This is the only place in the area that's open 24 hours, so for that reason alone I've been here more times than I had originally planned on. It has a parking lot that is free which is definitely a plus. The store is big and it has a decent selection of drinks. I do wish they carried more 0 calorie options, but they have a good selection of low (but unfortunately not 0) calorie drinks. The prices are more expensive than grocery stores but that's to be expected. The staff is neither helpful nor horrible and don't leave much of an impression outside of not wanting to be there. read more

This CVS lived up to its inglorious but apparently well-earned 2-star rating today. I visited to purchase a gift card, arriving 10:45 PM after a long day at work. A staffer informs me "We stop selling gift cards at 11:00." I glance at my watch, look back up and respond "OK, 15 minutes I'll make it quick." He then says actually they've already "shut the registers" and are no longer selling gift cards. He apologetically said there's nothing he can do. There's no sign anywhere in or outside the store alerting anyone to this policy. (Just to be sure, I asked if there were any). The staffer was friendly (and the unadvertised policy isn't his fault of course). But I still wasted a trip to a "24 hour" CVS. Gift cards aside, shopping here is a drag. Much of the merchandise is locked behind plexiglass, requiring waiting for staff to unlock it. Prices are not competitive. The parking lot is cramped & poorly laid out. If you're in a bind & have no other options, maybe this is your place...except if the bind is that you need a gift card at night. read more

This is the way a young, unprofessional employee treats customers. I entered the pharmacy, selected my items, and when I went to pay, the machine asked for assistance. It was 6:10 a.m., and the pharmacy was completely empty--there was no staff at the front. I went to the back and knocked on a door. A young man came out, and I asked him for help so I could pay for my purchase. From the very beginning, he showed a very rude attitude, without greeting or responding properly. When we got to the front, I asked him, "Are you okay?" His only response, with a bad attitude, was, "Bring the items here," pointing to another register. My husband told him that his attitude is not appropriate for customer service and that he should look for another job if he cannot treat customers with respect. This has to be the worst pharmacy in the area. The line for pickup is always down the entire isle, they are constantly out of prescriptions, and don't even try to call to speak to a pharmacist. I swear I tried calling 12 times within two days to check on my son's prescription and I never once got someone who picked up. I had to call another CVS to check the system. Turns out this store was out of the medication AND NEVER EVEN CALLED TO TELL ME. This is a daily medication that my son needs and they never even let me know. This used to have nice employees at the pharmacy. No more. They are changing and the situation is getting worse. The place is at 7960 Metropolitan Ave. I went today to pick up a rinse solution (prescription) due to a bad issue (infection started) on my implant. The prescription was sent yesterday by my dentist. I was there around 12:30. It was bad rainy day, but I needed the rinse. I was on line for at least 20 minutes (only one cashier) and when my turn came, I was told that the prescription was on hold and I needed to go to another window to talk to the pharmacist. I was again waiting and when my time came, the pharmacist kept me standing there for a while, with no explanation. When I dared to ask what was going on, he shouted that I already picked up my prescription and now the insurance is not paying. I was trying to explain that this was not the case, nobody picked up my prescription, but he was in rush and insisting to pay the full amount. Because I refused, he decided to call my insurance and while on the phone he shouted at me to go home and come back after 2, because the pharmacy was closing at 1:30. I looked at my phone, it was only 1:14 and I asked him to please make it before 1:30 because I couldn't come back, having a flight this afternoon. He didn't want to hear and again, in a rude manner, he "swooshed" me home. My luck was that my insurance carrier solved the issue in 2 minutes and after he hanged up and the prescription was approved, he again shouted at me to move and take a sit. He also shouted to "relax, it's only a rinse" (but this rinse can stop my infection and save my implant!) I am a 68 years old woman, he is a young guy (his initials are SH-I think his last name was Hong) and he was extremely rude, inpatient and impertinent, in a place where he supposed to be professional and nice, dealing mostly with seniors who come for medication, not to have disputes and entertainment. Very rarely I write reviews. But twice I have had the same problem and it just has rubbed me the wrong way. The young man that works at the pharmacy with the black hair. Twice I have queued up to ask a question. And twice he has told me to stand to the side, leaving me there waiting until another staff member comes . The questions I asked should be simply answered for a staff member, where are Covid test?, where do I go for antibodies test? If you run with less drug then make several excuses contacting the doctors. The entire list of complaint it's never ended. I am grounded with this company as my insurance for long term medicine is with them. I wanted to have a simple eye exam for the DMV I go to cvs, and the sign redirects me to the phone I call the number, a robot wastes my time for 3 mins before it tells me to use the website to make an appointment. The website tells me that the only avaliable times are at 10am two days later, I accept On sunday morning TEN MINUTES before my appointment, when i'm waiting in my car to be called in, I get a call telling me "they're closed", not "we had an emergency", or "a misunderstanding", "they're closed". Self-checkout is a pain. Employees are largely disinterested and look annoyed when you ask for assistance. On my most recent visit 2 days ago, I noticed that every single container of sour cream had expired over a week---we're talking roughly a dozen containers, all expired. When I mentioned this to one of the associates she didn't believe me until I brought her over to the refrigerator section to see for herself. If your claustrophobic this is not the CVS for you. The store may look big because it sits on a corner, but inside it's very small and the aisles are tight. This location had self service check out and regular cashiers available to check you out. There is a very large refrigerator and freezer walled section. The parking lot is also a bit of a labyrinth. One way coming in, two ways going out or something like that. Very confusing to all of the drivers. The staff is very helpful at this location. Plan on using a hand basket for your items so that you can better navigate the aisles. Using a cart is ridiculous. read more

I feel like I have a serious love/hate relationship with CVS. They don't have everything always in stock. During Wednesday's, the food shelves start to have lots of holes in them. Gallons of milk have known to run out before the end of the week. If you're one of those that comes home late after work, you get off the bus nd saunter off into the joyful air conditioning and get your bread, milk, laundry detergent etc. Just the basics for the weeks until you get paid. The photo department truly stinks. I order a CD, and I got double prints instead. When I went back, the older woman who was there asked me for more money! When I wanted a CD! I walked out as she kept shouting "excuse me" and "miss". If I find old film cameras or disposables in general, I'd rather send them out online and wait rather then get the photo specialist surprise. I have noticed that many of the 'usual' employees have left and gone. There is no old man with the white beard and all the jewelry, no old lady that looked like Professor Trelawney. There's two CVS equal distances from my home. I prefer to go to this one for my daily shopping needs and meds. It's open 24 hrs and is pretty big inside. Plus the free parking lot helps in an area not so hot on parking. Hard to beat the deals CVS gives with the cvs card too. read more

I could easily spend over $100 on things that I don't even need at CVS. I love that this location has a parking lot (even if it does get a little crowded) and that it's 24 hours. It is almost always neat and orderly in here unless they're unpacking new merchandise, and there are always decent sales and specials. Like I mentioned before the only real con worth mentioning is that the parking lot can get a little congested depending on the time of day, but that's a fair trade off for even having a CVS with a parking lot. read more

Yo this place has a profiling problem. I went in around 1:30am to buy an amazon card for my Mother's Day gift basket. The self checkout machines have the volume piercingly loud so when I rang it up it was like "100 DOLLARS!!!!" which prompted this creepy rude old man to materialize behind me where he stood inches away from me peering over my shoulder. I sensed a personal space invasion and turned around to find myself in the immediate space of this elderly dude who works there. I said, "is there a problem?" and he just stared at me without acknowledging that I said anything at all- then he watched me like a judgmental hawk waiting in silence for me to complete my purchase. Not a word. No indication that I'd spoken. And most importantly- he didn't back up at all. Listen dude, if you wanna be 2 inches from someone when they check out, then you stand at the counter and ring people up. He wasn't following around the other people in the store who were audibly fooling around in the other aisle. I'm a black woman dressed casually in jeggings and a sweatshirt but I'd like to think that didn't have anything to do with how rude and intrusive this little old man was. This is actually the second time I've had an incident here that felt like profiling. I waited in line at the counter one time and the cashier decided that he *had* to write my drivers license information down when I paid with my platinum Amex. Do not go here. I don't like this place. Came here today to get antacids for my acid reflux. The young white worker followed me around like the antacid was a Rolex watch. RE: COVID-19 "Rapid" testing -- I had a horrible experience at this location today. I wanted a COVID-19 test and the mobile unit I usually go to was unavailable. Making an appointment was easy; that's the last positive thing about the experience. Tests are done in a closed door shed in the parking lot with no ventilation. If you didn't have COVID before going in, you'd probably catch it in that stale aired 3x3 foot cell. The nurse explained that it was a two-step appointment: they take your swab and you wait in the parking lot until you receive a call from the clinic inside at which point you receive your results. I asked how long it should take. She said about 20-25 minutes. I waited outside for **1 hour and 20 minutes** and had not heard back. I walked inside to try to ask someone at the clinic desk: there was no one there. I called their phone number. You could only hear a pre-recorded message. I had to leave and was biking home, so I missed their call as I traveled home. The nurse left a horribly rude message and I quote: "This is a two-step visit and you are supposed to wait in the parking lot. You should have been prepared to wait 2-3 HOURS. If you can't do that, I guess you should go somewhere else or visit another location *hangs up*." I called back very ready to give them a piece of my mind. You couldn't get through to a human being. I then got a text with a link to my [negative] result. Why all the whining and b*tching and down-talking when you can see your result in a secure and easy way? I will NEVER go here again. I do not recommend that anyone get tested here. The staff's poor communication--telling me 25 minutes, making me wait 1h 20 minutes and then leaving a nasty voicemail berating me when you could easily check your patient portal is highly unprofessional and not worth it. "You should have been prepared to wait TWO TO THREE HOURS IN THE PARKING LOT"??? In what world??? If you want a good testing experience, go to one of the NYC Mobile Testing units around the city--I have gone 5-6 times, waited no more than 10 minutes any time and got results within 24-36 hours for free. Went there this afternoon to print a few pictures. There are three self-service machines available, but all three had issues. Some wouldn't print certain size formats, and none of them would print your order instantly. The first employee I tried to ask for help just gave me an evasive answer and walked away from me. When I finally got someone to let me know what was going on I was told that I would only be able to order the "one hour" service. I would understand if they were having problems with one machine, but all three at the same time? My only assumption is that they must be experiencing problems in a long time, but not much is being done to fix the issues. In this day and age, when physical stores are struggling to keep up with the online businesses, it surprises me that some are still not realizing the only advantage they may still have is prompt product/service availability, and good customer service. The upside is major here: a place in the middle of nowhere that's open 24 hours with a pharmacy, prepared food and a small supermarket-like food section. This CVS seriously has EVERYTHING and it's incredibly convenient that it's open around the clock. The downsides are also pretty major: You will almost always stand in line here, whether it's at self check out or a register. There never seems to be more than one register open. I shouldn't know the manager of a chain pharmacy, but I do. He is always caught in the crossfire of never ending problems at the register. I'm not sure how so many problems occur at the register of a pharmacy, but recently, they seem to be increasing. There is ALWAYS something holding up the line and tensions are always running high. I've seen people leave out of frustration(I've also been one of those people) without buying anything because as long as it takes to get rung up, it takes just as long for the problem to be ironed out and it is never done with a smile. You take your life in your hands walking through the parking lot here. This is one of the most dangerous situations if you're a pedestrian. The way the parking lot is built, there's basically an unobstructed road running from front to back, which people sometimes drive through to get from Metropolitan Ave to the street behind the pharmacy and vice versa. If you're approaching CVS from the front, you have to walk in the middle of this two way street situation, which is also the only way to get in and out of the parking lot. A safer bet is to walk around the side and take the sidewalk that leads behind the dumpster to the door. read more

BUT NOW, I've learned my lesson and decided to go back to Rite Aid! Totally out of my way, but it's worth it to get the service that every human being deserves. The incompetence in this cvs is mind boggling. I was sent here by another cvs to transfer a vhs tape to dvd because the first store had no envelopes. They called ahead to ensure cvs in Middle Village had them. I get there, the store is empty. I ask if anyone is at the photo counter, a woman comes, I explain why Im there, she says shes "not sure they can do that" I point to the huge poster behind her & assure her they can. They then tell me Kathy the photo girl is on break. There are 4 other employees behind registers or walking around doing nothing, yet none of them is capable of putting this vhs into an envelope & sending it out. Apparently they are not even capable of taking it, giving me a receipt & waiting for "kathy." I ask to speak to the manager. He is as clueless as the rest. FOUR employees, ONE manager & NONE of them can do anything. We stand around staring at each other till I ask if Kathy called in sick would the whole photo counter shut down. All 5 stare blankly at me.. Trust me, the collective iq in this store doesn't equal one half brain. I hope someone from corporate reads this & addresses this level of incompetence. Maybe since they were all doing NOTHING, when Kathy returns from break she could hold a little tutorial so people could get service. read more
