After Thanksgiving I stopped by AK Bark to pick up a pre-ordered doggy advent calendar and somehow ended up purchasing a bunch of other things. That usually happens when I go there. They have so much to choose from. They happened to have some doggy donut samples out, which immediately grabbed my attention. One doggy donut quickly turned into several because I have three dogs and there was no way they were going to share. The fresh treats were such a fun touch, and I loved seeing options like donuts and cookies available right in the store. AK Bark has a really nice variety of dog toys, clothing, accessories, and treats. Everything was easy to find, and the store itself was clean and well stocked. The staff made the experience even better. Everyone was friendly and helpful. No pressure, just good vibes and great customer service. If you are looking for a place to spoil your dog or dogs a little, AK Bark is definitely worth checking out. As always my German translation, for anyone else who is bilingual out there. Aus einem Donut wurden dann schnell mehrere, weil ich drei Hunde habe geht das Teilen nicht, also habe ich zwei zusätzliche gekauft. Die frischen hunde kekse sind wirklich eine tolle Idee, und ich finde es super, dass Sie Sachen wie Donuts und Kekse haben. AK Bark hat eine richtig schöne Auswahl an Spielzeug, Kleidung, Zubehör und Leckereien für alle Hunde. Der Laden sauber, übersichtlich und die Regale voll. Das Team hat das Einkaufserlebnis noch besser gemacht. Alle waren freundlich und hilfsbereit. Kein Verkaufsdruck, einfach eine angenehme Atmosphäre und richtig guter Service. The pet friendly folks at AK bark are well versed in customer service as well as pet care. Many unique items for you to browse and choose from as well as lots of locally made items for the canine in your life. Super helpful folks behind the counter ( I believe the owner was there my first visit) and his pup were very friendly. My second visit was to exchange a pair of booties for my canine, they were to big. The exchange went smooth and the young woman behind the counter was great. I did receive the wrong change back and did not notice till I got home. I called and the owner was fantastic and made things right AND stayed positive about his staff which I appreciate. Melissa made my visit to AK bark one that I have shared with all the dog parents I know because of the professionalism, positivity and passion she showed!!! I personally don't have a dog nor do I know much about products for dogs, especially ones with allergies! I like to shop local and was told about AK Bark, I have been in twice this week to get Xmas gifts for 3 different dogs, with 3 different allergies, and 3 different rules for chew toys. Melissa was there both days and despite how busy the store was she took the time to show me different products, share her experiences with each product, and was patient while I explained what I was looking for with out making me feel like an obvious non dog owner in a dog store! All of this with a smile while still making sure other customers were acknowledged and not left waiting, I'd give 10 stars if I could! read more

What a cute shop! I stopped by here to get some birthday gifts for my dog (because that's the kind of person I am) who will be 10 next month. They have an excellent variety of treats, outfits, and other gifts for your furbaby. There's even some goodies for cats in the back. You can get some merchandise such as shirts, jewelry, and mugs for the dog lover in your life too. A lot of the items I haven't seen at other pet stores in town and I like supporing local businesses, so I will definitely come back sometime. read more

I've come here a few times, but I don't really buy much except for the CBD which is cannabis oil made here in Alaska by the Alaska Cannabis Exchange. There are other CBD options, but I like buying Alaskan and it's cheaper than the other options. What's not to like? My dog has anxiety and this is a great alternative to medication. It's also a pain reliever. My dog has had great results with the oil and is more manageable around unknown dogs and my sister's dog has become more mobile because of the hip pain relief. The dog actually ran and jumped in the back of my subaru forester. I will come again and peruse the many items such as dog packs, booties, and bike leashes. read more

Never go to Petco again! This awesome store has everything you could possibly need from collars to toys to treats to supplements etc. I originally came to AK Bark to check out the canna-pet products for our extremely anxious rescue dog. Mark(the owner) was extremely knowledgeable about all the canna-pet products and answered all of our questions to help us pick the right product for our boy! We also purchased some amazing durable dog booties since our walk to the nearest park is salted. I 100% recommend this place not only for the awesome made in Alaska products, but also the great customer service I received from Mark! Support local businesses! read more

I went there a couple times for breed specific gifts. I wish there was more variety as I didn't think a magnet, sign or Tshirt was really the perfect fit and they were out of the breed I wanted in the magnet when I was there. AK bark in my opinion is the best pet supply store in all of Anchorage. Mark the owner is super knowledgeable and really gets the best products in and knows his stuff. The workers there are super friendly and Melissa's helped me countless times for dog stuff for my pup. I can sometimes very very extra when it comes to my dog just because I love her so much. But they have always been so patient with me and willing to go the extra mile to get the proper dog supplies for my pup. I really truly appreciate the great customer service and all the help that AK park is provided. We stumbled upon this lovely shop by chance next to Pizza Hut on Saturday and oh my goodness are we glad that we did. The owners were fantastic as was their beautiful dog. We brought out boxer with us and were greeted enthusiastically and felt very welcome. It is important to my husband and I to buy local and support local artists and this is one of the only places I have found Alaska made dog collars. We have been holding out on purchasing our dog's permanent collar for a month now as we were considering special ordering a leather collar from a leather store in town, but when we saw the Alaska made collars we knew that we had to choose one. We purchased a BEAUTIFUL collar for our dog that is absolutely stunning. It complements his coat beautifully and it suits him so well. It was meant to be, I'm certain! It is wonderful to know that this stunning hand-made collar is one of a kind and my boy is so thrilled. The owners keep plenty of Alaska made items including collars, leashes, and artwork. They also carry pet clothing, human clothing, and lovely little accessories for you or your pet. They're top notch! We will be returning if we ever need anything and will continue to shop locally first before entering a big box store. Their prices were very reasonable and competitive. This is, hands down, the best dog shop I have ever been in! If you love your dog and want the coolest stuff for him/her this is the place to be! The options are endless and there is something for everyone. Aside from all the great items, staff is awesome! I went in around 6pm and the girl behind the counter was friendly and knowledgeable without being overbearing or pushy, the perfect combination! After speaking with her for a few minutes and telling her a little about my dog she directed me to several of the perfect choices for my dog leaving the final decision up to me. Had she not done that I would have been in there until closing, everything was so bright and pretty. She handled phone calls and me smoothly and efficiently and I walked away with a smile on my face If you go in at night she will probably be there if not ask for Melissa.
