This was my second time diving with them and my first time staying directly at their facility. As a solo diver, choosing to stay at the school was absolutely the right decision. *Fantastic Accommodations & Social Vibe* The space in Cedral is excellent. My room was great overall, featuring a very comfortable bed and awesome A/C. The kitchen was well-equipped, and having an in-room fridge/freezer was a welcome convenience. Beyond the room itself, I really enjoyed the social vibe in the downstairs common area. It was a wonderful place to make friends with both fellow divers and the instruction staff. The diving is great, and the people this business attracts are truly top-notch. *World-Class Team & Exceptional Service* The staff here truly make the experience stand out, and the site manager, Matt Pace, deserves a distinct note of appreciation. I first met Matt a couple of years ago when he instructed me and two of my children for our Open Water certification. When I reached out to him earlier this year to plan some summer fun dives, he was super responsive and helpful with all the early booking information. From the moment I arrived, Matt made me feel instantly welcome as a member of the dive family, showing me around and ensuring I had everything I needed. The exceptional service didn't stop there. After my first day of scheduled fun dives with Jackie, I decided on short notice to try and achieve my Advanced Open Water (AOW) certification in the time I had left. Despite the time constraints, Matt used serious accommodation and hustle to make the schedule work on extremely short notice. Thanks to his efforts, I got the bonus opportunity to learn from several other fantastic CDS instructors, including Buffy, Kyle, and Jordan. Furthermore, on Buffy's encouragement during my second day, I asked to switch from 80 cu ft tanks to larger 100 cu ft Nitrox tanks for my third day. Once again, Matt came through on short notice to make it happen. That exact change allowed me to get so much more out of my Deep and Drift dives. *Bottom Line* Not only is the diving great, but the community and team at Cozumel Dive School are incredible. We were especially grateful for Laurien, who took so much time investing in us as new instructors. Jimmy is also AMAZING, he prepared us so well for our instructor examination among so many other things, and he brings a great sense of humor and experience. And of course we can't forget Ken who poured experience and time into us as freshly minted instructors as well. Really, we are very appreciative off all of their staff, we felt everyone there was cheering us on! Their staff care deeply about the success of their students. We couldn't have done it without them! Along with their IDC program, we opted to stay several extra days to certify as instructors for several PADI specialties as well (MSDT), that was also time well spent. In total we were there for four weeks. From the moment we walked in the door we were welcomed and settled in. The class sizes were just right, four of us in this IDC, and the price was very reasonable. If anyone is looking for a top tier IDC program this is a good one. We hope to be back for more training in the future after we get some experience training new divers back home.

Other cheaper places only offered 30 minutes, but your safety is worth a few extra bucks. Lauren was my dive instructor, she was extremely knowledgeable and awsome to be around. I did a total of 5 dives with her, and she gave me memories that will last a lifetime. I opted to become Padi open water certified and with help of Lauren and other instructors at the facility the class move on effortlessly. This was a 10 star experience and you should not think twice about using this facility. We stayed at the Iberostar, which is not a dive resort, rather it is a resort which offers diving (what I mean by that is that the resort is not geared towards divers, there are no hooks or hangers to dry gear on your balcony, the restaurants allow people in bathing suits but not folded down wetsuits, there is no individual gear storage other than a small cubby and no provided locks). Anyway, on to the diving. Booking was very easy, I worked with a gal (who happened to be stationed in Spain) who helped me set up a package of dives, cenote excursions, and night dives. So everything was paid for when we arrived. Pros: - Almost all of the dive masters were awesome. Ricky was fantastic and so was Tania. We were always happy when we saw Ricky was our DM. He was the right amount of chill, knowledge, safety, and fun. -The dives were really fantastic. We only repeated one dive in 6 days of diving. - Water and fruit were available on the boat. -My husbands inflator hose malfunctioned and a guy in the dive shop fixed it for him with a spare part he had so my husband could use his equipment until we got home and get it serviced. -The boat staff were all very competent and helpful. -Free nitrox with your package. -Plentiful defogger on board -Short boat rides to amazing dive sites. Cons: - Before booking I asked if they had gear lockers. I hate toting all of our gear back and forth to a hotel room. I was told yes. When we arrived, we saw that there were not individual gear lockers, rather, small individual cubbies that would fit a few things but there were no locks. In additional, several of the cubbies didn't have chains on them to hold them secure even if you did have a lock. I asked if they had locks and they said they didn't. This meant we had to lug our gear back and forth to our hotel room and the dock, which sucked as the resort is expansive. I noticed not many people left there gear there. A few people hung up older wetsuits but I didnt see many BCDS in the room. - The gal checking us in was very aloof and not real friendly. I don't need butt kissing but she acted put out to be helping us and answering questions. - We didn't know where we were diving until we left on the boat. Even though they have a calendar of dives, they did not follow it (which I do understand if there are current or changing conditions, but everything seemed chill and there were no weather related issues). We were fine with the dives but if someone wanted to do a particular dive they might be disappointed with the scheduling. - The boats get crowded and more than once our tanks were not full and we had to swap them out for full tanks. One time it was 7 divers who were short on air in their tanks and several of us had to swap tanks 2-3 times. - They only book 2 tank dive packages so if you want to to break up your day of diving and don't want to do back to back dives, they charge you 10.00 per tank to break it up. We came to dive and dive we did, but if you are a diver who just likes one or two and have a big surface interval this system may not be the best for you. - On our last two dives we were placed in a group of brand new open water divers. I get it, we have all been there, but our dives were cut very short because of it (one dive ended at 39 minutes) which really sucked. The dm apologized to us privately but we weren't offered any discount or another dive to make up for it. -There is no retail dive shop to speak of, as far as gear to buy or incidentals you may need. No tshirts or any of the usual dive gear stuff us divers love to buy.

They arranged a refresher course and a discover Scuba lesson for my son so we could dive together and then a 2 tank dive at two coral reef locations. They were able to look me up in the computer and found my certification online and got me signed up right away so we were in the water the very next day. They lent us all equipment needed and the instruction was thorough and the instructor was kind and helped my son who was a first time scuba diver. It was a proud father son moment watching my boy check one off the bucket list to scuba dive for the first time and we got to scuba side by side. This is a solid dive center and the prices are reasonable. Can't get better than this in terms of location and convenience. 5 stars and a muchas gracias to the staff, instructor and crew.

Feeling pretty defeated after having dove with Phantom Divers. I've never experienced a bad dive…read moreuntil diving with them. I suppose it started when I arrived, and I was the only one not smoking at the dive shop. But what I truly didn't expect was to be the only person not smoking on the small boat of about six of us, including the DM who also smoked on board. As a non-smoker, it was a disgusting experience (and an intimidating experience on board with all of the gases). The DM certainly didn't care if I was bothered by the secondhand smoke. I didn't appreciate breathing in their smoke before a dive, nor did I appreciate the ashes/embers flying around and getting on me and my gear. I brought along all of my equipment with the exception of fins, which I rented. Rate off the bat, at the beginning of my dive, I had issues with the fins. They unhooked from my boots when I was maybe 30-40' down. The dive master insisted on grabbing them and re-hooking them to me. I could feel his distrust in me, making me question myself, even though I've done more difficult dives. I began to get anxiety as he seemed to babysit me. I got to a point where I started to have a panic attack, first time ever underwater. When I was through panicking, I advised the DM that I wanted to end my dive, as I was no longer comfortable. He did not let me. He forced me to continue the dive. What's that rule about not calling a dive if you're not comfortable? As a last note, when booking the dive, I asked if it was a boat dive, and I was told yes (I have a hip issue making shore dives difficult). It was actually a shore to boat dive, where you have to walk along rocks in the water with your gear to the boat. I had originally booked several dives, but after that experience I cancelled the remaining dives.

When we got to the diving spot Misra guided me down and helped calm me down and helped slow my breathing down. He was the best we could have asked for with a sense of humor too, he seriously was amazing and very helpful. The dive was beautiful and we already plan on coming back soon! The airline lost our luggage with all our gear, and Roberto went so far above and beyond to get us fitted in rentals, even bringing a whole selection of masks and fins on our next dive when ours weren't a perfect fit. During the dive, he was always pointing out interesting things that we would have missed on our own. Between dives, he took us to a sandbar to relax and have some snacks/drinks during our surface interval. We actually saw a huge ray while we were hanging out there.
