Absolutely terrible experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I spent almost an hour scheduling my appointments and was even asked for my weight, yet they still scheduled my MRI on a machine I didn't fit in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had to reschedule for the Palm Harbor location a week later. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I arrived, the front desk insisted I had the wrong date and time--until I showed them their own confirmation text and they suddenly realized they had double-booked the machine. No apology.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After the test they said the CD with my images would take 3-5 minutes. I waited over 15 minutes only to be told the employee went to lunch and probably forgot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Three days later my sister tried to pick it up (her name was already left there) and the staff refused to listen--even though the CD was literally sitting at the desk with her name on it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Completely disorganized and terrible customer service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I can only hope the technicians performing the scans are more competent than the front desk staff. I have never heard of Akumin prior to this horrible experience at the location on Armenia Ave in Tampa, Fl. I had an incidental finding on a CT scan and needed a MRI to determine the next steps. I was scheduled at my usual place but it's was almost a month out to be seen Due to increase symptoms and pain, I needed to find another place, so my insurance provider gave me the info for Akumin. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was able to get in the same day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After completing my MRI on 5/12/26, I was told by the technician it would take 24-48 hours for the results. A few days later I called and was told that at the latest it will be completed will be Friday 5/15.. I call on Friday and was told by a Rep an email will be sent to radiology department because my images have not been read and my provider will receive the report in a couple hours. I called three hours later and a new rep informed me it can take an additional 2-4 business days. [[HIGHLIGHT]]At this point I asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor, Mike, stated he could see an email was sent. He stated that because he's a supervisor, his "emails will hold more weight," and it takes about 30 minutes to read and send to the portal.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]2 hours later, I called back and spoke with Mike again to inform him I received a message in the portal stating that the report was not ready. He stated he didn't receive a reply t0 his email and will be sending a follow-up email.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] In the meantime, my symptoms are worsening, and I can't see a neurosurgeon until the report is sent. As a nurse, I'm disgusted by this company. I have never experienced this type of BS when it comes to radiology reports. The entire location on Armenia Ave in my opinion, I believe should be investigated for medical fraud and negligence. I will make it my mission to report this negligence and delay of care to every agency/boards they are affiliated with, notify my insurance company and leave a review to warn others to stay far away from this bottom feeder hole in the wall. read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Horrible customer service all around.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was quoted a self pay price, not once but twice, before arriving at my appointment. At my appt I was charged more than double what was quoted. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I spoke to manager she claimed this was a promotion that expired. I explained that was not relayed to me when I scheduled my appt, she said this was out of her hands and it would be a corporate decision[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. They wouldn't do the mammogram unless I paid that price and I had no choice but to pay it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called corporate as soon as this was done to inquire about what they can do and they said that's up to the manager on location. They are completely on point and highly professional. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I've had multiple MRIs and things done there, and they always been very upcoming and completely honest with their schedule and able to schedule when it was convenient for me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I recommend for anyone trying to get landlord or anything done. read more

This is the most unprofessional, inept group of medical staff I have ever encountered. No one wants to do their job and they mock patients and seem to enjoy their disservice to the community. [[HIGHLIGHT]]After making an appointment with them, they call the morning of to ask for imaging from my previous scans when they could have told me this upon booking.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] While difficult to do in such a short time, I did as they requested. After driving an hour to my appointment, they inform me that the person in charge of retrieving these results from a shared portal failed to do their job and wasn't available now to do so. The technician was not helpful at all and said that she was leaving at 3:30 and in no way would she do the imaging after 3:20 because she's going home. By 3:23, she's saying goodbye to the other employees leaning me standing there with no imaging. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Meanwhile, some of the other staff start mocking this situation in Spanish and giggling at my expense.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will never again give these people the time of day and recommend they find new jobs. I had to have an MRI for an upcoming procedure, and went to Akumin for it (Tampa location). I had worked with Akumin (Wesley Chapel) a couple of years ago on a different issue, and found them to be excellent. That excellence continues to be present here, both in the office staff and the technologist that did the MRI. Sady (Sadie?) was wonderful on going through my paperwork and making sure everything was correct. She made me feel very comfortable and welcome. The Technologist was careful to make me as comfortable as possible, and explained what was going to happen, before and during the procedure. Excellent care! I'm embarrassed for this place. Scheduled and confirmed for an appointment for an MRI and required to be there 30 minutes before appt. Only to sit in the waiting room area for nearly 3 hours before being seen. They obviously care more about taking there lunch break after after already making waiting the FIRST hour. Clearwater location. Beware. They couldn't make it any clearer that they couldn't care less. Not where you want to go to get important health work done. Went to this location several years ago when it was a different name...always decent service. Made an appointment for 1:20 pm same day, jumped through hoops to get there early to fill out any paperwork. Arrived just after 1, by 2 pm I reiterated I had a 1:20 appointment but I'd have to leave for another appt soon. 5 minutes to check on when my appt would be serviced....Another 15 minutes or so. Go sit in the waiting room and we'll call you.....some day. With that I left. Will never go back there again. Perhaps this happens so much the staff is jaded. i an appointment today at akumin,when the technician ask me to put my bag&keys down on this chair which i did.but you can't see the chair when you getting your x-rays done because there is a wall blocking your view from seeing your purse &keys.the technician is standing behind the wall where your items is place,when i left from there i went straight to amscot to get a $50.00 money order,when i open my purse to get my money i had only $30.00 i was shock very shock i could not believe he took $20.00 out of my purse,i had exactly 2$20.00 bills 1 $5.00 bill and $5 singles bills.i know money just don't up and walk out of anyone purse.he was the only one person standing behind the x-rays walls with the chair with my purse &keys laying in the chair.i couldn't believe it.but some people will steal and today october 2nd -2024 i encounter one,i been coming for a long time my husband and i,but as of today we will never use this buiness.again,because you have a theif doing your x-rays,that's so sad i believe in helping anybody but don't "steal" from me i'm very disappointed in this man and you know who you are you was dress in all "black".i don't recommend anyone who getting don't go there.a chair should be put where the patient can see there things not behind the wall with the technicial",god said thou shall not steal"remember that when you get stickly finger's again .you lost a loyal patient read more

As a two time breast cancer survivor I am extremely disappointed with Akumin and will NEVER go there again and I most strongly recommend you do not either. Case in Point: My two previous mammograms were performed at the St Petersburg facility at 3451 66 street N so I am a preexisting patient and they have my records on file. When I called Akumin to schedule my 2023 mammogram appointment and bone density test the man who did the scheduling was beyond incompetent. He constantly put me on hold to ask his manager what to do and gave me two different dates rather than having both procedures done on the same day. The front desk later told me this was totally unnecessary. I made it very clear to him that I was not a new patient and had been there before. On February 1 2023 I arrived at the office for my mammogram. The wyat the front desk asked if I brought my previous films. I said I did not and this caused great confusion and a loss of time. The problem stemmed from the fact that the idiot who scheduled me put me down as a new patient which I was not. After the mammogram was done I was told that it may take up to TWO WEEKS For me to get the results due to the new patient screwup. When you have been diagnosed with breast cancer twice it is extremely stressful to wait for mammogram results and to make me wait this long detox the incompetence of the scheduler is beyond cruel and uncaring. As of this writing I am still waiting to get the results of my mammogram. I can deal with stupidity but I cannot and will not tolerate medical professionals who are uncaring and heartless to cancer survivors. And neither should you. I have had a horrible experience with the Tampa and Largo Akumin offices. The first time they failed to tell me I need to have blood work before my appointment, so I rescheduled. The second time the machine was too small. I needed a Breast MRI that requires the breast to hang freely while on my stomach. My breast are large (the reason for the exam) and they could not put me and my free hanging breast in the machine. While I am not skinny, I am certainly not the largest person they have needed to do this with. In fact, the tech told me about 2/3 of the women who need this do not fit inside the machine. Now if this is an issue, shouldn't they say something before wasting the patients time? On my third attempt (this time at the Largo location) I was sent to a new office because they have "open MRIs" . I arrive, they take my money and I walk in to see the same machine as before. I then learn, " Oh no we don't have the wide opening MRI" They are now calling another office in St. Petersburg and I have to wait another 3-4 weeks to have my test done. I call that evening because they did not refund money to my HSA card and the manager Angela still has not called me as I was told she would. When I spoke to the call center person (FYI any number you dial goes into a call center. No one ever picks up if you ask to be put through to the location) the representative informed me that I had no appointment scheduled and that the St Petersburg 66th St location did not have the right kind of machine. They now want me to go to the Palm Harbor location (a hour drive from me). I have since called Angela the manager twice and she has not returned my call or money! I took off 3 times from work losing money I could have made. It has been an endless cluster with this company and no one seems to know or care. If a patient doesn't show up to an appointment they are charged a No Show fee. I think I should charge a fee to recoup my time and lost income due to the epic failure of this company! God forbid something is wrong and my test was delayed 3 months because of Akumin! read more
