The level of unprofessionalism I witnessed today from the driver of the "pet bus" was overwhelming…read more The driver passed the huge line of people waiting to get onto the bridge and quickly and aggressively forced their way into the waiting traffic. Afterwards the driver displayed the middle finger. I hope that there wasn't a clients' pet in the van as the driver could have caused an accident and clearly was only looking out for themselves and not the other drivers on the road. If they treat their business like they drive, I would never trust them with a loving part of my family. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Our dog Minnie has been attending daycare 3x per week for about a year now, and I am so, so, so…read morehappy with everything about NPC! The pick-up and drop off service is really convenient, especially for families with busy schedules and/or young kids, like ours. Minnie always comes back from daycare happy and exhausted! We have also used NPC's boarding services for anywhere from 1 night to several weeks at a time. I have never once worried about her care or wellbeing while she is staying at NPC. The owners are incredibly kind, caring people who treat Minnie like she is their own dog. Absolutely no cold, lonely cages like most boarding places use. Instead, Minnie gets to be comfortable on the couch with her second family while we are away. NPC really treats all of their customers and their pets as family; I feel very lucky to have a service like theirs in the neighborhood! NPC has been an absolute godsend during busy or stressful times for my family (the birth of my son, or my cross-country travels due to my mom's cancer diagnosis) -- my dog receiving high quality, reliable care is a given, because we know that NPC is there to help.

But, most importantly, Cooper likes them. No cages are used which is a big deal for Cooper. He was a rescue from an Amish puppy mill where he spent the first 6 months of his life in a cage! That was more than enough, and I promised him no more cages! Before I found Kim, about 10 years ago, it took the groomers 3 hours AND, when I pushed my way into their grooming area, I saw cages upon cages filled with dogs. I think poor Cooper was terrified that he was back in a puppy mill. When I saw that, I understood why he wouldn't walk in on his own. I asked if he could join the Doggie Day Care until it was his time and they said no! I would have to pay for a full day's care! I was NOT happy! And that's when I accidentally drove by Shaggy Chic. It was a very happy accident! Kim and Pepper really care about the animals they groom, and it shows. Over the years word has spread, and right now they're not accepting new clients. My best friend was very happy that she became a client shortly before they had to stop accepting new clients. So, keep them in mind for the future. I, for one, intend to keep right on going every 6 weeks with Cooper, and whatever other pup(s) may come into my life. Thanks, Kim & Pepper, for the great job you have done all these years, and continue to do, for my Cooper!
