I normally have a good experience here but yesterday (mother's day) I went in for mani/pedi and face waxing. One girl did my pedi another young lady did my manicure and an older lady did my face waxing (eyebrows upper lip and chin. Mani and pedi were cool. But the older lady didn't wax very well. Not that she left hair but she must've waxed over the same area twice bc look at my chin. Look like I've been burned. I didn't notice it until a few hours later when the area was numb yet painful. Took my goddaughter in to get her nails done for a special occasion. The guy at the front asked what we needed and she showed him a picture which included two fingers of rhinestones and a polish on her toes. He quoted me $53-$55 and I greed to pay. During the service he started to not follow the picture so we had to show him at least four times what she asked for and he still only did the French tip. I politely told him she wanted the stones and he suggested glitter which again we didn't ask for. He proceeded to do the stones and never said a different price. When he was finished with her hands he asked if she wanted regular polish or no chip on her feet I said regular he tried to be persistent with the no chip and I declined again and said she is fine with regular. Before he could polish her feet he changed the price of the nails to $65 and said that the $55 was without the rhinestone even though the picture we initially showed had rhinestones when he quoted the $55. I will not be returning and told him not to worry about her feet as I will not be quoted one price and then you change your mind at the end to a high amount. I even heard the lady Blevins me say they changed her price at the end from $40 to $45. read more

Lisa and Nancy provided excellent service I had a quick pedicure to clean up my toes +regular polish, and a full set acrylic done within 90 minutes! The first time I went here I was with my mom and they cut her pretty bad. I chalked it up to just a random one time thing and went back. When I got there the said 20 minutes wait. I waited for 50 minutes before they took me. When I showed them what I wanted the told me they wouldn't be able to do it unless I got a no chip plus a full set. They definitely did it understand what I wanted and three workers gathered around me yelling about what I wanted and how much it would cost. I felt completely embarrassed that I couldn't pay the $60 they were going to charge me so before she started I bolted and left. I cried when I got in the car at how embarrassing this was. read more

I had a no chip manicure/pedicure and was out in less than an hour. It seemed very rushed although they were not busy. While I was there three customers (not together) that were leaving had complaints about the services and charges. They had no pricing and didn't ask or offer different types of pedicures. I also brought my daughter in for a manicure and pedicure in which they tried to do a polish change rather than a mani/pedi. This place has just gone down hill! Always in a rush, last 2 pedicures were horrible, nail polish old, thick and clumpy. No communication because of language barrier. Even if you show them a picture there can never do what you want. I'm just done with this place. Oh and most of the workers are not very pleasant, always septa have attitude or in a bad mood. On May 31, 2023 I went to get a powder dip manicure and regular pedicure. Two days later the dip was chipping and my fingernails were exposed. I called to let them know that I was not able to go get dip removed and get a refund til Monday, June 5th and the owner said ok. I arrived today and said I want dip removed and refund. The owner was very rude, got loud with me, and was unprofessional as he was talking about me to a customer. He said no refund, so I gave in and I got a manicure instead of the dip because I didn't want to go through getting the poor quality dip service again. Originally, I paid $50 for dip service that was horrible, and I got a regular nail polish manicure that only cost $20. I am at a loss of $30 and they couldn't even do the manicure well...they didn't even put the oil and lotion to remove the acetone stains on my fingers. I highly recommend that you go give your money to someone else that will give good quality service because AJ Nails & Spa in Dyer Indiana gives horrible service, poor quality/results and are unprofessional! read more

Prices are average, the place is Very clean and the gentleman at the front desk speaks English, so I know I'm getting what I ask for. However what makes this place unique is the great customer service! Everyone was very nice and courteous and the work is great! This is definitely my new spot. Been going here for almost 4 years and never had any major issues. Some times my nails turned out good sometimes bad; I'm not one to complain. Up until recently I had a fill and polish change for my acrylics she shaved off the color and I saw a brown spot on my nail. Concerned I said are you sure we should put a nail over that? Terrible Terrible Service! Alice is very disrespectful and Rude! I have been a loyal customer for many years. I have always had great service until today. Alice became upset because she cut my nails to low. When I pointed out to her that my right hand was longer than my left hand. This made her upset even more and offered to give me a discount. I told her that was not my issue. It was the fact that she didn't measure my hands together side by side. If she had done that she would have noticed that they were not the right length. She started to yell and and said that she's rude and I would wait for someone else. She became even louder and disrespectful in her language of course. All of this was done in front of other customers. It's a shame that her unprofessional and rude behavior has caused customers to stop supporting their business. My mother and I came here twice for pedicures. The first time it was great. The nail techs unwrapped the sterilized tools right in front of us and went to work kindly and carefully. The second time, we had appointments late in the day. The nail techs had everything ready and were in a big hurry. Mom, who is 82, said she felt embarrassed, because the nail tech was rough with her, like she didn't want to touch her feet. She also nicked my mother. It got infected. After several courses of antibiotics, my mom had to have a surgeon go in and scrape out the infection and part of the bone. read more

My normal nail care is a manicure. Obviously, there's a price difference between that and a no chip mani. I've never felt my business was appreciated because I'm not dumping high dollars. I boycotted the salon for a few months, but decided to give them another try. Sadly, same treatment. Jerry can barely get a thank you when I leave. My not returning isn't going to hurt their business, but with all the competition out there, you'd think they'd value every customer that walks through the door. read more

My dad & I have been coming here for years, even after moving we stayed loyal with them driving over 30 minutes just to get our nails and toes done every 3 weeks. But after this past weekend we will not be coming back. I made an appointment for us for 2pm Saturday. We went straight back to start our pedicures, they started his first while mine were soaking for 30 minutes. He was completely finished with his pedicure before they started mine! After my pedicure I had to wait 40 minutes to even get my nails started! Not just that they had a different person doing my nails and didn't even apologize for the inconvenience! So unorganized and they never have the same person doing your nails and toes. I even seen them switch nail techs in the MIDDLE of service. Then while getting my nails done there was another customer on her phone yelling talking about child pornography and nobody told her to keep it down or go outside to talk. There were children in the shop! I would not recommend this place unless you want to wait hours and have 3 different bail techs. read more

The no chip was $27... great price. My nail tech (May) took the time to give me a perfect manicure and I love my no chip. First time using this place as we just moved into the neighborhood. Appointments are recommended, but I seen people walk in, and not have to wait to long. I gave my appointment to my daughter and I went to what it seems like the woman in charge. She was a but rough. Didn't use nail polish remover to remove my old polish, she used the drill to shave it off and kept burning me in the process. She said sorry, but to burn me more than twice is unnecessary.
