Don't buy into the friendly exterior. Wayne seemed truly great until I told him, with my thanks for his efforts, that I was going to book a less-expensive option. Wow, did he flip! He started spouting all kinds of nasty nonsense to scare me away from other options--including that I'd probably miss my flight... and even that I might get sexually assaulted in the car!!!--and then he hung up on me. It is absolutely unacceptable to prey on someone's vulnerability as a way to scare them into using a service. And the fact that he seemed exceptionally courteous but only until he lost a sale, is truly disgusting. Don't trust his facade. He's awful. read more

I just got off the phone with this company to ask how much it is for a one way trip from Jacksonville Airport to St. Augustine. It's $120 plus gratuity. They don't offered shared rides/vans/shuttles. I said that I was hoping for a shared ride and he said they don't do that anymore because they are short on drivers. Then he says, "don't take an Uber or Lyft - they are dangerous. they pick you up drunk or try to kiss or touch you". I then asked if there were certain concerns about the ride share drivers in the area and he said "we just care about our customers". I understand caring about customers, but unless there are police reports that you can share regarding rides along this route, please don't share your personal feelings about Ubers and scare off visitors. Note this review is for Airport EXPRESS of St. Augustine; (this is a different company than Airport Shuttle of St. Augustine). Excellent service. I have used this service over a dozen times due to traveling from New Hampshire to JAX. The transportation from JAX to my St. Augustine destination is always a breeze. Always goes above and beyond with communication. Easy to use website. Confirmation via email of available driver within an hour (often much shorter) of your online request with subsequent link to pay. I really like that you do not put in any payment information until it's verified that there is a driver for your requested time. Wayne then calls to verify details again within 24 hours of making the reservation and then also calls you the day before your scheduled reservation to re-confirm. This gives a lot of peace of mind compared to other services I have encountered. The drivers have always been early and call shortly before their expected arrival. They have all been conscientious and helpful. Very comfortable vehicles. read more

We arranged a pick up from airport express and our flight was delayed. We called the company to inform them of our flight change and proceeded with our flight. When we arrived (1 hour late) we received a voice message asking us to call the driver. (Jerry ) the driver informed us that he would be there shortly. After waiting 30 minutes we called and were told he would be there in 20 minutes and informed us he had another client to pickup. A total of 1 hour later he showed up and got into a verbal altercation with my husband. Stating he had been working for 3 days straight and he proceeded to be verbally combative, and hostile. He told is to call a cab if we wanted. The other limo drivers in the area heard the encounter and came over to apologize to us regarding this mans behavior. This was by far the worst experience my husband and I have ever encountered. Stay away. We waited for our pickup for more than 1 1/2 hours! read more

Absolute worst! Do not use. 45 minutes late picking us up from airport. Return pickup from hotel had another passenger in van when we were told this was a private door to door service. Tried to make us sign for $20 tip automatically added to bill! When the driver suggested I call the company, owner Wayne started arguing and yelling at me...unbelievable! Both drivers were very nice. My boyfriend and I used Airport Express from St. Augustine to Jacksonville airport. I was a bit nervous because there weren't many Yelp reviews but the entire experience was excellent. I booked over the phone 24 hours in advance for door to door service. Our driver, Jerry, was punctual and even called me on his way to pick us up to let me know when he would be arriving. Jerry was very friendly and made sure we were comfortable with the temperature in the van. He also appeared to be up to date on traffic and knew the best route to take to get us to the airport with plenty of time to catch our flight. I traveled from Cleveland to St. Augustine to witness my brother's wedding. I had a a lot to do the day after the wedding so I decided to schedule an extremely early flight. When I was picked up by the driver, I noticed that many of the lights on the dashboard that indicate engine problems were lit on the dashboard. The beginning of the drive went well and it was really early in the morning, so I decided to take a nap in the back seat. I woke up as the car began to slow down and came to a stop. Assuming that I had arrived at the airport I sat up and gathered my things. I looked out the window only to realize that I was not at the airport. The driver seemed frazzled as he called his manager. The car was about 20 minutes from the airport. I realized that the car was now broken. As I listened to the phone call, I told the driver that I could not miss my flight. The driver called a cab. I waited in the car for the cab as the driver looked at the engine. Because I was nervous I would miss her flight, I got out of the car every 10 or so minutes to get an update. For those of you that have driven to the Jacksonville airport, the freeway is not well lit. The location in which the car had stopped working is not very populated and at 5:30 in the morning, it is extremely dark. For a 100 pound women in the middle of nowhere, in a car with a complete stranger, this situation is extremely scary. I had no way to get to the airport, no way to get somewhere where I could feel safe. After and hour, it was clear that I had missed my flight. The driver looked at me and said "Looks like my boss is buying you a new flight". After some persuasion, the boss (Wayne) agreed to drive from St. Augustine to pick me up and take me to the airport. After an hour and a half of being stranded on the side of a freeway in under a pitch black night sky, I was picked up by Wayne. While it may seem like I was rescued, this is when the story takes a turn for the worse. By the time Wayne picked me up, I had already missed her flight. I was pretty upset by missing my flight and asked Wayne why he sent out a car that had the check engine light (and several other lights) lit up on the dash. Wayne stated that the car was in the shop 13 hours ago and refused to pay the $3000 dollars to have the light turned off. (Side note: while this is a questionably appropriate behavior for someone's personal car, this is completely inappropriate for a car that is used for a business). I believed that I deserved some retribution from losing an entire day (I landed in Cleveland 10 hours after I had expected). When I voiced my beliefs, Wayne got angry. You won't like Wayne when he is angry. As seen above, the majority of the reviews discuss Wayne screaming and yelling. That is exactly what happened to me. While driving to the airport, Wayne searched through his phone to attempt to call his wife (who apparently is a lawyer). He stated that he was also inconvenienced because he had to drive me to the airport (which is what she paid for). Wayne offered to pay the difference between the two flights. That difference was less than $5. I called my brother to tell him what happened. He told me that he would contact Wayne and try to appeal to his reasonable side. My brother told me that the conversation was pleasant and that we were going to be able to come to a mutual agreement. The next day my brother received a voicemail that Wayne would compensate me with a very small amount of money. I told my brother to tell Wayne that "he clearly needs the money more than me" and to reject the offer. My brother also told him that I was going to write a review on social media. Apparently, Wayne got mad and yelled at my brother. This does not surprise me because he had already yelled at me earlier Airport Express St. Augustine sends out cars to pick up customers that have not been serviced correctly. When I complained about her horrible experience Wayne yelled at me and threatened to sue me on several occasions. Wayne also yelled at my brother and threatened his first amendment rights. I had a horrible experience. I felt as though my money was more important to them than my safety. Update: my review was not about money. I wanted to post my experience as a warning to others about how Airport Express St Augustine treats their customers. As you can see in other reviews I was not the only person that has been yelled at by Wayne. I would encourage Yelp subscribers to read through all reviews and form their own opinion. This was my experience and it seems others have had similar issues. I hope future travelers make the right decision for them and do not have the same experience. I would recommend choosing a different shuttle company. read more

We needed a shuttle from Jacksonville airport to St Augustine. Wayne was our driver. We called last minute and had prompt, caring and professional service. It was also less expensive than any other shuttle service we called previously. The driver gave us tips on the area, places to eat and even a few fun stories of the haunted city. So... I used them several times. the four times I have spoken to the owner, Wayne, he started screaming at me. My plane was delayed to to storms and they left me stranded at the airport, telling me they didn't have anyone available to pick me up, after they had already charged my card. Flight delays are the nature of the business and if you can deal with them, then find another job. The drivers are nice and they did eventually refund my credit card, but I still had to find a way home at 2 AM. read more
