I heard the pool has swim lessons. We just enjoyed the splash pad and playground. I love that I could sit at one table and see both of the play areas so my older kid could run back and forth from playground to splash pad. There was shade, lots of grass, restrooms, and plenty of parking.

There was fecal matter on the toilet and it smelled horrendous inside the bathrooms. Plus there's very little lighting in there making it really hard for a small child to use.

We luckies arrived at 10:55-just in time for the hourly spray! The geyser erupted for about ten minutes--sulphuric smells, oh my--but was neat, with little viewing niches off the walkway. If you get a space here, you too may get sulphuric mist getting on you. Yes, the sidewalk is a bit wet from those eruptions, and minerals crust the walkways and eruption area. So pull over in this unique spot. The cemetery behind the park was unaffected but the eruption. For the living there are public bathrooms on the way out of the park in case that ten-minute water spray inspires the need.

We came at the perfect time, late in the day in September when the park had emptied out and the weather was cooler. It was almost like a ghost town. There are lots of paths to walk, and I think this place would even be great for someone in a wheelchair since the paths were so nice and smooth. The welcome ranger was a doll and the gift shop was decent. I do wish they had a little movie screening room that shared some history about the place. That would have made the visit even better!! Bathrooms were nice and clean.

Stopped by here when we were driving by to check out this National Monument. They have a small…read morevisitor center and gift store that was open for off season hours and part of the driving loop was closed for the season, but we were still able to experience part of the park.
