I'm three years post-op, and while I followed every instruction for recovery and was praised during my check-ups for how well I was healing, I'm just not happy with the results. I had work done on my abdomen, sides, and a small section of my back (which was included for free). At my final check-up, I expressed my dissatisfaction; the clinic's policy states that if a patient is unhappy, they will address it and redo the procedure at no cost. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I told the doctor I still had a noticeable pooch on my lower abdomen and sides, feeling like they hadn't removed enough fat. He dismissed my concerns, saying that because the back work was done for free, I shouldn't worry, and he refused to redo it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Additionally, I was assured that fat wouldn't return to my stomach area, but despite maintaining a healthy diet and exercise routine, I've clearly gained weight there. Beware if you're considering this location. My wife had a procedure done here, and only a few hours after surgery she had to be rushed to the ER due to severe bleeding. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We later learned that there is no real aftercare contact system -- no one available after hours to help with urgent issues.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We made a follow-up appointment the next day, but the nurses barely glanced at her wound. We were in the office for less than 15 minutes, and her surgeon (who is rarely on-site during the week) communicated only by text message, dismissing our concerns as "normal" without ever seeing her in person. Days later, she was still bleeding so badly that she almost required a blood transfusion, leading to a second ER visit. Another follow-up appointment at AirSculpt was no better -- once again, a nurse said everything looked fine, despite the ongoing issues. Weeks later, when she finally began to heal, we discovered that a piece of surgical equipment used to close her wound had been left inside her. Let me just preface this with Dr. Vega and her nurse Alana, changed my life. 3 months ago I couldn't look at myself in the mirror. I couldn't wear the bathing suits I liked, I couldn't take photos with my loved ones on summer vacation, and I just honestly was not loving the way I looked. I was rewatching a video of myself my boyfriend took of me on a fishing trip and I was disgusted. In the pit of my stomach I felt like I couldn't do anything about it... anytime I did the working out or the eating right it ended with my own disappointment. I explained the feelings to a friend and she explained how she had been there before and fell for the gimmicks like body wraps and cool sculpting which never really worked. Eventually she tried airsculpt and it changed her life. I did a quick google search and found AirSculpt Charlotte. I read the reviews, read the doctor's bios and scheduled my free online consultation. Three days later I was at the office at my pre-op appointment. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Alana, the nurse, handled my anxiety so well and had the sweetest most professional demeanor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]She explained her experiences, how long she had worked with Dr. Vega and listened intently to everything I had to say.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Next, Dr. Vega came in and sat with me, drew on me the exact areas I was having worked on (full back, full abdomen, bra rolls, inner thighs), explained the procedure and really got to know me before we went back. I was absolutely settled and comfortable before we moved forward with anything. The procedure itself went smoothly! I didn't feel a thing, as you are awake for the procedure, and they played music and spoke with me whole time, I am actually quite sure I was telling jokes and laughing during the procedure. After the procedure I went home, took some ibuprofen and Tylenol and took a 2 hour nap. Woke up feeling fine, just sore. I am a nurse myself, I had a 12 hour shift the next day, and while I don't suggest it I will say it is entirely possible, just make sure you stay on top of your ibuprofen and Tylenol. Fast forward two weeks, I can finally take the garment off, and I'm heading off for a trip to Ireland. I was just fine! Riding horses for 7 days straight and scuba dove. I picked up an amazing workout regime and when I tell you I am my best self I hope you believe it. I am the definition of snatched now. I couldn't be happier with the decision to go to Dr. Vega at Airsculpt Charlotte. They changed my life for the better. I can wear the clothes I didn't feel comfortable in before... I have done a review 3 months ago because they offered a lot of incentives. [[HIGHLIGHT]]However at my 6 month appointment I was extremely disappointed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I have read so many reviews online about how hard they are about working with you after the surgery when you need revisions and the reviews are true. There has been a huge miscommunication from the very beginning about the parts that would be targeted during my surgery and they do not want to take responsibility for it. Wow! My experience was "as advertised." On Friday, November 4, 2022, I had the Elite Body Sculpture air sculpting procedure! It was terrific (gentle, painless, and with no incisions)! I am an active, retired 62-year-old African American female with diabetes; therefore, "no incisions" appealed to me. Dr. Chris Crawford at Elite Body Sculpture in Charlotte, NC, is brilliant and has excellent bedside manners. During my pre-op meeting, he was relaxed, listened to my concerns, answered my questions, and offered procedural options. Communication with the staff was excellent! If you are able to work with Francesca, Sophia, or Ka'ren, you will feel like you are their only patient! Staff members are professional, knowledgeable, and kind. The cost was slightly higher than similar procedures, but it is worth every penny! I was fortunate to take advantage of the whole abdomen bundle deal (upper, lower, waist, & love handles), and I added the back bra roll. The cost was reasonable. You receive everything you need before leaving Elite. However, I found it helpful to purchase the following: * A second compression garment and additional padding/foam. * A washable pad and a disposable pad to protect my bed, chairs, etc. * A bar of Gold Dial soap for showers. I was so excited to learn (again, "as advertised") that I could continue my activities within 24-48 hours. My routine includes a daily workout and hitting my maximum steps; both are important for managing my diabetes and overall health. I was able to return to my training on day 2! I have experienced no downtime and no pain. NOTE: I increased my water intake from 64 to 96 oz.to assist with my recovery. Today, I decided to pause long enough to write this review with the hopes that it will help someone researching the different methods of body sculpturing. Updated review post procedure - My experience with this office leaves me with mixed feelings. The day of my procedure was excellent. I received great care from my doctor, and would use him for other procedures in the future. I was disappointed that my doctor wasn't at my post-op visits as I'd been told, but the nurses emphasized how important these visits are, so I made sure to travel from DC to Charlotte to make them. I was disappointed once again to realize that what they did could have been done via Zoom. I was pleased that the doctor was at the final post-op visit where it was decided that a complimentary revision of the procedure would be appropriate as there was still an area that could be focused on to achieve optimal results. Once I received my quote for the complimentary revision I saw that I was being charged an additional $2,500. I felt like I was being upsold. I know it's lucrative for the businesses when customers come back and add new services as they tweak prior services, but to me this was saying "I know you didn't get the results you paid for, so we'll do it again - but if you want the best results you have to pay a little more." After a bunch of phone tag and frustration I finally spoke to someone who said they would have their manager call me the next business day to discuss what could be done about this additional charge. It's been a full week and I have yet to receive that call. I understand we all get busy, but even with empathy I can say that I have been thoroughly disappointed by the communication of the office staff. I still don't have my Before and After photos that were promised at my last visit and on subsequent calls, and that's basically been my experience. As the customer I shouldn't have to continually track anyone down for correspondence. I'm sure everyone will be readily available when it's time to collect more money :( read more
