Kristi is truly one of a kind My boyfriend and I came to her desperate for help with our new pup, Kona, who struggled with severe anxiety. He was scared of pretty much everything -- people, new environments, being separated from us -- and we were also dealing with barking, basic obedience, and some unwanted behaviors. After just 4 sessions, the transformation has been unbelievable. Today was our final session, and I honestly wish I had a video of how Kona used to be so people could truly understand how far he's come. At the beginning, he wouldn't even go up to Kristi and was extremely hesitant and fearful whenever she took the leash. Now? He confidently walks up to her on his own terms -- calm, trusting, and self-assured. That alone speaks volumes. Kristi didn't just train Kona -- she guided us on how to train him the right way. She's patient, knowledgeable, supportive, and truly cares about both the dog and the owners. She sets you up for success, but it's important to note that the progress comes from continuing the work at home too -- and her guidance made that possible for us. We are beyond grateful for Kristi and everything she's done for our pup. If you're dealing with anxiety, fear, or behavioral issues and want real results, Island Dog Obedience is 100% worth it. I cannot recommend her enough!

He does a free initial assessment to gauge where your dog is at and some things you're wanting to work on. He caters to your wants and desires you want to get from your dog. Each session you talk with him what you want to work on and how to achieve it. Has personalized notes you get to keep after each session. Even had a meet up class with several dogs which was super fun for the dogs to get to train around other dogs. His prices are very reasonable and he works with you on days and times you want to meet and train. My dogs have definitely learned and became much better mannered. He leaves you with tips and tricks to continue your training after your sessions are over. Would recommend his training forsure!

That's when I learned that just because your dog can sit or lie down on command doesn't mean you are in control. I was missing big fundentals and so seeking out trainers I came across Canine coach. I've searched many other places and called and contacted many and decided this place. It's 1000% true when your dog is trained in a house is better then in a facility of farm or wherever they may go because for a dog it's a different environment then when they are at home with you. Miles did great with our Isabella and is always willing to help and follow up with us. I highly recommend him!

Then a year later we added Cleo (Border Collie) to our family. Everything you hear about Border Collies are true! So we finally decided to have her do the 2 week board and train with Deanna. That was the best decision we made. This was followed up with additional session and e-collar training. What a difference! It is an ongoing effort and the training never stops for both Marley and Cleo. But now we are better equipped to take them to the park, the beach, on hikes, have a dull house of family over and the dogs can enjoy all these events with us. Thank you so much to Deanna snd your team!

Any trainer and business owner that would video record a family at a park including a minor child…read morewithout consent to shame that family and post that on her business social media page is not someone I would ever support. To publicly shame a family and zoom in on a young child and post on a public business page without thinking about the well being of a child says a lot of her character. We were at the dog park in Kailua where we frequent with known families with dogs. Our dog is being trained and is working on recall. The incident where he runs off to another dog where the owner not part of the group, she was recording and zoomed up on my 8 year old and posted this interaction on her business page to shame us and promote her services. The video also shows us immediately putting a leash on our dog once he ran off. Dogs cannot be perfect without having these trainings in public parks, and our dog has never shown any aggressive behavior to any person or dog. While recording in a public park is not illegal, it is concerning behavior to be hiding in her car recording a minor without consent, and posting it on a public business page to promote her business is not legal and also very shady. While she took down the video (which we saved a copy of) after my husband messaged her to remove our son in her video, she did not respond to his message or apologize for her very big lapse in judgement. Not only that, she reposted a photo of my dog saying the owner requested us to take the video down and her intent was not to cause embarrassment, but didn't mention the issue we raised which was to remove our son. The dog community is small especially here in Kailua, and we were sent that video by multiple friends and even a parent of a friend of my 8 year old son to warn us that he was in the video. It's very alarming and we do not take the safety of our children lightly. Disappointed that a professional dog trainer would do this and think it is ok to use public shaming as marketing for her business. Everyone makes mistakes and I hope she learns from this and doesn't exploit minors or record people to shame them, even going as far to say "don't be that guy" while playing circus music in her reel. And rather than apologizing she doubles downs and posts our dog without taking accountability that she took a video of our child without consent and posted it on her page.

For anyone who is looking for an integrative medicine practice for their four legged family…read moremembers, I strongly recommend KAI Animal Institute. They were referred to us by our vet at VCA Kaneohe to treat our dog's degenerative disease that impacted her spinal cord, affecting her back legs and ability to walk. She had been going for laser therapy treatment at VCA for pain which was initially working, then her vet recommended Dr. Gregg Levine and KAI Animal Institute as an integrative and complementary mode of treatment for pain management of her spinal cord disease. We're so glad her vet recommended KAI Animal Institute. In our first communication with Dr. Levine, he went over our dog's history over the phone, and went over various modes of treatment he could offer to relieve our dog's pain. We then setup a treatment session at his healing studio for him to assess our dog's health and recommend the most appropriate course of treatment. Stepping into KAI Animal Institute's studio, we were greeted with a calming and healing oasis that was thoughtfully designed for animals where Dr. Levine used various treatments like low level light laser therapy, rehab therapy, targeted pulse electromagnetic field therapy, and acupuncture for our dog's pain. In addition, his wife, Julie, an animal behaviorist, performed harmonic therapy for our dog during the treatment which used sound healing powers to further help calm and treat our dog in addition to the acupuncture, etc. Soothing music was played in the background during the treatment session which helped even my husband and I to relax. During and after each session, we could see a change in our dog's behavior and demeanor. She would smile and be so happy, excited to go to KAI Animal Institute's healing oasis and see Dr. Levine and Julie because she knew they would help her feel better. She was able to stand for brief periods with assistance and continually kept trying to use her back legs on her own. Mahalo Nui Loa Dr. Levine and Julie for providing such kind, compassionate, and caring treatments to our dog to help her with pain management. We are so thankful, grateful and blessed to have met Dr. Levine and Julie and can't recommend them enough for complementary care for animals dealing with pain or recovering from an injury or surgery.

His holistic approach to addressing whatever issue the dog is presenting that day and using the full range of therapies to treat them instead of having to pick from an ala carte menu like other places has been amazing. From acupuncture, to cold laser therapy, and even fun physical games that get the dog to strengthen the right muscles. Even a stroll along the beach was integrated to help heal the mind and body. Being a part of the therapy myself as opposed to just waiting outside a clinic has strengthened the bond and trust between my dog and myself. She has learned new tricks, even at the age of 13, that have enriched her life and our relationship. We started with him to just address a back leg injury Keira had suffered, but have since expanded to help Keira heal and hold off the bits of aging her body has begun to show. I am beyond pleased with the results and use the therapy and training techniques Dr. Levine taught us daily to continue my dog's healing and progress. As you can see in the last photo, Keira is a very happy customer at the end of every session! I can't recommend Kai Animal Institute enough!

Eric Sacks is currently under criminal investigation for dog abuse…read more Sometimes I wake up with nightmares because of the way Eric and his employees injured my dog. I sent my dog away for three weeks in January after assurances that he would be well taken care of. My dog was supposed to work on his separation anxiety and crying. Eric and his team cut and burned my dogs neck (see vet analysis) with a shock collar for three weeks, and didn't give him his medicine as instructed. He didn't take him to the vet after he hurt his neck, either. Furthermore, he refuses to give us a full refund, which shows that he cares more about money than the animals he is trusted with. I am posting this as informative information to others. The photos show my dog's neck after the veterinarian cleaned his wounds out. He was prescribed painkillers and antibiotics for two weeks. I wish I never sent my dog there. I wish I never trusted Eric. He should not be caring for animals. Update in response to Eric: Eric is a liar, and took advantage of my emotions when I was processing that my dog was hurt by him. He isn't even quoting the right amounts of money he owes me ($2,250.72), and is violating his confidentiality agreement with the mediation center. A business owner should refund all money to the owners, including vet costs. My dog's training did not improve, nor have I ever said that it did. He still cries from separation anxiety when he is alone. Eric's services did not do us any good and he is weak and incapable of owning up to his mistakes. Furthermore, I sent my dog to Eric with instructions for giving my dog medicine. Eric is clearly disorganized and neglectful of this. The veterinary bills show that there IS thermal damage. Anyone with a brain knows that thermal damage means burns. Get over yourself. I HAVE NOT CREATED ANY FAKE ACCOUNTS NOR ASKED ANYBODY TO LEAVE A BAD REVIEW. I only shared my own story on my own social media accounts. People do what they want on their own free will. Many people love my dog, and it is their constitutional right to free speech to vocalize their own perspectives on their own free will, especially about matters of public concern - including dog abuse. At Eric's request, I tried to settle our dispute privately, which is why I did not post in January. I wanted to, but gave this horrible trainer the benefit of the doubt in being a good business owner and handling this appropriately. Now I am sharing the truth. There is no slander. Only truth.
