Not happy with this company. They gave me a quote and set an appointment on Monday to come Friday. They were to come Friday at 9 a.m. and did not show up. I called them to find out why they were not at my house, and they changed the appointment to 2:00 p.m. same day. Then they came half an hour late at 2:30 p.m., which messed up my business meeting that was scheduled at that time. Then they said they could not do the stump grinding like they promised and finally they knocked off the spindle on my fence and could not find it. They said they would buy me a new spindle and bring it no later than Monday. Well, they lied. No spindle! I will not be hiring them ever again. So disappointed in their service. Beware of this company. Likely you will not get what you pay for. read more

I had 5 very large cedar trees to remove and only a half day to do so. I also wanted them to dig below the stumps and cut just below ground level so I did not have anything sticking up and they did just that. They were in and out in 4 hours with everything raked and cleaned up. This is the 3rd time I have used their service. read more

AJ's crew just finished trimming our trees. They brought a large crew to finish quickly and beat the forecast afternoon rain. They did a great job. We walked the yard together before they finished and cut anything we thought needed additional trimming. They chipped all branches cut and left us a pile of mulch as we requested. I almost gave 5 stars but for one reason. When they name a price for the work to be done, it is a price that is as high as they can possibly quote. They do negotiate after the initial price quote. I would rather a reasonable quote and not have to search every business in town to make sure I am not getting had! That said, they are a gung-ho bunch, very friendly, and do excellent work. I have used them for tree trimming, weed cutting, clean up and other things. It was all well done. They are also not a fly-by-night bunch that doesn't know when, and when not, to cut live oak trees to avoid oak wilt. I guess I am not as tightly wound as the guy who was upset about the solicitation. I respect that these guys are hard workers who are busting their assticles to make a living. These folks were doing a job for my neighbor, and left their business card on my door. I needed some work done so I called, and they showed up quickly & gave me a very competitive bid. I needed 5 dead trees removed from my property. They arrived the next morning, cut & removed the trees. They didn't upset my dogs, didn't start chainsaws at 6AM to upset my neighbors, and generally treated my property with respect. When they finished, their crew foreman made sure I walked the property with him and was satisfied with the work. He also made recommendations for further work, to improve the health of my other trees. I will hire AJ Tree Services again for work at my home. Five stars would be if they offered something like board-certified master arborists or master gardeners. Given the price and that it's a small startup company, I cannot expect this level of expertise. But I'm definitely happy with the cut & remove & be respectful of their customers. read more

I have to give these guys 5 stars for a few reasons. When I called for an estimate, there was a guy here in 3 hours. They quoted me a price but I was able to haggle with them. My trees were not that big but they were bushy and I needed to be in compliance with the HOA. They scheduled me in but called to reschedule because they were running late from another job. When they did come, there was a one guy who did most the work and piled up the branches. It took him about 1 1/2 hours. 4 hours later a big group of about 6 guys cleared the branches and did final touches. We walked the property and it looked good. They ask for cash or check. The only thing that I wasn't ready for was the tip that was mentioned. I didn't have much cash but I gave $12 as tip. I don't know what is normal for a tip and was glad I had at least that. It cost me $300 for 4 trees. I am sure the price varies depending on the size of the trees and the danger involved. read more

This outfit might do good work at a fair price--I don't know. But they continually ignore our neighborhood's no-solicitation policy. They also ignore the no-soliciting sign on my front door. I've spoken to them about this when they come to the door, and I've called them to speak about it, but they continue to ignore the policy. I won't do business with a company that ignores a neighborhood policy like that. read more

These guys were awesome. They did an amazing job cutting down two trees on my property as well as clearing some branches over my roof. They were fast and efficient. Very friendly and courteous of my neighbors. They did a great job cleaning up after and they even made sure that my neighbors yards were cleaned up as well (the trees were both on the fence line). Great work at an incredible price. I will definitely be using them again for other jobs I have in mind and I highly, highly recommend them! read more
