Although I was concerned that much of their work, though seemingly well done, was all very similar and somewhat generic (all gray and white), I know that's trendy now, and I figured I'd seek some reassurance that individual (and more creative) tastes could be accommodated. I spoke to the project manager who was responsive enough ... at first. He asked what I was looking for in a contractor and explained the process from design to installation. Everything sounded exactly like what we were looking for. And then ... I asked what the average cost for an en suite bath was. I had already done my research, which revealed that the average cost ranges from $18,000 to $25,000 (according to HomeAdvisor). Because of supply issues, I expected Slabaugh's answer to be a bit higher, but I certainly did not expect the project manager to quote a cost double that! He told me that I could expect to pay just under $60,000! I should also note that this estimate was provided without actually seeing the space. When I expressed surprise by this number, I was NOT provided with any explanation. I wasn't told that supply chain issues had increased the cost by 100% or that they used only top tier materials. There was no explanation about paying subcontractors or difficulty in finding qualified workers. Instead, I could almost hear the shrug over the phone as the project manager said, "Maybe we're not the right fit for you," a comment I found dismissive and condescending." Even so, I suggested that maybe my husband and I could stop by the showroom. I was thinking that perhaps I could get a more satisfactory explanation in person. That's when I found out that's it's only open four days a week until 5 and not at all on weekends. As someone who has a job, I explained that those times didn't work with my schedule. "People work," I said. "What do they do?" He silently shrugged again. "They take the time off." So, if you're looking to spend $20,000 more than you have to, if you want want to be dismissed and condescended to, if you want to adjust your schedule to the company you're hiring, then this might be the company for you. I, on the other hand, found a much more pleasant company with which to work, whose quote (after seeing the space) has come in at between $30,000 and $40,000. The company is still very local and has an amazing showroom. So far, they've been easy to work with and they treat me like I actually matter.

It's very disappointing to write this review; however, we had a terrible experience with RNBD…read more After a flood damaged our basement we searched online for a home contracting company and, based on the reviews, chose RNBD. Initially, communication was great and we accepted the quote that Ryan provided. It then took months for them to begin the work and, once the work finally began, we were never given an end date for completion. We also asked for proof several times that any employees were bonded and secured and were assured verbally that they were, but were never provided proof. The plumbing that RNBD did was fine but what was quickly shown that was not great, was the carpentry work - workmanship on the trim, stairs, stair threads, etc. was extremely poor as indicated by my photos. Communication was sorely lacking and after many attempts to reach the owner, Brandy, she finally came to our home and agreed that the workmanship was not good and said she would make it right. This would involve a certified carpenter that she promised would be coming but never did. Instead, the same employee who did the poor workmanship was sent back. The owner eventually broke the contract after an unfortunate and very disrespectful incident in our driveway that was performed by the employee but we were still owed product that we had paid for. Again, communication and customer service were lacking as it took persistence on our part to finally receive this product a few weeks later. A month after they cancelled our contract RNBD charged our credit card without our approval and did not make our online account available to even view this. After disputing with the credit card company, we were able to have these charges reversed but not without providing much documentation and wasted time. Additionally, the address that RNBD indicates as their business address is not a physical location but is instead a Staples store - unfortunately we realized this after the fact. We have never dealt with such an incompetent and disrespectful company and spent a lot of money for a job that was not even completed! This was also the first time that we have ever had to contact legal advice because of a contractor. A customer should not be treated like this and we were left with a half unfinished basement with truly shoddy workmanship. Sadly, we cannot recommend this company.

The person (lance) who came out was very personable. Now I didnt realize this but their quote was 1500 less than the other guy I fired. Also Lance is a dialed in person. He called Provia on my door and he told me that the door I was getting was not compatible so we had to switch. The previous guy was going to give me that door with the side lights. (Was it going to even work??) yeah so there was that. The appointment took minutes. We also talked about basement glass block windows. Their prices. Right on the sheet AND they were really good about 1/2 what I expected to pay. So I am going to do that too before the winter. Anyhow when all was said and done Window Universe was less than the guy I almost used and Lance double checked he got the proper sized windows and sidelights. Great experience and I still have 3+ weeks before the windows show up. Ill come back and add some pictures after it is done. I know it is going to be great.

We are so pleased with our beautiful quartz countertops. Akron Granite Countertops made the whole process so easy. This family run small business was amazing and took such care with every step. Even when I second guessed my original choice, they were patient and helped me realize the vision I wanted. KORKAN GRANITE when you read this and I know you will, be sure to take notes... 1) On the date of installation call before arriving and or have a set start time so your customers know when to expect you instead of all a sudden arriving at a mystery time 2) Be sure all employees poop before arriving at your customers house it is beyond unacceptable and disrespectful to take MULTIPLE dumps in your customers bathroom...like really??? What is wrong with you??? 3) Be sure all employees wear protective booties on their shoes because tromping around your customers house with your work boots on is??? Yep you guessed it UNACCEPTABLE!!! 4) When cutting holes in granite for cooktops or anything else bring a dust-less cutter or have a separate system that catches 99% of dust and if don't have something THEN BUY ONE!!! Its called running a business get the right tools to do the job. You're working in OCCUPIED spaces!!! Cutting GRANITE in someone's residence is already a bad idea but if you have to do it do it right!!! One box fan and one shop-vac that I could get from Big Lots is NOT acceptable. I don't expect zero dust, what I do expect is a little care and professionalism, leave the area like you found it, act like you've worked in a OCCUPIED space before. 5) If you plan on shooting plooms of granite dust everywhere then bring tape and plastic and plastic off OPENINGS to surrounding areas and other things that are important LIKE brand new APPLIANCES!!! I'm just beyond shocked and disappointed that this is what the service industry has become lately...DO BETTER I WILL NOT be a returning or a referring customer to this place. I had another contractor check it out and he discovered the cabinets had short less than 1/2" screws holding the lazy susan and other cabinets which broke away and also many of the other cabinets loosened. I did not call Iris due to the fact it was installed improperly and that was my choice for contractors not her fault. So just make sure you watch who you hire to install. I tell ya, he was only $250.00 off of the other quotes we received. So, we were impressed with his pricing ability to be so close to our other quotes. Luckily for us, we went on vacation the day AJ & his team started the project. AJ kept us updated on how it was going throughout the project. We always knew what was going on and where we stood on scheduling. With our Century Home, the bathroom water lines & drains were corroded and clogged, the floor under the toilet was rotted, the bathtub walls, drains and mold was a major headache. Jackson remodeling fixed all of that. Now, I have NO issues with drinking tap water from the bathroom sink and the mold is gone due to the ceiling fan installation. We couldn't be happier with our new bathroom. We can't wait to have AJ and his team to come back and remodel our kitchen. I highly recommend these guys. UPDATE: The new shower head sprung a leak. AJ came out the very next day, figured out the problem, ordered the defective part and got it fixed ASAP. Luckily, it was a manufacturer defect and was under warranty. With regard to the comment about a "consultation fee" - if you have been to any well-honed company, you would know this is how they all function. Why would anyone spend time, draw up specs, etc. for you to decide you don't want to do the job, or put it off for another year? The entire crew coming to view the project? It's fantastic. Each has questions about details and suggestions that you, yourself don't think of. I called the business and told them that I was going to purchase from them. The owner came to take measurements and my sink. Three weeks after that I got a call with a date they were coming to install my countertop. When they came they actually built a template out of wood and took that template out to my driveway and cut the piece of granite right there! They installed my undermount sink but they also have some available to purchase at a great price. They are available in bisque and white in rectangular and round I believe. The husband and wife team did all of the work themselves and they were amazing! They are from Romania and they were wonderful to talk to and I got great travel advice for a future trip there! I would absolutely give them my business again and I highly recommend them to anyone needing to have granite countertops installed.

Your phone calls will not get returned and you have to physically go to the store to ask a question. All the positive reviews are by friends and family and not actual customers.
