Awesome surf shop with upper level and many different great choices of beachwear, drinks, souvenirs, exc... I have to say nicer than the ones I've been to in Myrtle beach. Had a great experience here looking at all the many things they have for sale, and on top was given a free beach bag upon checkout. Not sure what all the Negative reviews are for, it's not that bad. read more

Great choices for a great price. Mostly friendly staff. No public restroom unless you find a nice worker. Be prepared to shop.

Really rude staff. Won't let you hold a skateboard unless you are buying. Will not go back. The store has buckets all over the floor for water leaks in the roof. Not great store appeal- and with rude staff- we were out. read more

We are locals, spent the day at the beach and stopped in to get a couple new suits and possibly a pair of costa's. We have never been in this store and usually don't go to the tourist places, we will never be back, I understand that everyone is short staffed and you need to be patient, but that doesn't give staff a pass on being nice, everyone was rude and put off at us asking fo simply directions to wear things were. We have been coming to Gulf Shores for the past 6 years and have always visited and shopped at Surf Style. This year was the worst customer service we have received from this store or any place here. The cashier acted like it was an inconvenience to wait on us and when an item rang up wrong she acted like it was our fault. The associate was rude with my wife. I am sure it is due to the lack of employees but a business should work with their people and appreciate each customer whether they spend .10 or $100 read more

Hours on the sign said 9 am to 10 pm and we pulled up at 9:40 and the clerk was standing at door. As we pulled in she locked the door. Called store and nobody answered. Would not recommend. Poor customer service. read more

I received a Columbia fishing shirt from my dad for my birthday. Wore it once and the threads started to pull out (no contact with any material that would cause it). I went to the store, explained my situation and was turned away because I didn't have a receipt. I tried to explain it was a gift, but instead I got told, "you need a manager for that." In a curt tone. The manager came over and said she couldn't help. That was that. Even though the shirt was clearly defective, that weren't willing to help. There products are cheap and service abhorrent. I will not be returning. read more

Will never spend another dime at any of the Surf Style stores. Spent at least $200 over the course of our week long vacation. My husband washed this tank top one time, dried on low. Letters are already peeling off. I brought my receipt back to this location 5 days later & was told they would not give me a refund because the item was washed. Store policy. I explained, the item was washed once and it is defective, the letters are peeling off. I understand the policy, which should apply if you simply don't like the item. But if the item is defective, then you should get a flipping refund!! Store manager told me I could take it up with corporate!! Are you kidding me? It's a $10 tank top and I'm showing her a receipt for $110 total store purchase. No offer of store credit, nothing! Ridiculous! Pictures below. There are at least 5 of these Surf Style shops within a 5 mile radius of Gulf Shores ripping off people daily. Save your $$$ and hit the Tanger Outlets. read more

I am giving Surf Style two stars, because I did enjoy walking around the store so much I went back for a second time. I was only in Gulf Shores for three days, so two visits to one store is a lot! Well I walked around the store for maybe an hour looking at shirts to bring home as gifts for my family. I was quite indecisive, but it was a nice store to wander. I can't say much for the staff, because no one every offered any help. I could have used some as it was hard to find some of the sizes. I guess the store was fairly busy for off season, so I will forgive the lack of help. I went back the second night to settle on some gifts. I got two shirts as gifts, then decided to pick up one for myself. I got a kick out of the Surf Style windbreakers, as I had one back in the 90s. I picked out one of those, and after much deliberation chose a purple long sleeve tee for myself. It was so super soft, I knew it was the one. It said Gulf Shores on the front, and Alabama down the sleeve. I went to several stores and this was the only shirt I really got excited for. I spent about $75 on shirts and postcards, etc. I got home to Connecticut and washed my tee shirt before wearing it. I washed it in cold water, and air dried it. I went to put it on for the first time and the Alabama down the sleeve was peeling off. The Gulf Shores on the front was wrinkled and looked about to peel also. I was super bummed, this was the only shirt I bought to remember the trip. I obviously couldn't return it. I tried contacting the store, but there are several locations and wasn't sure which one was the correct store. I tried reaching out to the Surf Style corporate office via email, in hopes they could direct me to the correct location or help me exchange the shirt. I just wanted a new one, and to let them know they may have a quality issue. I would have even paid the shipping. They never even got back to me. I waited a week or so, then reached out two more times for help, and was ignored then too. I ended up trying to fix the shirt myself, but only made it worse. The first time I wore it, the strap from my handbag rubbed on the front decal and wore it near though. Very disappointing outcome, and a lack of care from Surf Style corporate. read more

so if you buy an $8 necklace and it snaps you would figure you would possibly get a replacement that being you bought it the day before. i walked in the store with only the necklace and the workers were rude about me not having a receipt, so i went back to my car and checked my car then in my purse i found the tag to the necklace that said surf style that could have told i bought it there i believe, but they still denied it i later realized when i bought it i had immediately put it on so i didn't get a bag or receipt. they could have checked cameras and easily saw this.After telling them this they continued to throw their hands up and say no, it was not a good experience and i don't recommend going there. read more
