First time sushi was good but it was takeout only, when waiting for the sushi to be made the owners were very nice and engaging. We were planning on going again but we found some stuff saying the health levels weren't good and we weren't willing to risk it at that point. read more

I went along on a lunch with my boyfriends family, and while I am no fan of sushi I loved it there! My boyfriend and his family each ordered a roll and shared everything. I ordered from the hot side of the menu and got a beef teriyaki lunch box and it was really delicious. I'm still thinking about the meal i had a day later. Everything we've had at this tiny place has been great. After about the 5th time there I expected to find something to complain about but these guys really have a cool little spot that'd do well in a big city. We've covered most of the menu and I have to say the menu is massive for such a small place. The tempura udon is a killer noodle soup for a cold day. Plenty of tempura is coupled with a delicate broth in a very large portion. The hand rolls are fantastic and creative and the portions are just right. The nigiri is very fresh and they have the rice-to-fish proportions down just right Overall, I think the only thing they could do to bump the rating to 5 stars is add something really creative to the menu. Most everything on this menu is something you've seen before. In the end though, you're in a tiny town and this place is a welcome surprise. read more

Love their sushi, one of my favourites is Ikura or salmon roe. I get it regularly and it is usually great. But last time it had a bitter taste. I phoned them to let them know (spent $39 on sushi for one) and they said thanks but didnt offer any fresher or anything to replace the inedible sushi. read more

For a small town, we are very fortunate to have Aka Daka Sushi. This is our families go-to when we are wanting to go out to eat. Affordable, fantastic service, and great menu selection for this local favorite. Yummy sushi is a given. Highly recommend. read more

My sons and I have eaten at Aka Daka Sushi for the past six months at least twice a week and I can honestly say the consistency and quality of the sushi has been terrific. Not only it is great but affordable. Service by Candace and Louis has always been wonderful and so nice when people remember your order (I am creature of habit and order mostly same thing every time). Sushi chef is first rate and once again, quality of sushi is as good as any major metropolitan city. Maybe not the bells and whistles of trendy chic restaurants but great sushi at a great price is a pretty great thing in landlocked Rossland! read more
