My family and my dogs love Ahead of the Pack! Hope and her family/staff are amazing. They have worked with my schedule when needs have changed. I do recommend not calling day you need to have grooming done as she is popular and fills up quickly. There is an area in the front you can peak through the windows and see the dogs. They all look to be having an amazing time. The dogs can mingle and have play time while waiting to be picked up. If you have any issue or needs you can let them know and they will keep separate. They will listen to what you would like done to your dog but also tell you if/why should not be done. They usually always match the bow and bandana to the season/holiday and take pictures of your pet. I and my pets are very happy here and I hope they continue to operate for years to come read more

So worth the drive down to Warwick neck to visit this lovely puppy parlor. My anxious aussie shepherd has gone here twice and come out looking beautifully bathed, trimmed and groomed. No cuts or nicks anywhere. The groomer here takes her time and truly loves her poochie pals. They are a bustle of business here so I most often get the answering machine when I call, but they are fantastic about calling back asap. The other plus? I can usually get in the same...or next day if I'm flexible with my availability. Not super cheap, but not super expensive. Around $ 50 for the "works"... bath, cut and groom. Only downside? CASH OR CHECK ONLY. Mildly inconvenient. Reiki treatments are an added bonus. Great time for the canine... and she comes out looking purdy. read more

I have been taking my dogs here for grooming a little over a year. My dogs both have short fur and very minimal grooming needs and my pups always leave smelling clean and fresh. One of my dogs is very temperamental about being handled for a nail trim but the staff has NEVER had an issue. My other dog is a very shy and anxious guy so I am always apprehensive about bringing him somewhere new. From the beginning, Karen (owner) has gone ABOVE AND BEYOND to ensure my guy feels comfortable at all times, including allowing him to hang out under her desk while she does paperwork. I can honestly say this is one of the best local businesses I have ever dealt with and by far has the friendliest staff overall. They all know myself and my pups by name, the prices are more than reasonable and I always receive a call back within a reasonable amount of time any time I have had to leave a message. I have also taken two of my foster dogs here to be groomed and can say that regardless of the size or fur texture of the dog, Karen and her staff always do an impeccable job and assure that the dogs are as happy as possible while waiting to be groomed or picked up. I am a fan of checks, myself, but I do understand why some people would prefer paying with a credit card. Took my two new pups here yesterday and (Auntie Karen) talked to my pups first and they both liked her so that was a big plus.They had baths,nails clipped,ears cleaned and a small trim around their feet,eyes and back sides,and got kerchiefs to wear home too.They both came home smelling wonderful and they were both so fluffy ...love how good they came out and we will be going back.Prices were more than resonable too. I had two older dogs that i use to take to petco,but they never seemed to have the same people their and i'm sorry i took them there,they never seemed happy to stay,and their prices were abit much. I've been taking my dog to Ahead of the Pack for approximately 3 years now. Karen is so sweet and loving to our pug Oscar. He is always so excited to visit and doesn't even look back as she brings him into the play room. What I love about this groomer is that they have a big playroom where all the dogs can interact but if the dog decides that they want to be left alone there are areas that they can be by themselves. I love pulling up into the parking lot and seeing the dogs sitting in the main bay window looking pretty. Even though I no longer live down the street from Ahead of the Pack I still take the drive to bring Oscar here because I know he's in good hands and all for a great price. Love Ahead of the Pack. We took our long hair dog, Bailey, there for years. He hated getting groomed but did great here. The owner treats the dogs like they are her own. We took Bailey in for one last groom towards the end so he would be comfortable. She cried. She knew it was going to be the last time she would see him. I'm crying typing this. She really cares and I feel good about leaving my family member with her. We are bringing Zoey to her today. I am sure she will come out smelling so fresh and so clean. read more

We have been taking our two Shih tzus to Karen for a few years, at first we were very satisfied. Karen is friendly and the dogs loved going to her. But in the past 18 months the service has definitly gone down hill. Each time our youngest dog came back she had been scratched or nicked somewhere. Yesterday after I picked them up, I noticed she was limping. I checked her back paws and found them red raw where she had been shaved too close. I had mentioned to Karen that this dog was having problems with her right front paw, but there was nothing wrong with her back paws. As I said in the beginning we were very pleased with Karen, but it seems her groomers are getting younger and I don't think they have the correct training. read more

I discovered this groomer when I lived in Warwick, and now that I live in Connecticut I still will only take my 3 Bernese Mountain Dogs to Ahead of the Pack. My dogs always look absolutely perfect, and they are usually done within 3 hours. Please note that my Berrners have thick coats, and they are very active. By the time I get them to the groomer, they are a mess. I truly believe the work there is flawless. And these women will go out of their way for you. Last year I had a puppy with a compromised immune system who couldn't be around other dogs, and these ladies went above and beyond to meet my puppys needs. I think their pricing is very fair, especially knowing the work that goes into cleaning up my crew. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. read more

Just wanted to say that for many years I was taking my precious dog to Seekonk to get groomed and I live in Warwick. I work in N Dartmouth and just couldn't fathom driving on a Saturday to Seekonk. I brought my goldendoodle here to be groomed my dogs fur had never been cut she had about four or five inches of fur I was very specific about how much length I wanted cut off my dogs fur I showed her with my fingers said only an inch she confirmed with me that only an inch was to be cut off when I picked her up three hours later the woman had cut off almost all of my dogs fur it looks like she pretty much shaved all my dogs beautiful fur off I told her I wasn't happy with what she did and she didn't seem to care at all all she said was "sorry" I was clearly upset that she did whatever she wanted and then she still made me pay the $65 for completely the opposite of what I asked for and then told me she really should have charged me $75 dollars I would not recommend this groomer to anyone I've never had a worse grooming experience DO NOT GO HERE if I didn't have to give at least one star rating I would give zero read more
