I met up with a girlfriend for hookah and chit chat at Aladdin Hookah bar. It's dark and cozy inside. The atmosphere is quiet but welcoming. There's no music but a soccer game was playing on the walled flat screen TVs. Aladdin doesn't serve food or booze but they do make fresh squeezed orange juice. The hookah stands are tall and the flavors are strong. I can't recall which tobacco my friend chose but we enjoyed it. Coal refills and coal heating are complimentary. There's a variety of coffee on the menu also. Aladdin is open 24hr. I may stop in on a super late night or early morning to see what the vibes are like then. Good stuff! read more

I don't ever hookah on Steinway but I guess there's a first time for everything. We initially went somewhere else that had a wait time and we wanted to sit somewhere with an outdoor back patio. We stopped by Aladdin and were seated right away. We ordered a Watermelon Mint Hookah (~$15) which took about 10 minutes for us to get! The flavor itself was fine. I don't have many complaints about the hookah itself. We did need to flag down the worker a couple times to rotate the coals, but otherwise the hookah hit for the hour or so that we were there. I was initially going to give it 4 stars but removed one because the outdoor back patio has so much potential and they kind of just threw together some tables and chairs. The TV/music was having technical issues (but before that, they did play good music!) and there was a tent over us which took away from the feeling of being outdoors. I get having that if it was raining but it was a nice, warm night. It definitely took away from the overall experience for me. If you're just here for to grab a hookah with a friend or to unwind, the hookah is pretty affordable and it's a fairly quiet spot! read more

Finally a hookah lounge where you can enjoy the music while still enjoying conversation with your friends. The music here is not very loud just enough to sing along to and hear the chatter of other customers while enjoying gossip with your friends. The shisha is pretty good and its price us the same as the competition. Like the other hookah spots they don't serve food but allow you to order or carry in. Decent drinks and good decor. The hookah bar is on Steinway street. There are tons of other hookah bars around so the competition is high. That however, makes no difference to the ownership. They are not customer friendly and definetly not welcoming. It's almost as if you're walking into a hostile environment. The hookah was okay but it was expensive. Stay away! Considering it's hard times right now, the staff treats you like shit. I kept ordering the same hookah every time I was there and got charged all the time different amount of money. The guy never shows you the receipt. Once I was brought the smoothie and they said it was on the house and my bill for $15 hookah and that smoothie (that I didn't even touch) was $40 plus tips. They don't change your charcoal, they do it only when you mention it. The staff only hangs out with their friends and totally ignore you. When they pay attention to you - they try to upscale. I understand everything, but I'm tired of being taken an advantage of at this establishment. Hookah is like in any possible spot on Steinway, service is much much much worse and they try to get as much money from you as possible. Be careful! read more

If I could give this place no stars I would. It was my cousin's birthday and we all been hanging out all night and wanted to go to a place were we could hanging more and chill. One person in the group recommended Aladdin. As soon as we got there we starting singing along to the song that was being played. Some employee caught an attitude and said if we don't be quiet he's kicking us out. They quickly switch the music so we could no longer vibe to it. We came to this place about a week ago and had a terrible experience. It was six of us, just wanted to hang out for a few before calling it a night. The person that greeted us refused to serve us 2 hookahs, he insisted that we bought 3. He was rude about it and got into an argument with one of our friends. Our bad experience wasn't about buying the 3rd hookah, it was about the how rude the person was about having to purchase a 3rd hookah and refusing to serve us; we had 3 ppl in our group that didn't smoke. We would have bought 10 hookahs for what it's worth, a little courtesy and service would go a long way in this place. read more

BEST HOOKAH in the astoria. The service is really good. Friendly staff members. Owner is also very nice, I had thought I left my AirPod at the line once and I contacted the owner and he was very proactive with communicating with me and the staff to try and look for it. Would recommend. read more

After years of being a loyal customer without ever disrespecting anyone the night shift worker decides i can no longer sit in the front but insisted if i wanted service i had to sit in the back. The place has gone down hill since the new owner came in. I go and depending on who is working i can get serviced or not?! Mohammed is super disrespectful and has a nasty attitude. Brought my girlfriend here. We were not seated nor greeted with a. Warm welcome. We took a seat on the outdoor patio portion of the lounge, mind you , their were only two small groups in the lounge itself. The owner or workers never came to check up on me or my girlfriend, nor ask what we wanted to order. I had to physically get up from the outdoor section and go inside to order a hookah and drink. Fast forward, 30 minutes go by and we never received our hookah or drink. I saw the gentlemen come outside to greet and talk with his friend and kept going back inside . Basically this place was a waste of my time and my girlfriends time . I would not recommend a place that does not even acknowledge your existence.so we walked out of the place after wasting about 40 minutes , great place if you ask me ! read more

This establishment has taken a turn for the worse upon new ownership. As a faithful customer for years prior, once the new ownership took place the disrespect began. Suddenly it was a pick and choose when and who they would like to serve. They will choose upon your arrival if they would like to have you, as if I am not a paying customer just as everyone else. The night worker is extremely disrespectful, and believes that he has the right to turn away paying customers, that have not done anything and may have been seated and served the day prior. Hookah is not worth your time nor energy, unless you want to wait for a refill of coal for 20+ minutes after having to ask for it in the first place. There is no warmth in the welcome you receive. All in all do not waist your time. What was once the most welcoming and joyous lounge on the block has become the least welcoming upon new ownership. 0 stars. read more
