeco and they have had my HVAC business since that bad experience ever since. Scammers, and rude be aware! They charge you a $90 diagnostic fee, but do not check all the system as they claim they do. Main problem was the capacitor, so that was changed (diagnostic fee + capacitor part+ labor + Freon = $300). Everything would be fine, but three months later we found out there was a Freon leak. I called the manager and was advised that "diagnostic" does not include checking for leaks necessarily; however, he claims they checked "the whole system" but there was no reason checking for leaks, so they did not. No clear answer on what exactly does the diagnostic fee includes. So, I paid the diagnostic fee that does not include diagnostics?!?! Manager offered to send a technician for ANOTHER diagnostic fee, claiming he knows "what I am trying to do here." No, Thank YOU! read more

After reading a wide range of reviews, I had to share my experience with Caldeco. Our builder-installed AC had to be replaced after 11 yrs. The repair would be 60% of the cost of a new unit. Plus Puron refrigerant is being mandated by law to replace the old freon (?). After researching AC brands (American Standard, Trane, Carrier etc), we decided on Carrier. I leveraged the AHRI as well. I then checked local AC companies on Better Business Bureau. I had 3 companies come out and bid on the job. Caldeco won the bid, giving us more for the money. We purchased the air-handler with gas furnace, a condensing unit (the outside thing), and dual programable thermostats (one with humidity control). The removal of the old, and install did take an entire day, but the problems they encountered were related to the builder making the AC closet upstairs so ridiculously tight. The connections etc were nearly impossible due to lack of room and placement of drain lines, venting, gas hook-ups by the builder. We have a detached garage (35 feet from the home), in case you are wondering why it's not in there. There was a team of two to start the job, then when they hit the challenging problems they leveraged a brilliant guy called Uncle Joe, who was there in minutes. He put his two cents in, and we were back in business. We decided to cut into the drywall and re-route what the builder did to accommodate the new unit. They all had good attitudes, worked very well together (respectful etc), and worked hard (it was June). Caldeco had a guy come out and repair the drywall like new. They got the job done, they had it inspected (county?), and they gave us a 2 week quality assurance (check-up) visit. I believe we got a free one-year tune-up too. They are good people. read more

Huge shoutout to Caldeco! Almost 40 weeks pregnant in the middle of July and the a/c starts to have issues... within 2 hours of my call, everything was fixed! We recently had an Infinity Carrier air conditioner installed by Caldeco service technicians, Alex and Danny. The technicians showed up on time, were very knowledgeable, and precise in their work. They were here for three days and worked non-stop. They also explained everything they were doing, and if we had any questions, they gladly answered them. Every day before leavijng, they cleaned up after themselves. We were very happy with their work. As for the air conditioner, it is wonderful to have such a great product, installed correctly. As a whole, Caldeco was honest and flexible throughout my whole A/C replacement. Caldeco was the only company who game me an honest estimate. When Steve initially came to do the estimate, he was extremely professional (wore shoe covers, measured the house, pointed out problem areas). I had to reschedule the replacement several times and each time Steve was understanding and accommodating. The two men who came to physically replace the A/C were also very professional.
