I saw their sales ad yesterday (May 16, 2026) and went there to shop for a refrigerator. I had first called with a question and talked with Aaron, a nice, professional young man. When I got there, Aaron was with another customer and referred me to Anthony Morrow, also a very nice salesman - he never pressured me, and gave direct answers to all my questions, and was so patient with me. He was professional, yet very comfortable. Later, after I'd made my purchase (new, in-the-box, sales price, no taxes), I ate a veggie burger outside (complements of the business, for sales day) and visited with young ladies gathered there - introductions all around. When I asked one young lady if she too worked there, another of the ladies said, "She owns the business!" (or maybe "one of the owners"). A Woman-Owned business - the crowning 'glory' for this company to which I'd already given an A+ (and the lotion in the large clean bathroom was same brand I use - it's the little things...!!). read more

We initially worked with another appliance dealer in the area, but due to poor communication, we decided to contact Alabama Appliance because they carried the Wolf and Sub-Zero products we were looking for. The sales process was smooth, and the team was responsive during the purchase, so we felt confident we had made the right choice. Unfortunately, our experience changed significantly on delivery day for the refrigerator. The installer was extremely rude and condescending throughout the process and immediately claimed that our custom cabinetry had been built incorrectly, despite being constructed according to Sub-Zero specifications. Fortunately, our cabinet contractor happened to be nearby and stopped by to assess the situation. He immediately recognized the installer and agreed to make adjustments to accommodate the installation. After the installer left, however, he mentioned that he had worked with this individual on several previous projects and that those experiences had also been difficult. A similar reaction came from our plumber. When I emphasized the importance of following the appliance specifications exactly because of our previous installation experience, he knew the installer and had his own concerns based on past interactions. We are still waiting for our range, which we understood would have a lengthy lead time. Last week, we were told the unit had shipped and was expected to arrive at the warehouse by September 2, and we were hopeful for a September 4 installation. After following up this week, we were then told that the range had actually shipped on September 4. The inconsistent communication has made it difficult to know what information is accurate and what to expect regarding scheduling. The combination of the installation experience and the lack of consistent communication has been disappointing. This is the first negative review I have ever left for any company, and you're welcome to check my review history. I don't take posting something like this lightly. It took more than 30 calls and seven weeks to receive our complete order from Alabama Appliance in Irondale, yet the installation we paid for still isn't finished. We ordered an Electrolux washer, gas dryer and two pedestals on July 23, 2026. Our salesperson Brenton repeatedly reminded us that choosing a gas dryer would delay delivery, but still told us to expect our order in about a week. The final item arrived on September 10, seven weeks later. To be clear, the call count is not an exaggeration. My phone's call log confirms 27 outgoing calls from me alone, with my wife's calls bringing the total above 30. Brenton never returned a call, never replied to an email and never notified us when our appliances arrived. The only incoming calls I received from the company were three calls from the delivery crews, not a single callback from anyone at the store. Brenton sounded annoyed whenever I did manage to reach him. Somehow my repeated requests to deal with someone else kept leading right back to him. The pricing wasn't right either. Brenton mentioned a $100 promotion for purchasing the pair, so I showed him Electrolux's advertised $300 national promotion for purchasing all four items. He held my phone and read it for himself, but then billed the order without that promotion and without ever telling me it didn't apply or that they wouldn't honor it. The invoice was emailed only after we left the store, and I never saw the final total before leaving. I even emailed Brenton afterward to get the pricing corrected and copied the store's general sales inbox but received no response from either. The first delivery finally happened on August 7, more than two weeks after we ordered. Getting that scheduled took our calls too because nobody had notified us that our appliances had arrived. The crew announced that one pedestal was missing as soon as they showed up but refused to retrieve it or have someone bring it over while they installed the other items. Despite that, they insisted I sign paperwork stating I had received everything and would not leave without my signature! When I pushed back, they assured me that the delivery photo would document the missing item. I called the store while standing there with the crew and was assured that they would handle the correction. Getting that corrected still fell on us. I kept hearing that they had "left a note for Brenton," as though another note to the same person who never returned my calls was going to resolve anything. I wasn't asking for another note; I was asking for the rest of the order we had already paid for. The missing pedestal wasn't delivered until September 10, another 34 days after that first delivery. They assigned an 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. window without first asking about our availability. We immediately explained that my wife had to leave at 12:30 to pick up our daughter, giving them 21 hours' notice of that hard window of unavailability. She waited until exactly 12:30 before leaving, but by the time the crew arrived a few minutes later there was no one home to let them in. I paid an additional $50 for premium installation specifically because of the pedestals, yet the final pedestal was left on my front porch for me to deal with. It belongs underneath the dryer! I wasn't willing to let them leave with it after everything it took to get it delivered, and they did not offer to return and install it. I cannot safely lift the dryer and install the pedestal myself, and having my wife help isn't an option while she is still recovering from recent childbirth. After seven weeks and more than 30 calls, I'm still figuring out how to finish the job I paid them extra to do. A customer should not have to become the project manager for a four-item appliance order. We weren't asking for special treatment, just the items we purchased, the installation we paid for and someone to actually return a phone call. We liked the showroom and had heard great things about Anthony and Rachel from friends. I wish I could say our experience reflected that, but this went well beyond one unresponsive salesperson. Brenton was our salesman, but Alabama Appliance took our money and was responsible for completing our order. The company had more than enough opportunities to step in instead of continuing to send us back to the same person who wasn't helping. I bought a Front Load FF7012WN - FF7 White Right-Hinged Front Load Washer with Pet Plus™ Sanitize Fast Cycle Times Dynamic Balancing "5-Year Warranty". Model: FF7012WN I bought this washer by one of the rudest sales people in any store I have ever experienced. The sales guy acted as if he was doing me a huge favor to show me the only front load Speed Queen washer. He lead me to believe it was the only front load Speed Queen that existed within the Speed Queen company. I was not informed that I only had 24 hrs to return it, which is an insane policy. It is the worst washer I have ever had. I did not realize until I used it the first time that the drum was quite small. I could no longer was quilts because it was so small. From the first wash until this day, it made more noise from any washer I have had before. And, the biggest problem of all with the washer is that it doesn't clean your clothes like it should. I tried to contact this store. No one ever answered the phone. Sometimes the voicemail worked. Other times it would not come on. No one EVER returned my calls. Returning customer, very disappointed. Our first experience at Alabama Appliance was excellent -- the salesperson was helpful, everything went smoothly, and we had no issues. Unfortunately, this second experience has been the complete opposite. If I could give zero stars for this visit, I would. We worked with Aaron, who was incredibly rude and unprofessional. His snarky attitude and lack of accountability were beyond frustrating. To make matters worse, the delivery was incomplete -- our $13,000 stove was delivered without the power cord and gas line, both of which were included in the purchase and clearly listed on our receipt. I have called multiple times, left messages, and even left a voicemail specifically asking Aaron to call me back -- no response. When I called again today, I overheard him tell the receptionist, "We can come back up there to pick it up or they can go buy the parts at their local store." For context, we live two hours away, one way, and paid for full delivery service, which included all necessary parts. Being told to now go purchase the missing items ourselves is unacceptable, especially after spending that kind of money. !!!!BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!! NEVER BUY FROM ALABAMA APPLIANCE in Irondale, AL. Here's some facts from our experience with a company who absolutely doesn't care: -Purchased over $20k in appliances in Nov 2023 and thousands more on a second purchase last year -purchased a third party warranty through Alabama appliance for each appliance with a company called Epic Protect -$7k stove was recalled less than 30 days after delivery and was never notified by Alabama Appliance or the manufacturer -stove stopped working at 1 year mark-epic protect denied the claim (still didn't know about the recall) -Alabama appliance refused to discount or help me in any way replacing the stove (it had been installed and used for over a year WITH A CONSUMER SAFETY RECALL FOR A CARBON MONOXIDE LEAK while using it with 3 kids (a newborn at home) -2 years after install, the refrigerator stopped functioning (5/24/25) -filed a claim with epic protect- denied 3 times -Alabama appliance sent a repair guy and determined it needed to be replaced and Aaron told me "Vick will be calling you to get it all figured out" but Vick never called in 6 days and I called daily for updates -I go in person to Alabama appliance on 6/5/25 and was told by Rebecca and Brendan that Alabama appliance wasn't helping me at all because it wasn't their problem and Aaron (salsa man) should never have tried to help me at all -I also reached out to the owner, Ben, with no response -Rebecca told 2 guys to "be on standby when I returned from the restroom so they could call the police if she had to ask me to lower my voice twice" And here we are, 3+ weeks later with no functioning refrigerator and no help from Alabama appliance or their crappy warranty I paid good money for. AND a new stove we had to buy to replace the other that Alabama appliance also refused to help with! This company is terrible to deal with. We purchased a new commercial stove and everything was bad, from the delivery and "Pro" installation to the lack of service afterward. Some person named Lisa stepped in to help us, came to our house for almost an hour and all she did was bad mouth the company, the sales rep, the installer and the owner. This place is exactly why you go with a local appliance store rather than Lowe's or Home Depot, they were so accommodating and helpful! They had a great selection and were so flexible and went out of their way to help me and my wife get a fridge quickly because we are expecting our first child. They are the epitome of great customer service I cannot recommend them enough, if you live in Birmingham you shouldn't even think about buying appliances from anyone else. My mother in law is re-doing her whole kitchen with them and has also had an incredible experience. Love this place! read more
