I like that they also have kennel-less boarding, so that the dogs have the run of the place instead of possibly being stuck next to some incessantly barking dog in the run next to them (which I've seen at a number of kennels), and they have a person there with them the whole night that they can curl up next to. The bonus of being able to use them for both day care and boarding is that your dog is comfortable in a place they know with people they know and love when you have to go away. Two thumbs up!

Yes, my dog may have *slight* issues with biting your face off if you sniff her butt. This is true. But she's still adorable! Seriously: I don't blame them for not taking my new rescue pup. They have to keep their existing canine clients safe and happy. If (when!) I become a client, I would want them to be very picky about who else they accept. I'm reviewing them anyway b/c they were so good to us. They took a lot of time to interview me (human) and Goldie (puppers). I was so impressed with the setup. Big, bright, clean, welcoming. Lots of doors to keep various dogs and packs separate and safe. Walkie-talkies used to communicate (between humans, not dogs) (at least I didn't see any dogs using them) so there's never a chance of human error resulting in some dogs meeting who shouldn't meet. The owners and staff are all true dog lovers and dog experts. They were so sweet to Goldie! She's still afraid of big dogs who approach her, having recently been rescued from a very tough situation. Kari and Peg didn't have to spend so much time with me, but they did. They sympathized with Goldie's situation and said we could try again in 3 months, after Goldie has had more time to decompress. They gave me good tips for training and recommendations for other ways to socialize her. They even took the time to write a personal email to a group dogwalking company, explaining Goldie's issues and connecting us. I see why everyone raves about Dog Tired! Hopefully one day I'll be a client. My little snapping turtle and I are working on our manners with the sole goal of one day being accepted. :)

They have so much to choose from. They happened to have some doggy donut samples out, which immediately grabbed my attention. One doggy donut quickly turned into several because I have three dogs and there was no way they were going to share. The fresh treats were such a fun touch, and I loved seeing options like donuts and cookies available right in the store. AK Bark has a really nice variety of dog toys, clothing, accessories, and treats. Everything was easy to find, and the store itself was clean and well stocked. The staff made the experience even better. Everyone was friendly and helpful. No pressure, just good vibes and great customer service. Turned into a bit of a nightmare for a week, had to have the state vet retest my flock and when that came back negative, we immediately shipped them off. When they arrived they laid eggs on my truck after a 10 hour flight. They're very happy hens, Loved how ravenwood staff were so attentive with my flock and my situation. We appreciated being able to feel comfortable in a place not only with our puppy, but with other handlers and puppies who all wanted the same thing we did - to know how to set our puppy up for success. The class is super informative and interactive, with weekly homework that helps not only ingrain training behaviors but helps you and your dog communicate, bond, and set goals. The area itself is super spacious so while you are in a class you feel like you're able to get the space you need to focus on yourselves and your dogs. There's also a cute little store where you can get all kinds of things - some things you may not have even thought about that catch your interest! Mallory is a great instructor that we highly recommend. She is there for you and your dogs and wants everyone to succeed. The instruction and encouragement, especially when there are struggles, promotes positive feelings and relaxation for all. You really end up leaving a course or a class feeling accomplished and eager to continue outside of the classroom. One of the best decisions we have made when it comes to our puppy was signing him up for this first class, and we can't wait to sign him up for more and continue to grow with him!
