Not many restaurants were open Sunday evening, but I was luck to find Al & Ledas. The food was very good, I had a meatball sandwich, my friend had the beef with sauce. Friendly service and fast as well. We ended up having to stay late since and the server and owner were very accommodating and understanding. They could have kicked me out to head home, but they patiently waited while we finished up. I will certainly visit them again the next time I'm in town. Check them out! read more

There are a lot of places in Dixon to get a pizza, but Al & Leda's is the BEST place in Dixon to get a pizza, or a sandwich, or some pasta. It's now carry-out only & the wait for your food may be longer than other places, but it's well worth the wait. read more

Al & Leda's has the best pizza in Dixon, IL. There are no good pizza places left with the exception of Al & Leda's unfortunately. The service is great for pick up. It is very hard to get them to answer the phone to place an order because they are so busy. They never re-opened the dining room after the pandemic. read more

Pizza here is OK- nothing great, not bad- For the area, it is the best you are going to do. I placed an order to go- 1 -16" vegetarian and 1 -16" pepperoni. The bill for the two pizza's was just over 40 bucks- which seemed kind of high, but we needed the pizza to feed 7 people, and it worked out. No one complained about the pizza, so I considered it a victory. The staff at Al and Leda's was great, and the pizza was ready when they said it would be, the place looked nice, but we took the order to go. read more

I never heard of spaghetti pizza before, and I've heard of a lot of pizzas. It was excellent. The texture of spaghetti works very well with an excellent "home-made" meat sauce and a thick mantle of melted cheese. The crust was overrun by a crunchy fringe that resembled fried cheese. Very gloppy, and a small size would easily serve two hungry appetites. The place is nothing less than boisterous, especially for a Monday night. I grew up on great pizza. Al and Leda's is the best in this area. I have been going to Al and Leda's since the 60's. Love the friendliness of the staff and the fast service. If there is a problem with getting your pizza in 25 minutes, you're informed ahead of time. I'll keep going back to Al and Leda's forever. Called in an order to go right as they opened, very pleasant and said 20/25 minutes. Said no problem we're sitting in the parking lot. Young lady said it should be ready quicker and she would call. I haven't had Pizza from here in a long time and it used to be really good. Ordered pizza for delivery and it was really cheap and I liked that except the pizza was nothing like it used to be. the reason to go here is for the italian cheeseburger - which is not really a cheeseburger at all. Its on a sub roll, which sausage patty on the bread, covered in sauce, mozzarella, peppers, lettuce and pickles. Very messy and very delicious. The pizza is good too, but I don't get there that often so have to have the cheeseburger first read more

The Al & Leda's Special is probably my favorite pizza in the area or maybe anywhere but Papa Del's in Champaign.

I dined at Al and Leda's with my family last night. We usually go for pizza sometime during the holidays each year. Last night was a little disappointing. Overall, the place is really starting to look rough. The pizza tasted good, but it took a long time to arrive. The bathrooms are very dirty and my brother sucked a piece of hot pepper through his iced tea straw. I think we'll try somewhere else next year. read more

This place has been here for decades, and it has very authentic tasting food. I like the Italian cheeseburger hey been eating these for many many years and they are still great. I prefer to take out for the fact that when eating inside I really don't enjoy looking at cobwebs while consuming food.this place needs a complete makeover. read more

Based on other reviews, I hope this was just an off night, despite it being a Friday evening. I'll try it again once I am past this visit's disappointment. Where to start? I phoned in a pick up order, and went to pick it up in the estimated 30 minutes. Upon arrival (about 35 minutes later), it was another 5-10 minutes before the lady manning the phone and register finally checked on me as I stood there. A customer picking up a pizza that had arrived before I did appeared to have had a similar wait. Once I finally got our food, I admit to being impressed with the large family-size bucket order of spaghetti (think 5-gallon ice cream container size) and large bag with 8 half-loaves of bread and our appetizers, so off I went to serve the family. Unfortunately, the impressive volume of food was the highlight of the evening. The bread was decent, though unremarkable. The appetizers (fried mushrooms, cauliflower, broccoli, and mozzarella, I believe) were nothing I'd laud, but did serve to be appetizing (no small feat, as you'll read). The highlight dish, however, the fresh Italian restaurant-style spaghetti with large meatballs was decidedly disappointing. The noodles were bland, and I would say clearly unsalted, possibly overcooked. Covering up the unfortunate pasta was the "sugo" meat sauce, which paired nicely with the noodles only because it was equally bland and unseasoned, lacking most any flavor much less that of meat or tomato. Finally, the piece de resistance, the four large meatballs, seemed undersized for something you would split with a family. However, it worked about because they were also bland, unseasoned, and a complete disappointment, so no one wanted them anyway. I can only hope and imagine that some poor sap, with little to no experience, was thrown into the kitchen and struggled to follow recipes written by the hand of an old Italian grandmother, unfortunately failing to translate the foreign words which surely must have read "salt to taste" or "season liberally." Then, there would be hope for the future. In the meantime, I can hope that the restaurant seriously evaluates its quality control, because had even 1 person taken the time to taste the sauce or sample a freshly cooked batch of meatballs or noodles, I think there is no way I'd have been served what I was. read more
