The budgeted price we were given was exceeded by more than 100% as many items that were required we're not ordered or ordered incorrectly, the schedule was repeatedly delayed with weeks going by with no work performed, and the designer was clearly in over her head not knowing what bullnose tile or shoe molding were, for example. On several occasions work was performed contrary to instructions and we were fortunate enough to catch it early enough to correct. In some cases, we did not. We ended up having to fire Decasa Designs and take other steps to complete the project. We do not recommend Decasa Designs - at least for nothing more than the simplest of designs and then we'd recommend you get a professional contractor to manage the project. A quoted 6 week job ended up being 6 weeks of work but that took place over almost 6 months of not having our home. Ouch!

This is just the fabricator, (which was not indicated in any of their written materials or outside sign). When you enter the building, you will encounter hallways and a series of doors. There is no reception area, but if an employee hears you he or she will come out an provide assistance. The employee available referred us to their wholesaler, Easy Stones which was just a few miles away. When we arrived there we were asked to sign in before being taken back to view slabs. They had a great selection of slabs but they were of the exotic variety and reminded me of something I would see in a brothel or club. They were wild! We did pick out a couple we liked but we already have a preferred fabricator and a list of wholesalers from which to choose. When we arrived at Provin we specifically mentioned that we wanted granite to cover our shower walls. This is a specific thickness that is not carried by every wholesaler and we were told that Easy Stones could provide this for us. Well, they can't because they don't carry the necessary material, so we wasted a trip. Anyway, if you are looking for some wild and crazy granite for your brothel, they've got the hook up! *** For me, this was not an effective way of doing business because I would only go to a wholesaler if I wanted something very unique, if they were close to my home and used by my preferred fabricator. Also, I need something very simple for my bathrooms because they need to purr not growl when I walk in. I prefer to just go to the fabricator who has their own slabs, pick what I like, and leave with an estimate in hand. That's what I do, easy, peasy!

I feel very lucky to have found Renewal Design-Build for our home remodel/addition. We're only two…read moreweeks into construction, but these guys have been a delight to work with. They have a very clear process for design and construction. It does involve a lot of meetings, but everyone there is so nice to work with, we didn't mind. They were also great about scheduling meetings at the end of the day, so that we didn't have to miss work. Their architect found a great solution to the problem of adding on to our house without spending a huge amount of money. And, we worked with an interior designer on staff who helped us pick out fixtures and tiles. All very easy! Renewal's team is experienced with the 203K streamline loan, which we used to add onto our home. It would have been difficult to deal with a contractor who was new to this type of loan product. I will definitely post pictures of the finished job. The work will raise our property value, and make our house into our dream home!

The lady who answered the phone told me they would not give me a quote due to the fact that they only do work in the City of Decatur because of "traffic" . She said this after I gave her my zip code. I thought this was odd since I saw one of their yard signs in front of a home they are working on in Grant Park. Last time I checked, Grant Park is way outside of Decatur. West End is not as "gentrified" as Grant Park or Decatur but it is an awesome neighborhood with beautiful historic homes. I guess redlining zip codes is still a thing for some.

TLDR: nope! Oh boy,…read morewhere do I even start? First of all, at the beginning of our kitchen remodel project, we were told that the completion time would be 7-8 weeks. We started mid-October and the project was not completed until LATE-FEBRUARY. That's 20 weeks--- almost 3x the amount of time we were told in the beginning. And yes, sure, everyone always says it'll take longer than you initially expect but this was completely absurd. Delays were caused by ProBuid's lack of communication amongst its subcontractors, resulting in work being done incorrectly and needing to be redone (often more than once). There were also days where no one showed up at all, even though I was expecting them, because other projects took priority over ours, apparently. We felt completely forgotten. Further, when I'd try to get in touch with the owners I'd have to call MULTIPLE times and send MULTIPLE texts before getting a response. Speaking further to the general disorganization of the team, each subcontractor had no idea what the plan was for the remodel, so I had to print multiple sets of plans for each person that arrived. I was asked questions about the plans that I shouldn't have to answer because I wasn't an actual person employed on this project. I have a full-time job and did not have time for this. Upon project "completion" we were left with piles (about $2500 worth, lolol) of unused IKEA cabinetry that we had to haul back to return ourselves, tools not belonging to us, and trash (both in the house and all over the yard). Further, the kitchen may be functional and finished, but there's paint all over a window that wasn't cleaned up, some unfinished trimwork, staple gun holes not spackled and painted, outlets without covers (and one that doesn't even work), etc. In short, this was a cheapish kitchen and it looks exactly like that. I'm completely flabbergasted that so much time and stress resulted in something just mediocre. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Unfortunately, our kitchen remodel did not go as well as we would have liked. Although they tried…read moreto make it right after we complained, we still feel there are some issues that many people would appreciate knowing about. Towards the end of the project, we had continual problems with leaks from the sink/dishwasher re-installation. The co-owner and two of his workers returned four times trying to fix it. The fifth time we hired a plumber ourselves. What we found out was upsetting: Not only had the work not been done by a licensed plumber, they had also used a non-code compliant part in the plumbing. We also have minor water damage to a panel next to the dishwasher on our brand new kitchen. Although they have offered to come out and replace the panel, we have declined because we don't want them messing with our dishwasher and plumbing again. Some minor issues we had: 1. They scheduled us a week earlier than planned because they said they could fit us in. They demolished our kitchen and then told us we now had to wait one week until the cabinet installer would be available. They did provide us with a temporary sink and reinstalled our stove to use, which we did appreciate. 2. The co-owner was late to our very first appointment and was not very verbal with what was going on unless we specifically asked him. 3. Co-owner laid out the design and then when the cabinet installer came, he changed that design which caused the electrical wiring to be in the wrong place. This in the end, delayed us at least 2 days. 4. When demolition was done, none of our appliances were covered to protect them. 5. Floors were left a complete mess and have scuff marks on them now. What went well? 1. Designer was very helpful and spent four hours with us to design our kitchen plan. 2. The worker who did the demo and original electrical work was helpful and flexible. 3. The cabinet installer was very thorough and communicative, everything was done professionally. Throughout the entire process we were told "Once it's done you're going to love it". Well, yeah, of course. But the whole process is part of the customer experience. Unfortunately, our experience was less than stellar.

Originally got a fast reply via phone, set up an appointment, and had someone come out and take a look at the basement. He was friendly and seemed to be interested and capable. He said he would go back and work out a floor plan and pricing estimates for what we had discussed. He did let me know that they were behind on some projects, and we discussed that it was not an immediate need, but he said he would get back to me in about 2 weeks. 3 weeks passed and I reached back out. The person I called said he could see that it was being worked out and to just give it some more time. It's now been 7 months, and have given up believing I might eventually get a quote.
