Really chill and low-key hookah spot in Astoria. The service was really great, especially for a busy Saturday night. I had one of their smoothies, which was delicious. The hookah was great and lasted a while before having to get new coals. Deducting one star only because they don't serve alcohol and they're not BYOB. Other than that, everything was great. read more

Good shisha and fresh drinks can be found here. They have an outdoor seating area too so you can enjoy the fresh air while sip on your beverage. Their coffee is also very good here: strong and sweetened exactly to your liking. They don't serve food but you are allowed to bring it in or order it to your table from a restaurant. The staff is friendly and the bathrooms are clean. They play good music but it can get really loud, especially when groups cookbut on and sing along to the music. Stopped by with my friends and pretty spacious. We got the skittles flavor hookah. Yelp check-in free soda or hot beverages so my bestie ordered a latte. I ordered a peach soda and my other friend got watermelon smoothie. Cash only and no alcohol which I just find it strange. read more

The employees here go above and beyond to provide you with a great level of service. I say this because I felt as though our flavor wasn't what we ordered and they made sure we got what we wanted. They even sent a pot of tea for my group on the house which was super sweet. They're also very diligent about giving you coal and you never have to ask for it. Plus they have games! read more

Hookah is always great and the price is very reasonable. With a variety of different flavors. No alcohol but they do have other none alcohol drinks you can order. Outdoor area is nice to relax and unwind on a weekday or weekend. read more

Yesterday we were there to celebrate our friend's birthday. Considering my friends are Muslim this atmosphere reminded of their country's lounges. I didn't count what we paid for but the bill was so affordable for all of those things we ordered and time we stayed. Customer service and especially hookah were fantastic. Definitely will visit again. read more

I liked it here. Tried the orange cream hookah with a coworker. It's pretty cheap at 10.99. The Turkish tea was hot and in a clear glass cup. It was pretty quiet when we came. I'll be back again soon. read more

Went there on a Saturday night and it was busy but all of our hookahs were great. The music wasn't too loud so you can hear and talk to whoever you go with. The hookahs also were fairly priced. The only thing is they only take cash which is still an odd concept to me in this day and age. read more

The service here is excellent. The hookah is also excellent. After reading Yelp reviews for Taj Mahal, I checked this place out with a friend. It did not disappoint and Yelpers really nailed this one. The menu is typical, but the service is the difference. It may look like every other hookah shop on Steinway, but I would rather come to Taj Mahal Lounge over all the rest. The tea is good, the hookah was on point, and you will never run out of coals. Have fun! read more

They serve Moroccan tea here. It was fresh. I loved how they played different kinds of music to please the crowd. They have cards checkers and chess along with hookah. Nice and calm kind of vibe. They have a back patio as well that lights up and has a tent over it. Will be back read more

Came here with my fiancée for the first time in little Egypt to watch a soccer game for the African cup! Thankfully we decided to arrive 1 hour before the game because literally the place got so full that they had to add chairs in the middle of the aisle! This is a small joint but I love their decor and the service of the employees, full of energy, funny and how fast they are! Make sure to either eat before coming here or Bring food with you since they only thing on their menu is hooka, hot teas and fresh fruit smoothies which all seems so delicious and were freshly made. Prizes are reasonable and overall a nice place to enjoy some relaxing time smoking good hooka or watch a soccer game like We did! I will definitely be coming back! read more

It was one of the best hookah place. I used to go there almost every night. But I don't go there anymore. There is a guy name Osama who works there. He is one of the stupid dude i have ever seen. He treats the customers like beggar.He ignores the customer after serving the hookah. Never let customers to stay there more than an hour. He has so disrespect for customers. read more

I wish this spot had alcohol. I would never need to go to any other Hookah spot on Steinway. After going to other spots, the service and prices here are the best I've seen. Employees are constantly changing your coals and making sure your Hookah is good. Atmosphere definitely has a middle eastern-y lounge feel to it. Music is good and the seating areas are way more comfortable than other spots. They have a variety of flavors, teas and smoothies. This place is also cash only so don't go there with nothing in your pockets. After trying other so-so Hookah spots in the area, I will definitely be returning here. read more

Taj Mahal Lounge was our saving grace on a rainy and cold day. Customer service was great and staff were friendly. The owner opened the door for us and welcomed us inside. Hookah was good and staff was attentive to change coals as needed. Coffees and teas are well done. Comfortable seating. Space to watch sport events and meet up with friends. Great place to come and relax at. The shisha is great! The staff is attentive and very friendly, makes you feel at home. You never have to call for service. Hookah was great! Nice Ice hoses if you ask for it. Spacious outside, and were accommodating for how many people we had. The major downside was the service; which is usually relatively poor in places like this. In any case, they had Sahlab (custardy dessert) which was delicious, and some decent Turkish coffee. But you had to track down waiters for assistance every time...or to order things. Not cool...I think though that you can also byof...bring your own food! read more

I had been loving the boss's other hookah place but when I heard they opened up the new hookah lounge I was for sure gonna go for support. It turned out to be a very beautiful modernized hookah place for all ages (18+) to enjoy instead of just elders. Their service great and all the workers remember you if you're a frequent visitor and remembers what you like!! Also can't forget about the price, a premium hookah (fumari) is just $18 where other places would charge $25 and up. Their basic flavors are as good as premium which is a bonus!! Workers are so rude. We come here often with food and when we finish our food we usually pack the food up nicely in a bag and leave it on the table or under the table and the workers come around and pick it up for us. There has never been a problem with that. The other day we left our food packed nicely on the floor and as we were leaving the worker grabbed my friends arm violently in front of everyone and cursed at him to pick the food up. There are other ways to approach the situation. A person should never touch a customer or curse at him. Their customer service is so trash. Go to a different hookah lounge. read more

Wow! This hookah lounge is one of the best ones in Steinway. From the staff to the drinks and the most important part the hookah. I have not been to a hookah lounge where the staff is so caring, attentive and pleasant. You walk into an environment where you are welcomed by not just one staff but multiple staff. I was there for a short trip in NY and I went to a few lounges but this one I went 2 nights in a row. The place is clean, the drinks are amazing! Let's not forget that the hookah is on point, they change coals about every 25-30 mins to make sure you get the best smoke. The servers check on you but they make sure they are not bothering you. I recommend this place for everyone in NY and everyone that visits NY. I have found my spot in NY and I can't wait till I go back and visit! read more

The situation became extremely aggressive and violent, and I genuinely feared for my safety. This was especially upsetting because the establishment presents itself as a space where Muslims are welcome and safe. The behavior I experienced directly contradicted that message. The night staff appeared completely unhinged, and the level of hostility was alarming. Because I felt my life was in danger, I had no choice but to call the police. This is not an exaggeration. I strongly advise others to avoid this place.

The bartender was really helpful and kind, and we liked it so much that after dinner with friends and family, we all came back to have another drink! Great beer, great people, and we were accidentally there for the end of trivia night and that looked way fun.

Hookah is superb. Never have to ask for coal when I am here they refill every 5 minutes. Hookah is super clean and their smoothies are awesome. Place does not offer food but you can get it delivered here and eat here as well. All the hookah places have to learn from this place this is the proper way to run a hookah lounge. My only issue is the music if they could just turn it down a bit that would be awesome read more

(But they do have an ATM if you do happen to forget to listen to my review lol) Most importantly you don't have to keep flagging down the employees to ask to exchange the coal for your hookah. (And they don't charge for coal refills). God, I can't tell you how much of a difference that makes in your hookah experience!! They always make their rounds to every table to exchange coals before you can even notice that you need it. Make sure to order your hookah with an "ICE PACK"!! It makes all the difference!! That cool fresh hookah is not harsh on your throat and you can go on smoking it for a long period of time. The pull is much smoother too, just trust me on this one, you will thank me later ;) You won't regret coming to experience this hookah spot even if you have to go out of your way to get there.
