Where do I start??? Natalie is FANTASTIC, patient, friendly, and punctual. When we decided to add a member to our family, after finding a breeder, we KNEW that we needed a trainer to help us transition from never having a pet, to being a patient and loving furry family. The day that we picked up Izzy from the breeder, we texted Natalie on the way home and she met us in less than an hour after introducing Izzy to her new home. Izzy's training began immediately, and I could tell that she adored Natalie and paid attention to EVERYTHING she said and did. We've since had additional training sessions and day outings. I have to preface my review by saying that I think its really strange to make a negative review because a business prefers to communicate via phone, or because they are unable to service your area. Your weird reviews make me feel obligated to leave a legit review from an actual customer. We found Barkhaus last year and use them as often as we can. We were thrilled when one of our neighbor dogs started attending Barkhaus outings too, now the neighbor doggies can go on field trips together! Natalie and Andres go out in the mornings (M-F) and pick up all the dogs. They then meet up for cool dog friendly hikes and the raddest photo seshes. Im serious, the photos you see on IG of your dog having a blast will make your day! I have friends who are not dog owners, who follow Barkhaus because their social media is totally awesome and completely heart warming. Seeing my dog chilling with all the homies brings me pure joy, and I know it makes his day. His favorite thing in the WORLD is hearing Natalie pull up. Natalie shames the dog whisperer, okay. She is pure canine magic. It's wonderful to watch. Bummers! I was truly looking forward to having my pup attend their educational day care. I inquired and was immediately given information to enroll my pup. For a working professional, I wish I had more time to spend with the pup during the day but that's just not the case. That's why I turned to Bark Haus. I was told I could enroll my pup into the daycare starting at $50 a day. The price could increase based on his skill levels and how much time and work it'll Take to train him. Perfect. Pickup time is around 9-10a and drop off is around 3p. Ok! I emailed asking to confirm a date and the lack of response is ridiculous. Yes, the owner gave me her cell phone number in the email but personally, it's not my job to call and chase you around. The best part, they set a date for a Thursday and Wednesday morning at 430am I confirmed and asked for a time frame .. all day, no response. It wasn't until 9p at night (Wed) that they replied asking if they could add my pup to their Thursday route. So I emailed and voiced my opinion on the poor communication last night at 9:10p and at 7:30a today I got a response. Fastest reply I've ever received from them. It was a reply full of condescending sentences mentioning how my decision to not use their services will have my pup "ultimately loosing out in the end" . "I am sorry this is not a match for you on a personal level" Do you realize that dogs can't stay home and lock the house up on their own? They can't just stroll out the house at any given time and get ready for a walk! As a pet owner, you would think a dog service would take into consideration the busy day to day schedule of the owner. Also, I had filled out an application with my address and personal information. When information is released like that, it's a little sketchy to have a lack of response. I kindly asked them to discard my application and information. I wouldn't waste my time with this service. Unless you prefer talking or texting the owner. In order to get to that point tho, you may have to wait a bit for an email response with their contact info. read more

We were so fortunate to find Barkhaus back in 2017, when we moved back to Miami in 2015 we struggled going from doggie day care to doggie day care unable to find a good fit for our pup Mulder. At the time he was a high energy, 2 year old, blue heeler mix, with fear anxiety that would manifest through fear aggression towards other dogs. We couldn't even take him to dog parks anymore because he would attack other dogs. After one day of being with Natalie and Andres our pup was already a different dog. He quickly began walking better on his leash with us, obeying commands better, and he integrated flawlessly into their pack. Seeing pictures and Instagram posts of him playing with other dogs of all sizes would bring tears to my eyes. I could see he was finally feeling safe and happy. Barkhaus became his second home. We are eternally grateful to Andres and Natalie for caring and loving Mulder as their own and helping him be the dog we all knew he could be! They are true professionals and genuinely care about dogs, they did not turn away our pup when he arrived at their door with his "rap sheet" of bad experiences from other day cares. I'm not sure what kind of magic they use to keep dogs still while they take pictures of them, but I LOVE the pictures they have taken of my little chihuahua. The fist time I brought Lupita to this place Natalie recommended me to change her food for a better quality one because I was given her the equivalent of McDonald's every day. She even emailed me links to different brands of food she recommends. If that's not caring for your dog then what is? They are also very responsive when you contact them and the payment process is very convenient and straight forward. I don't believe in dogs staying at luxurious hotels, that's just not in their nature. What they need is love, run around, play, eat when they have to, and rest. This place gives them that and more. He couldn't even be with any dogs and seeing that makes me so sad because he gotta play by himself or with us. I wanted him to chase other dogs around like he used to do. I was looking for someone who can help and found these people. It was the first time for him to be someone not us so I was worried so much but he did great for the first day! He couldn't be with any dogs but he walked with some dogs and even sitting with them! This might be a normal thing for all dogs but it's a huge improvement for him! And it happened in only one day!!! For my money Barkhaus is the best pet boarding/dog daycare in Miami. Unfortunately with a dog like ours (4 year old Portuguese Water Dog named Clive), we've had the privilege of trying out several dog daycares in Miami. He even got kicked out of one! While every dog is of course different and every situation unique, I will tell you why Barkhaus is the best for OUR dog. At the Haus, he gets structured activity and stimulation tailored to him and isn't just put in a giant room to go crazy all day. For some dogs I think that the romper room style facility is just fine, but I found with my dog (who is energetic, smart, and a bit headstrong), those types of facilities just made it so at the end of the day when I brought him home, I was dealing with a nervous, fidgety, and less disciplined dog. Over the years we have spent a ton of time and money training our dog, and it's frustrating picking him up from a day care where he puts his feet on the counter (which he's not allowed to do at home), or barking like crazy, or engaging in a bunch of other stuff he doesn't really get to do at home. Barkhaus of course lets the dogs run around and play and be dogs, but they do so in an environment that is stimulating and hierarchal. The dogs become part of a pack and they go for great long pack walks and your dog is given attention by the proprietors of the business (serious dog people) and not just folks staring at their phones until their shift is over. They develop a relationship with your dog and make sure the dog behaves in a constructive way and actually gets attention the dog needs. From my experience there has not been a better place to take Clive. We've taken Clive there for almost 3 years. He loves going to Barkhaus, and more importantly when I take him home Clive is relaxed, obedient, and better for it (mostly, I won't tell you about the time he ate the bedding when we boarded him that one time). I can't recommend Barkhaus enough. Hit them up. read more

Barkhaus keeps it reeeeeeaaaal professional! It's a classy joint that manages to also be completely warm and laid back. They seem to have a well-oiled system, as they responded almost immediately to my emails, and yes, I'm ashamed to say, there were many emails. Payments are submitted online which streamlines the whole process. They made sure the dog had the proper medical history, which made me feel safe leaving a puppy around other dogs, and were very accomodating both times I needed to extend the boarding period. I've seen both Andres and Natalie with the dogs and their love, patience, and passion for their business, really shines through. I was able to relax during my vacation because I knew she would be well cared for. They are clearly extremely knowledgeable when it comes to proper dog care, and their need for play. Barkhaus is hands down the BEST doggie daycare, boarding, training, and playtime you can get for your pup in Miami (and everywhere else!). My French bulldog Louie goes to daycare once a week and has also had multiple overnight sleepovers (boarding) at Barkhaus. He LOVES Andres and Natalie and basically jumps out of the car when he sees that we're approaching the Haus! They are the nicest, most caring, and attentive people and I trust them more than my family with my fur baby. When I first adopted Ruby, I was extremely apprehensive about where to leave her while I worked my sometimes 16 hour shifts, and with an incredibly busy schedule, I was nervous that I may have made the wrong decision to adopt a dog at that time. Barkhaus alleviated my nervousness from day one. With dogs of all shapes and sizes, and a tired little girl at the end of the day who greeted me with kisses, I knew I'd be okay. I will say Natalie and Andres are very protective of their facility, and rightfully so. There is a huge liability when you're dealing with other people's fur babies, which makes me trust the way they run their business even more. The team may give you tips/suggestions when you pick up your doggy to better progress your dogs education/behavior. And they will know if your following through. When we left to a cruise for a week, it was a big headache to find someone to take care of our everything - a staffordshire bull terrier Bleau. After some research I found the Barkhaus and it was our best decision to make!! Being on a vacation everyone wonders how is his little sweetheart doing but Natalie was sending us videos and we got to see pictures posted online. I boarded Stella, our Bull Mastiff puppy at Barkhaus for 6 days while on vacation. When I picked her up I could immediately tell that she was very well cared for. It is clear that she received a lot of attention and love. It is obvious to me that the business owners have a deep understanding of dog behavior and more importantly, a great passion for what they do. We needed a safe and fun place for our dog Ruby to stay while we enjoyed a family vacation and The Barkhaus was more than we expected. Andres sent me photos and updates while we were away and it was obvious that Ruby was having a blast staying with them. Amazing dog boarding/sitting and amazing people. We try to take our dog Wallace, a french bulldog, to Barkhaus for doggie day care once a week because he has a great time and always comes back happy/tired. We have used Barkhaus to watch Wallace one weekend and he had an amazing time. They were so accommodating when our dog stayed there for the weekend and needed to be given his medication. Worst pet care experience ever. If you love your dog and want respectful interaction don't come here. Firstly I tried calling and leaving messages with no reply for months. Finally they emailed to shove me into a first avail slot without asking when I needed or any other show of human interaction. when I asked about the program and care, pointing out they have pictures online where they takes a dozen dogs out and have them off leash in high traffic urban areas, they told us we're not the right fit. So if you want to have your dog running free in the streets with people who clearly don't want to be responsible, I guess this is for you. Let me say I'm no stranger to pet daycare. We love Dog Dude Ranch and every neighborly mom and pop service. We only tried this because it was so close to home and work. Take care of your pets and stay away. read more

I don't yelp so the fact that I am here is a testament to how happy I am with Barkhaus. I have never really left my dog with anyone except family and a few friends so I was a little concerned about leaving him with total strangers! An hour after dropping my dog I guess my fatherly instinct kicked in and I sent a text saying I missed him. They assured me he was having a great time and told me to check out their face book page where they had just posted a video of him. All of my concerns dissolved when I saw my pup having a great time in the park with the other dogs. He actually looked like he was smiling. I was sent pictures daily of him relaxing, watching the game with friends, and being pampered. I started to worry he might not want to come home!!! I'm so glad that I found this place! I initially picked Barkhaus because they emphasize obedience and structure for the dogs. I don't like my dog to roam free and misbehave. I take my dog here for boarding and daycare. Andre and Natalie are super responsive to email and text. They are very accommodating, especially when I ask last minute to drop my dog off. I don't have enough words to explain how amazing Natalie & Andres are at what they do. My American Bulldog Molly, whom is very high maintenance with high amounts of energy at all times stayed with Natalie & Andres for over a month due to personal circumstances - They catered to Molly's every need, kept her in a routine and looked after her so well. She absolutely loved her stay there, making new friends every day, bonding with all the other dogs, playing with their toys, daily games and their daily pack walks. Molly didn't want to leave she was having that much fun!!! If you need somewhere for your dog to stay whether it be short or long, Barkhaus is the place and Natalie & Andres are the go to people. They know and understand every dog is different and has different needs and their priority is to make sure everything is met to the highest possible standard.
