Fantastic deli sandwiches in the case. Fresh, high-quality ingredients. Great assortment. Several soups to choose from, salad bar. I chose the Turkey Powerhouse sandwich and a cup of the split pea soup. Delicious! Small seating area indoors and a few tables outside. When you're tired of the drive-thru burgers and chicken, pop by Akin's Natural Foods. Faster than several fast-food options, healthier and much better. This one is a sleeper! read more

I am from another state and was looking for a place to pick up some supplements and vitamins and found this place on Yelp. I was so pleasantly surprised. It's not a big store but the things they carried were really good ones. They had Very friendly service from start to finish. Knowledgeable staff and products not carried in your average grocery store. The choices in organic produce are good & they have Clean meats & the selection of cheeses was top notch as well. I was also able to find most of the supplements I take. If your looking to upgrade your food quality and have a nice selection of vitamins this is a great store to go to. read more

The only place I know in town where I can mix and match by favorite flavors of larabars. I am surprised by the amount of frozen foods they have, as I haven't seen that at a natural food store before. Came here last week looking for a specific protein powder (Garden of Life RawProtein) and they had it, so I was happy. I moved here two months ago and was surprised I hadn't come here yet. I love shopping at health food markets with a lot of vegan/vegetarian and organic options. I was happy to see this place had that! They don't have a large produce area, but at least everything is organic. They have a very large supplement/health area which is nice. They also have a lot of frozen/refrigerated food section. Yes it is priced high, but a lot of other markets here geared towards the more holistic/health people are priced higher than Walmart.. what do you expect? Coming from CA I understand these prices (though sometimes I could find cheaper items since there are so many health markets in CA). I think it is worth buying some items here since I can't find them anywhere else. I'm a fan of Garden of Life products which they carry and they had some coupons for them. My experience with the customer service was good. Very friendly and helpful. However, the number on Yelp takes you to the corporate office, so hopefully they get that changed! I'm not the most healthiest guy in the world but my wife is slowly converting me. AKiN'S is our go to spot for finding natural alternatives to some our typical purchases. Sure it's a bit pricey but it's worth it. The employees will search high and low for whatever you're looking for and they're knowledgeable on the products they sell. They just added a fresh smoothie bar and it's very tasty. It's definitely a hidden gem here in NWA. Love this place read more

As a regular customer at Akins, I am well aware of the pros and cons. Honestly, I just take it for what it is, a place where you can find products that aren't at the supermarket. Plus the service there is excellent. The folks who work there will bird dog for you, until they find what you are looking for. They are also knowledgeable about their products. They carry Xlear, my favorite nasal spray, Garden of Hope Raw Calcium, which is the BEST calcium supplement, lemon gumdrop vitamin d (super yummy), and sugar free vegan ice cream. If you are looking for supplements, they are a fantastic resource. They have a good selection of prepackaged, and frozen food too, but they are lacking is in the produce. Tucked in a little corner, of the waaay back of the store, it is kind of pitiful. The ambiance of the store is kind of sterile. More like a pharmacy or something. Not very inviting. It does not make me want to go in and spend a long time looking for unique products. I now understand why WF and FM have the flowers and produce, when you first walk in. The lighting isn't so sterile at those markets either. Still, Akin's has what I need, and it is convenient. It is my go to health food store. Update 2018!!! They have reconfigured the store, adding a juice/smoothie bar, as well as organic rotisserie chickens. The chicken is yummy! I was excited when Akins first opened as I use a lot of specialty and vegetarian/vegan products. After a couple of positive experiences, everything seemed to go downhill. Constantly out of stock, slow checkout, insanely high prices on items that Walmart, Amazon and others carry for far less, lazy customer service One of many examples: Asking if they could check in the back room for a couple of items that were completely sold out on the shelf (on several previous visits, store associates found back stock on items that were not on the shelf), only to have the guy reply "So, they weren't on the shelf?" Uh. No. Hence the query. Just getting the basics right would make all the difference. Whole Foods is due to break ground in Fayetteville. I'll be there with bells on. read more
