This is hands down the best Pharmacy in the 5 boro's, you cant get service like this at any other pharmacy, places like rite-aid, walgreens make me sick, tech's fill and handle everything. When I first moved to the neighborhood someone else suggested using AJs pharmacy.  As I like to support family-run businesses, I gave it a try.  I was a regular customer here for 2 years, purchasing prescriptions and otc items.  I also got my flu shots here.  However, after 2 years, no one in this pharmacy even knew my name.  For the first time ever, after years of better experiences with family-run pharmacies in Manhattan, the Bronx, and other neighborhoods in Queens, I felt like a number or a dollar sign to my pharmacy.   The other issue with this place is that they close earlier than their posted times, or the time they tell you over the phone.  I once saw them turn away an elderly looking woman 15 minutes before their posted closing time, telling her "We're closed." What kind of pharmacy turns away seniors? Given that a pharmacy dispenses medications that people rely on (and in some cases, mean the difference between life and death), what kind of pharmacy closes early?   For better customer service in the neighborhood, go to Colombo's Pharmacy or Metro Chemists.  Even CVS won't close their pharmacy early on you. read more

Good pharmacy the owner Joe definitely goes out of his way to do the right thing and help anyway that he can. They have free delivery and I heard the driver talk about delivery to staten island when I was in the pharmacy before but when I try to get a delivery to Astoria queens less than 20 min away they tell me no?? kind of confused and not sure if owner is aware of this or not. So I go to rite aid down the block from my house due to this unfortunately so that's how you lose business.Sad cause I really do like the place read more

I went to this Pharmacy for a COVID test 5 days before having surgery. After the test results didn't come back, I made multiple phone calls, and the Lab finally told me that the sample had been delivered by the pharmacy without the required labelling and so they could not process it. They also said this was not the first time this had happened with that pharmacy. The surgery and my scheduled days off from work needed to be cancelled at the last minute. I called the pharmacy to tell them what I was told by the Lab, and he hung up on me when I asked him to give me his name. I would not trust this place with anything involving your health. read more

This has been my go-to pharmacy since 2012 when I moved to Middle Village. Great service, feels like family. They have a lot of regular products like cold medicine, vitamins and soap/face wash but the pharmacists know you by name. read more

AJ's Village Chemist is a great family friendly pharmacy. All employees working there always welcome you with open arms. It is great knowing they have a delivery service in case you are not able to make it to pick up your prescription. They provide you with excellent care with all your needs. First things first, this place deserves negative stars. I would come here from time to time to drop off UPS packages because they take them here. You would think a business would follow through with what services they provide. Well apparently I thought wrong. The second I walked in (without even a chance to speak) there today with my box to be shipped out the rude cashier said to me right away "NO! NO!" Where are the manners and professionalism? They apparently don't exist in this place. There is a way to talk to YOUR customers and that wasn't it. Once I was being shouted NO to I said "Excuse me? Isn't this a UPS drop off?" And the words that came out of this unprofessional cashiers mouth was "Yes, but we don't take boxes like yours." Me being so confused as to why they would refuse service to me. The cashier tells me that they don't take packages larger than 16 pounds. Meanwhile it's not advertised anywhere online or on the front door. It was advertised on the side of the register on a small sign which was blocked by some item that she had to move. How am I to know that? I am pretty furious for the fact that I had lug around a 30 pound box and took time out of my day to do this just to be denied service in an empty store with no customers in it on a slow day. Please do yourself a favor and don't ever go to this unmannered and rude establishment ever again. I guess the workers here forgot their people skills and need to learn better advertising skills. read more

I have used AJ's from the very beginning and Joe and his team have been nothing but great to me! They consistently go out of their way to be helpful and accommodating. This evening I forgot that they close at 7, and even though they were all getting ready to go home, when I knocked on the door to see if I could just pick up the prescriptions I had called earlier about, they opened the door and gave them to me. If this had been CVS or any other big chain, I would have been ignored and told to come back. I have to make arrangements to use a car to run errands, so not having to come back again is very helpful! The little touches like this are why I use them instead of a big chain. Some of the medications I take are hard to find at a chain store, or they tell you that they won't have them in stock for five or six days. This never happens with AJs. They do their best to get things in stock very quickly. Their prices are great and they are very friendly. The previous review who said that they had gotten an attitude from them should give them another try. Perhaps they were having a bad day. It happens to the best of us. I have depended on AJ's for many years to deliver my medications directly to my home, whether it was my residence at the East End of Long Island or my apartment in Manhattan, and always on time and with no additional charge. Once when a problem occurred with my prescription plan, Joe at AJ's intervened to help me restore coverage. If I don't speak to him when calling to order refills, he calls periodically to check on me. What a warm personal touch, and so rare to know that he was at AJ's before I became a client and is still there, looking out for me. read more

I was here yesterday evening (2/6/18) after searching nearly 2 hours at several big chained pharmacies (CVS, Rite Aid, Duane Reade). I was trying to fill a prescription for my 11 month old. They ran out of the oral suspension at all these big name pharmacies. She was diagnosed with the flu, it was very important that I start her on the flu medication. The pharmacist was very calm and patient, especially after my insurance gave her such a headache in trying to fill the prescription. After trying for nearly an hour, between being on hold and tending to other customers, my insurance declined to fill the medication, on some ridiculous technicality. The point is she gave me options. I didn't have to shell out more than what I needed, she was very helpful, very professional, and I was more than happy this place was recommended to me. I live in sunnyside, but I now look forward to coming here to get my prescriptions filled. I will pick the great customer service and dedication to get the job done over distance. She even directed me on what to do to fix the issue (apparently it's an issue amongst NYC employees). Thank you for the service, my little one is already showing improvements! read more

It's good that they deliver your meds. They're just delayed sometimes. I tried to call and follow up my son's medications because we were waiting for the whole day and the lady with the Indian accent gave me an attitude. She told me that delivery guy already left and he should be in our place any minute. She also told me stop calling every 5 minutes when I only called 2x around 6pm. They told me the delivery guy will arrived at around 4pm. That lady who answered the phone around 6pm on 1/31/15 was nasty!!! read more
