The damaged parts broke off where the blonde hair dye overlapped for a root touch up and the broken hair is about an inch or two long. It's impossible to do anything with. I have been trying to grow my hair out for years and this is a MAJOR set back. Looking like a pixie cut is the only solution for my goofy looking hair that cost several hundred dollars. I'd expect something like this to happen at a beauty school, not a professional salon. I do not take any supplements or medications, my hair is already a dark blonde/light brown color. I use expensive professional hair products. It was a very disheartening experience and every morning I wake up to get ready I'm so disappointed by the way I look because of my hair damage.

At first Alexus did a good job, but over time she started making cuts/ trims in ways I did not like and had not told her to do. Each time I told her I do not like these weird cuts. After several haircuts/beard trims, I think I finally got through to here and the last time I was in which was 5 weeks ago, she did a good job. I am always early so today (02/07/2026 as I was sitting in the parking watch as I am always early for my appointment at 10:00am. She took a new customer in at 09:43am. So I went inside at 09:55, and she was working on this customers hair, she did not greet me or say sorry I am running late, not a single word. I sat and waited until 10:10am then I walked out. Thinking that she must not want to cut my hair or trim my beard anymore as she has screwed up so many times before. At 10.22am, she starts calling me, but I was driving and don't talk on the phone when driving. At 10:33 she sent me a text, saying she assumed I was not going to get my haircut. Then went on to say sometimes she runs late, not knowing I was sitting in the parking lot and know what time she took that customer in, Had she not done that she would not have been running late. Then she told me that because of me she has a gap in her schedule and if I want her to cut my hair in the future I have to pay her for today. What a joke, trying to blame me for something she caused! I live 20 miles away and so I drive there just to get a decent haircut and beard trim. Not sure if I will find another stylist at at Grit or take my business somewhere else. MAYBE THE NEW OWNERS NEED TO PAY ATTENTION TO HOW THERE STYLIST ARE DOING AND CUTOMER TREATMENT!!!

The absolute worst haircut my child has ever gotten. I've gone here before and it's been ok but…read morethis was so awful. First I called on a Friday asking for a haircut for the next day. They said they had availability but when I got to the salon, my appointment was actually scheduled for 2 weeks later. I should've taken this as a sign to just leave and get it done somewhere else. My daughter's hair was originally past her waist. The stylist cut probably 6 inches off. I told her about 2. She cut the first 2 inches and then without saying a word started cutting more. She spoke very little English and basically said it was uneven. It was not 4 inches uneven!! She asked if I wanted curls and I said no so instead without asking again put my child's hair in this braid style which I would never do. She used men's gel so my daughter's hair stinks. She put the braid style in to cover up the botched hair in the front. I also never part my child's hair in the middle. I asked for her hair to be cut all one length just a little trim. In the photos, it might look like this is layers, but it's not this is just a really terrible haircut. My daughter BARELY moved the whole haircut. For a 3 year old she did really well. I'm so disappointed in her hair. It was so long and beautiful and it's totally ruined. I'm going to have to find another stylist to fix this. I will NEVER COME BACK! Also I've always paid for the haircuts up front at their register. But immediately when the cut was done the stylist was asking if I had cash. When I said no, she seemed super annoyed and got out her phone and even though she told me the price was $35 she tried to charge me $38.50 and tried to say it was tax but usually they include the tax into the total $35 price. When I pointed this out, she got even more annoyed and then changed the price to $30 and then I ended up paying $33 with the tax. I feel so scammed and sad about my daughter's hair.

She and all the stylists are friendly and professional. They all seem to have been doing hair for 10 years or longer. If I'd written this review the first time I went I'd have given it 4 stars because the decor was straight out of 1980(horrible floral wallpaper, ratty brown dryer chairs, and gold frilly window treatment, yuck), but recently each time i go there seems to be a new improvement, new paint, chairs, light fixtures, window treatments. So they've earned 5 for the continuing improvement. The clientele is always interesting. Last time I went there was a young guy covered in tattoos and piercings getting hair color in one chair, a classy looking business woman getting her eyebrows done in another, a toddler getting his first haircut in one, and a little old lady getting her rollers in another, it was great. All the stylists seem to be skilled with traditional old-school styling as well as newer hipper cuts and styles. They have a few girls that speak Spanish and one that can speak Korean (I think). They take walk-ins but seem to stay pretty busy and a few of them you have to make an appointment if you want to get into them on a particular day. Missy has even come in on her day off to do my foil because we work similar hours. My only complaint would be that the hours they're open seem to flux, I've driven by and seen them close at 6:00 at night, but also seen them open until 9:00 on others, but I think that's just because they'll stay open later if a client needs them to. I'd recommend this hair salon to anybody, they always seem to provide the same great service to all kinds, and all ages of people.
