Owner obviously tells the employees to do the same because both the owner and the employees have the same agenda. It's a very uncomfortable shopping experience. The store owner really cares and you can see it. We are staying in a condo and flew in, so we don't have transportation. We decided to walk everywhere. When I relized I left my belt at home. We started the search to find one. I bet we checked every department type store we could find. There wasn't a belt to be found. They all said "People come here asking for belts all the time" I thought to myself. Maybe we should stock them? lol We finally found Maverick and they had some cool one size fits all leather belts. My wife ended up buying most of the souvenirs she had been looking for here. The place was very organized and had great inventory. I highly recommend checking them out over the Alvin's you see on every corner.

I loved her style as she was from Germany. I was told, she turn 60 and retired, closed shop December 2024. There is some local art, just not the same vibe as before. You need/want it...they have it; surf boards of all sizes and materials, skate boards sizes/materials/wheels, clothes, socks, padding...everything. The only thing that I could "use" was the delightful coffee bar in the back of the store. This alone is worth stopping in for. The quality of their coffees could put Starbucks to shape. They have comfortable seating were you can sit and watch the skate board people practice. This is truly a wonderful concept store! Best wishes and I hope to see you when we return to GS in 2019.

I couldn't decide on a sweatshirt, so I ended up with some stickers and a keychain for now (browsing the website as I write this haha). INCREDIBLE customer service!!!…read more This may sound a little crazy, but we have been to the area two years in a row and last year I saw this turtle stuffed animal that I loved but didn't get. I am a turtle fiend, and this specific turtle was made out of a material I really like and I had not seen one like him before. Of course, I regretted this decision for the whole year and when we came back, they still had it, and I, in my indecisiveness, did not get it (I wanted to think on it). On our second to last day, I went to get it and they were sold out. Heartbroken, I asked an associate if they had any in the back, and she said no. I was willing to let it go, but she said that she could ask the other store if they had one for me. After making multiple phone calls and texts, we found out that the other store (over an hour away!) had one (one as in ONE. there was ONE left) and someone there was making a trip down and turned around and grabbed it for me (so we didn't have to drive down there). She told me a time it would be there, and I got my turtle. All she had to say was "No, we don't have it, sorry," but she (and the driver from the other store) went way out of their way to make me happy. Definitely shopping here if we come back for a third time.

Because of this, I will probably never shop with this store again. There is another souvenir shop up the street that I will use. The other shop also supports local artists.

DISCRIMINATORY PRACTICES BY EMPLOYEES!…read more My husband and I have never felt more disrespected or discriminated against because of the way we look in a store than we did here. We were not greeted upon entrance into the store but instead looked at laughed at by a young man with blonde curly hair and a leg brace as well as a young blonde girl (both employees). We understand we are a bit larger and would not fit in the clothes here but my husband was wanting to purchase a hat here and maybe a sticker if there were any and I saw a dress that I thought was so beautiful. So disappointed and horrible experience all around. Only come here if you wear a size large or smaller or are okay with being laughed at for even entering a store.
