August 12 I paid for an acrylic full set and pedicure . I was told that if I didn't get the full set, they would not be held responsible for the condition of my nails. During my pedicure, there were no bubbles coming out of the water and I noticed a hole in the bag so I asked the technician about it , she ignored me , asked the second time, she seemed agitated, drained all the water out put a new bag in and continued my pedicure . I felt bad and came there for relaxation and pampering. I was being treated Rudely .,Then on September 13 .I came in for a fill and was told that I needed another full set, because I didn't do it the last time . I felt like I needed to justify and explain by receipt that I had gotten a full set last time by Ryan .I was treated roughly by Tony, who did my fill and within days one of my nails was chipping after getting gel treatment. I live 25 minutes away they told me to come back in and they would fix it so I did and within a few days after that, the nail started chipping again, and other nails were lifting and cracking they told me to come back again and they would fix . After I arrived I pointed out half my nails for lifting and chipping and dull looking . They said what do you want? I said I want it fixed so they put a new set on and cut my nails down which should've been done the first time I received the new set in August. I was charged for that repair so within September 13 and September 23 I gave them $110.00 which included Steve's cash tip . I do not recommend going there I certainly won't anymore. read more

The staff are all very nice, but the salon is not clean- all of the carts were covered in dirt and the pedicure tubs had a dead bug and dust in them. My nails looked good from far away, but up close they were all different shapes and the sides were messy. The guy that did my nails did not have clean hands and he kept stabbing me with one of his nails that was halfway broken and talon like. read more

my pedi was good. however, when Steve got to my nails I was very disappointed. everything seemed very rushed and we were in many hours before closing. my pinky nail is crooked, they upcharged me for almond shaping and it is just not that on SOME of the nails, the two nails pictured were not even fully covered and he cut me with the machine. will not be coming back to spend $130 for what is not even mediocre mani or pedi services completed. read more

DO NOT GO HERE.... PLENTY OF BETTER NAIL SALONS IN TOWN!!!! I had a 5:00 appt, the young man called me to his chair at 5:42, I was very patient and understand that sometimes things just happen...I get that. But he began to rapidly file my nails without care of cuticles or anything. He then said let's do dip over existing nail, meaning he didn't want to take the time to glue a tip on my fairly short nails. I said I didn't mind on the longer nails but the shorter ones needed tips to make my nails even length. That irritated him and he began to rapidly glue tips on, including to 3 of my fingers because he overused the glue. After approx 5 mins of him now texting and putting an ear bud in I realize he has someone on the phone and he has somewhere to be! So I said to him I would wait if he needed to go do something I didn't mind because I would rather him be a little more gentle than he was. He literally began speaking to me and he was so upset he couldn't speak clearly so I had to ask him a few times what he was trying to say to which he jumped up from his chair, put his coat on and walked out. I have NEVER EXPERIENCED SUCH UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE IN MY LIFE!!! The worst part is that the owner, Kim, never once apologized and now I sit there with tips glued on my fingers, very crooked and the salon is full! The receptionist decided she needs to do something and says another tech will be with me. I have now been on the salon for an hour. Kim, the owner allowed them to charge me full price and my nails look good but not great and are still glued to 3 of my fingers. What a terrible experience! And for $55?? Nope! I used to always have a great experience here and I felt like prices were affordable. BUT within the last year or so I have had nothing but bad experiences and they have upped the prices so much yet their quality has gone DOWN. Tell me how you're going to charge me $90 for basic looking nails with a crappy French tip that are so thick I could barely cut them off with toe nail clippers because the nail clippers wouldn't even fit on there. For less than that I could go to a talented nail artist in Springfield and get designs and charms On top of all of that, the workers are rude and patronizing, and treat you like an inconvenience even if you booked an appointment in advance. I've taken two friends there now and have been embarrassed both times because the nail tech was rude to them and did a crappy job on their nails, also charging them $85-$95 for their nails. I get that inflation is bad but let's be so real. The quality of their work is not worth that and neither is the quality of the experience. A.J., do better. I ended up with an aching , bloody cuticle and the new owner seemed to be offended when I asked about the tools being disinfected because I was worried. The photo was day 2. I booked an acrylic fill and he did an awful job. there was acrylic and polish adhered to my cuticle and my skin around the sides of my nail. Not only did it look terrible but it was uncomfortable as well. i showed a photo at the beginning of my service of what I wanted and he said he could do the small design, then at the end of the service he said no design I don't have time. Which is fine, but i would have like to know beforehand. The next day I went to have them fixed, and I showed the ladies what was wrong. They got me in to "fix" them and the experience was still awful. She had to file the polish and acrylic off my skin and it hurt so bad and the chrome powder isn't evenly applied at all. And they still charged me to fix them!! I never leave reviews much less bad ones but stay away from this place. read more

Someone referred me to AJ's for a full set of acrylic nails. I made an appt and went in the same day and had Danny for my nail service. He was nice enough but the nails are the worst set of nails I've ever gotten in over 20 years of having nails! He didn't file the nail around the cuticle at all and there was acrylic on the sides of the nails adhered to my actual skin. I called later about having them fixed and they told me to come in anytime after 5:30 pm that next day. So I did and waited 30 mins because they were wanting me to have the same person (Danny) fix them. I told them I would just come on Monday as this was a sat night and they are closed on Sunday. I chose to not go in that Monday because I had no desire to have the same person who did a terrible job fix what he had done. Lesson learned, I will not ever be returning. I decided to just take the loss and have someone at another salon fix them. It's been less than a week And already l have a broken thumb nail. DO NOT COME HERE!!! I had the WORST experience I've ever had at AJ Elite Nails. TONY gave me a very cute Christmas gel manicure. Unfortunately, the very next day two nails were already peeling away. The paint was not sticking to my nails. He didn't buff them and prep them correctly before painting them. I was disappointed and I went back to have him fix them. You can tell he was very upset to have to fix them and at one point he slammed his hand on the drying light as a way to tell me to give him my hand. He didn't apologize that I had to come back and was very openly annoyed I wanted them fixed. I went home afterwards and within a few hours two more (different) nails were peeling away. I was upset, and didn't want to have to go back up there and I didn't want to deal with TONY's bad attitude. I called to just get my money back and they refused to refund my money. They said if I came back in a THIRD time they would refund $10 and fix the nails. So, I went back, again, thinking they were going to fix them right this time. TONY walked in CUSSING AND YELLING AT ME, accused me of sitting at home purposely chipping off my nails so that I would have to keep coming up there and have him fix them.!!!(Like I have nothing better to do?) I looked at the "owner" and said can I please have someone else fix my nails? She said no, it has to be TONY. TONY was still yelling at me and no one was helping me. Everyone was standing around and watching him ridicule me and yell at me while I was being treated like a dog. I left very upset without my nails fixed and without a refund. My husband was in the car and went in to talk to the "manager" (who said she was the "owner" to me before) and she offered to fix JUST the two nails that were messed up (instead of re-doing all of them correctly). I took what I could get and got the hell out of there as fast as I could. I WILL NEVER GO BACK!! No one apologized to me for my terrible experience or the bad nail job. DO NOT COME HERE TO GET YOUR NAILS DONE!! They don't stand by their work, they don't want to make it right, they lie about who the "owner" or "manager" is, they don't care about the customers, they make you feel like dirt and treat you like a dog. I give one star because the lady was so nice. I got my eyelashes done on my way through town. Not a good idea. By the time I got back to the hotel I had to pull half of the lashes off because they were hurting my skin so bad. Upon further inspection she had glued, with massive amounts of glue, the lashes on to my eyelid instead of individual lashes. I am still trying to get the rest of the lashes off, because after a night of sleep they hurt so bad. And to top it off she glued them on crooked so I need to wear heavy eyeliner to cover the mistake. I hate to complain, but I rely on reviews to pick a place I dont know. Okay. So this review is subject to change with some important improvement in the hygiene area. I have now visited this salon twice since moving back to Branson. And theres good and bad here. To start with the good. The salon itself is pretty. Nice pedicure chairs with great massage motions. They use liners in the basins and follow missouri law and don't use razors or graters on your feet. The manicure chairs are comfortable and the areas appear clean. The second trip in was a better success nail wise. I had Tania? As my tech, I was kinda nervous about trying the place again and being overly protective of my nails and she "put me in my place" lol and reassured me she would take care of me. She really did. She kept my nails short and told me why I should try the gel dip but was also open to hear feed back and learn about a new product I told her about. I like the dip so far. Its brand new so we shall see how it wears. The gel pedicure was the first trip. Still looks good. 4 weeks later. You get your own box with nail file and buffer for hygiene I'm guessing. I was super impressed with this feature as I'm a bit picky about this. The bad. First trip in. Im big into hygiene as I mentioned. Anyway the pedicure area isn't as... customized....to each individual. They used a previously used pumice, nail clippers, file, etc. Idk maybe if your gonna try to be hygienic do it in all aspects. Shoot I'd pay extra for it. Nails. The owner did them and complained basically the whole way through about what I wanted. Saying it wasnt easy...blah blah blah. No joke if it was super easy I'd save my money and do it myself. Anyway. He did it and they looked good at the end but they broke in 2 days. I was going to go in to get them fixed but didn't really see the point. Eyebrows. 2nd trip in I needed my brows done badly!!! I prepaid with my nails to have them done. Went to the back and sat down on a chair covered in a dingy beach towel. I looked around and saw...it...the filthy nasty eyebrow wax station. I was so repulsed. I tried to talk myself into bucking up and just letting them do it as i had already paid but I couldnt and had to get my money back. When i asked for my money they seemed confused. I hope this helps clarify why I made my choice. I hate giving bad reviews but damn they need to fix this stuff. Pretty chairs and free drinks dont cover up poor hygiene practices. read more

Such poor customer service. The teenagers at the desk when i walked in and when i paid on the way out were completely indifferent and barely acknowledged me. One was getting her nails trimmed and a group of technicians were standing around watching. Ten minutes later my actual technician finished with her client and came to get me - she was super polite and efficient. When I was done the same teenagers were still manning the register and just as indifferent. One of them named my total, then handed me the receipt and turned her back. I could have been invisible. I tried this salon when I was in town, based on decent reviews. However, my experience was not at all good. The guy who did my gel manicure couldn't speak any English, so he grunted, pointed, & pulled on my hand to communicate with me. The language barrier was also difficult because I couldn't communicate what I wanted/didn't want. The manicure ended up looking fine, but it was not an enjoyable experience at all! i scheduled an appointment for a pedi & full set, my appt was scheduled for 5 pm, I got right in to get my Pedi but when completed I was told 5 minutes for my tech to be ready. Instead it was 55 minutes later, to the point I almost left. I didn't leave the salon until 8 pm. This is not acceptable especially when the techs were all conversating and gathering around each other and a few specific guests. Came to AJ Elite Nails & Spa for my first time before spring break for a mani/ pedi. I chose to do the shellac, like I always do and the lady who did my nails missed many spots on my fingernails and painted all over my cuticles. I paid and left before I got a good look at them. I ended up driving all the way back to get them redone, after another hour of redoing the nails, they were clean around the cuticles but polish was still missing on some of the tips and edges of my nails. AJ's was referred to my by a friend and regular client there, but I'm sad to say I won't be giving them a second chance. read more
