The work was scheduled for a few weeks later. The original estimate seemed high, but we agreed to the terms. The employee did a good job for the first day. Then we were told to complete the last project would require a change with a small increase in price to use some 4 x 4 instead of some 2 x 4 lumber.The work was completed on the second day by the employee and was satisfactory. The problem is when we received an $800 increase in the final bill. When we questioned why the final bill was increased by such a large amount, the owner did not give a reasonable explanation that we felt was acceptable . We reluctantly paid the final bill under protest.

I just wanted to clarify my experience -- short and simple- you confirmed an appt you didn't keep and then decided not to accept a project/work further because my tone of frustration (of which your lack of communications was the root cause ) was not acceptable. You say you "value mutual respect and clear communication in every client relationship. " Unfortunately, you didn't even communicate until I contacted you to ask if you were still coming. You left me waiting without notification so that's already contradictory to what you value. Management then chose not to continue to work with me because they felt the tone and nature of response was not acceptable after an apology The truth is...No one called to apologize or acknowledge the no show until after I called. You can't expect to gain respect if you don't give it. Although you had an emergency at 7am (our scheduled appt was 10am), it doesn't take more than 5 sec to send a quick message to cancel. You had 3 hours to cancel an appt you couldn't make. So it is for the same reason that I prefer not to work with your company. I also value respect and clear communication which did not occur with your tone and lack of accountability in how you handled the matter. Hopefully this feedback will help future prospective clients.
