The food was overrated. The pulled pork was way too sour and the salad was disappointing. To top it off, we had to switch tables twice. The first table by the window had dozens of flies harassing us. The second table had a ceiling fan just blasting us. Not a good experience at all. Perhaps we should have had their tacos which they are known for. read more

Seemed very busy, but got a table outside right away and the service was really fast! We had the Gringas tacos (Thurs only) and the corn salad (seasonal). Easy to share for 2 people and more than enough food to feel satisfied! May I just say that those Gringas tacos are one of the best foods I have had in my life?! Both of us had the eyes-closed-low-moan-of-wonderment moment! The corn salad was excellent, too, but overshadowed by the tacos. What a meal! We were so excited to go to Walla Walla and hit Andre's again. We discovered that they moved out of the gas station and into a nice place. It is an attractive building but a little cold. Such a shame. They have the perfect spot, but the food may as well have been soaked in salt brine. The brisket, ribs, even the cheese in the quesadilla and the fries were doused in salt. Granted, it wasn't table salt and had great flavor, but let me just say it's a good thing the salsa verde and cremas were spicy as he!! to calm down the salt. Nonetheless, we left dinner wanting to stick our heads in the horse trough to guzzle some water and grab some ice cream-- which oddly, isn't on the menu. They could be banking in millions with some ice cream on a dessert menu. Our son took 2 bites of his Cuban (no gluten free bread options here... only shredded lettuce which made this very odd) and couldn't finish it because of the richness. Same story with the quesadilla, and look- my 12 year old growing boy does not say no to food- and he did tonight- twice. Food aside, my Negroni was small but tasty and I would have loved a second but the waitress acknowledged first off that she forgot to send it in and then 2 minutes later corrected herself to say her "machine keeps forgetting to send orders in", but oh she's so sorry. Not the best Menu. I had the Shrimp po boy and it was extremely basic. I would compare it to a fish sandwich from Mcdonalds but 4 times the price. My girlfriend got the Tacos Gringas....if your looking for cheese, grease and an upset stomach, than this is for you. We were pretty bummed out with our experience. There are definitely better places to get a drink as well. Cocktails are $12, even for a Bloody Mary and a local beer from Burwood is gonna cost you $6. If your curious about this place than give it a shot but there are certainly better places to spend your money. read more

I've been to AK a few times now, and this time was the absolute worst. I don't want to harp on the hostess, because this was obviously not her fault and was the result of a mismanaged restaurant as soon as we walked in. We were a larger group of 10 with willingness to wait for up to an hour for a table. We were told that we could drink in the waiting area... and yet we were ignored for the first half hour while trying to order our drinks that took another half hour to make (and most of them were shots). As we waited, the hostess came out with random updates of "we can seat you at different tables" and "the kitchen needs two orders," and after making it very clear that we wanted to be seated together and would be happy to work with the kitchen, they came out twice more to ask the same question. The final straw (after a full hour waiting) the hostess came back and said after talking with their manager, that they STILL could not seat us together OR take our food orders in time before they closed. We had a great meal here, recommended by a local as we were visiting from Seattle. The blood orange margarita was tasty and the server was very prompt. The place smells amazing as soon as you walk in, and the food did not disappoint. We loved the brisket tacos and will be coming back for them the next time we are in town. Prices are extremely reasonable and you will leave full. We had a wonderful conversation with the GM who is working hard to ensure this new restaurant remains a staple of the community. So good! We had 6 different tacos. Flavor and quality was outstanding. $4 for a taco is pricey, but everything in walla walla is pricey. They do a discount when you buy three. Our waitress was very attentive and on point with service. Going back again tonight! read more
