Came to Alameda Hospital for my partner to get some labs drawn, and everything went smoothly. The staff were friendly and professional throughout. The phlebotomist had no problems finding the vein. My partner also needed to get an EKG, but unfortunately the department had already closed for the day. What really stood out was how kind and proactive the lab registration staff member was--she went out of her way to call around to other nearby hospitals to see if they could do the EKG. She spent several minutes trying to help us, and it was genuinely appreciated. In the end, we had to go through the emergency room to get the EKG done. The ER waiting room is small but seemed adequate for a hospital of this size. There was a large TV playing sports and natural light coming through open windows, making the space feel more pleasant. Facilities are a bit on the older side but clean. There's also visible security both in the main hospital and the ER, which made us feel safe. The surrounding area felt safe as well, and there was plenty of parking right outside. The nurses, EKG technician, and doctor we interacted with were all friendly and helpful. Overall, we had a positive experience and would recommend Alameda Hospital for labs or emergency care needs.

I guess everyone's experience here is different and I'm glad mine was pleasant I came here for rib and back pain and was diagnosed with Gallstones:/. First off I want to thank the ER Team for their quick and efficient assistance assessing me and Dr.Kim he was very knowledgeable the staff was extremely professional thank you for correctly diagnosing my symptoms because my clinic did not, I also want to thank the Tele Unit for all the care they provided while admitted on their floor especially Nurse Leslie, Nurse Jessica, Nurse Arleen and CNA Rosio they were all very accommodating, my meds were given timely and I was always checked on and I appreciate that they were catering and patient with my needs and they were all professional and knowledgeable of explaining my medication step by step. I also want to thank Dr. Moi and Dr. Mendoza for explaining the risks and benefits of my procedure they were both thorough and the team for my successful surgery! if I missed anyone sorry I was highly medicated. I want to thank the Med Surg Unit 3rd west wing as well to the nurses and staff like Mercedita Moses CNA that helped me recover thank you! Special shout out to Case Manager Mary Jane for answering all my billing questions and advice she was extremely knowledgeable and kind like the team at Alameda Hospital I'm truly grateful to you all. I would come back again for any surgical or emergency needs.

Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, Oakland…read more This review is for the 3rd floor, Surgery Intake. Upon checking in, I was called in pretty quickly and was seen right away. The care I've received was phenomenal! The first nurse who registered me in was super supportive. I didn't get her name but she was a G.I nurse prior and a nurse for 20 years, she wore all red, has short hair with cute glasses! She was very informative, helpful and direct. It was a great experience! There were many staff who also help me to relax about the whole procedure. I honestly don't remember the surgery but remember the after care. The staff who cared for me were Chris, Gia and Senora/ Cinora. Chris made sure I was awake and aware when the anesthesia wore off before sending me to the recovery room where I met nurse Gia. Nurse Gia helped me with understanding the after care instructions, made sure I was well and okay to leave. It was cool to get to know her as well, we have very similar birthdays and I think that was cool! Senora/ Cinora was very kind and sweet. Overall, I had a great experience with 3rd floor- Surgery Intake and would highly recommend them to other people. Thanks to all the medical staffs and doctors also!

Every staff and nurse we've met so far has been helpful and friendly, especially in taking care of my elder parents. So far no issues. The inside and getting to the medical office is like a maze though. Haha You can easily get lost like I did. The parking is an issue for me as you have a garage parking but can only be validated for a few hours for free and then you pay. It's expensive. There is also valet but that is expensive. Why do we have to pay parking for patients? Your appointment is never under two hours; you would be lucky if it was. The street parking is the cheapest and so far I have been lucky in finding one close especially, for my parents. All in all, I appreciate the staff here in trying to help us the best they can. Dr. Ruhle and Dr. Miller are not only outstanding surgeons, but they also genuinely care for their patients in a way that goes far beyond medicine. It truly made my day when Nick Wiseman checked in the very next day after surgery to see how I was doing. The three of them will always hold a special place in my heart. Stanford Health Care made my medical crisis infinitely worse…read more Here's what happened: · A nurse practitioner refused to give me a treatment plan. She insisted on waiting for a six months for an experimental exam, while I was actively declining after a year of untreated illness. · When I refused to wait and asked for qualified care, she retaliated. She dismissed my condition, told me to seek different employment, and demanded I return to work with no treatment or diagnosis. · She ordered repeated blood tests to "prove malnutrition"; even though I'd told her I couldn't eat for over two years. Nonsensical, wasteful, and cruel. · I complained. Stanford acknowledged it and promised an internal investigation, including reviewing the fees. Instead of resolving anything, they sent my bill to collections without notice, without decision, while I was still in distress and waiting for a status update. · My credit was damaged. I couldn't access funds for care. I eventually disengaged from Stanford out of fear and cumulative abuse. Result: Worsening organ damage, multiple ER visits, psychological trauma, loss of employment, permanent impairment. I've had to pay for costly alternative treatments out of pocket. If you have a complex or chronic condition, do not trust Stanford Health Care. They punish patients for advocating for themselves. Date of experience: December 2024 - April 2025

The lot is also just one big spiral upwards, so there is always traffic passing in either direction, so you don't feel alone or isolated. The spots themselves are a bit tight together, so it's always questionable if you'll find a new ding on the side of your car. And the turn lanes are also tight so it may be difficult for two cars in opposite directions to make a turn into the same corner at the same time. There are also no pedestrian lanes so you're essentially walking in the middle of car lanes when traveling to/from your vehicle. So be wary of speeding cars that are taking the turns too quickly. Parking rates are very reasonable here at $3/hr, and increasing up to only $9 for 6hrs. Full day parking is also available at a max rate of $18.

Although, the equipment and facility is dated, the service and nurses were compassionate and attentive. We were triaged from a nice big waiting room. Then once triaged, moved to another waiting room that was darker and tvs were not on so it was very bleak esp for children to be in there. We were met with a resident dr? who lacked some confidence and continued to say that she'll double check with the dr. Eventually, the dr came in to evaluate our baby and ultimately recommended zofran, feed her, then wait for about 30 min to see if the vomiting subsides. Overall, they took their time and addressed every concern. Perhaps our baby was at the tail end of whatever she had, but after this visit, she was getting better. No matter what insurance you have, I would definitely recommend going to a childrens hospital to get specialized treatment for your LO. Kaiser was not it. I have Kaiser insurance and was charged a $100 copay from their ED. We didn't have to pay anything leaving Childrens Hospital (maybe I'll get that bill later), but it's one less thing to worry about when dealing with a sick child.
