You'll go out to the ground level, and then next door is a taco place then the Alamo (6 second walk). Your online ticket includes your Theatre #, row, and seat #s Seats recline all the way back, with a moveable table to eat/drink Our hostess introduced himself and asked if it was our first time, and explained how to order ahead of the movie and then during. Order at least 20 minutes before the start of the movie via phone. It takes you to a website after you scan your seat #. Where you place your order, see your balance and add items If during the show, you fill out a piece of paper of what you want, and hit a button on the table to let your server know you have an order seats were comfortable, reclined all the way or sit up all the way. This doesn't interfere with the people in front of you audio sounds were good. screen was clear. Spent a total of $78 for food (for 3 people). Boneless wings meal was good. 25th July 2026 Crystal City Arlington, VA Whilst attending our conference in Crystal City Arlington VA, we took Saturday afternoon break to go see the Christopher Nolan film, the ODYSSEY with a totally ripped Matt Damon (55) starring in the role of Odysseus on his treacherous journey home to Ithaca. Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Crystal City is a 49,000 sq foot, 9 screen modern cinema, with the luxury of food and drink service at your reclining plush leather seat. To place your food order, use the QR code for the menu, make your choices and press the convenient built-in server call button to summon the server to take care of your order preference. For food, I prefer to stick to plain popcorn to consume in the dark, anything else would be distracting. A big plus is their enforced strict policy against talking or texting during films. I wish more cinemas would have the same warning given at the start of every film. The Alamo Drafthouse has a premium auditorium featuring an enormous 66 foot wide screen laser projection with immersive Dolby Atmos 52 speaker surround sound which really packs a punch. Bbq chicken pizza was fine. The crust was a bit hard. Strawberry milkshake was divine and refreshing. I liked that you could eliminate items that you didnt want on your pizza. We also tried the Sweet and Cheesy popcorn which consisted of Buffalo white cheddar and caramel. There was barely any caramel popcorn. I think i had a total of three kernels of the caramel. The entirety of the bowl was the cheese flavored which had so much of the pepper that I could not stop sneezing! No food has ever made me sneeze when it was being chewed. We really didn't like it and asked for the Bottomless butter popcorn which was classic. Totally disappointed that the food arrived one hour after we placed the order. What can I say about Alamo Drafthouse that hasn't already been said? It's a great theatre chain! One of the reasons I was most excited to move to Arlington was to be in proximity to not one but two Alamo Drafthouses -- one of which was in Pentagon City! It's right by a metro stop but normally I drive to the theatre since parking is validated by the theatre. If you're arriving at the theatre early and you wanna kill some time, depending on what day you go they do Trivia at the bar which is great! Everytime I'm at a Alamo Drafthouse I feel like a VIP. The food is great especially the milkshakes -- never in my life did I think a movie theatre milkshake was great but here we are! The interior is extremely clean and the entire business looks and feels like an upscale movie theatre. You truly get a great cinematic experience when you come to the Alamo Drafthouse. read more

This used to be one of my favorite theaters to attend on a Tuesday for BFD. However, there are lots of changes that have made this NOT what it used to be. The menu has changed a bit and now they make you use the app for your bill! With this you can not control your tip and service is not necessarily deserving of 18% of the bill. I may never come back to an Alamo theater again for these new practices. I see how it benefits the business-a streamlined menu with a streamlined process but once again the customer is the one taking the hit. It's been real ALAMO! my waiter this recent time was bad. he asked me if I had been here before and I politely and clearly told him that I had. He then proceeded to stand over me and continued to talk to me until I acknowledged him about everything he said. I ordered several items and he would practically throw it down in front of me when he delivered it. I was missing sides that I already ordered using the QR code and was already added to my bill. I had to ask and remind my waiter several time and he said it was coming but it took so long for someone that was easy to prep. He also added the side to my bill additional again so I had to pay twice for it when it was missing and I only received one. Tip for bad service is mandatory and already included in the bill. This location is bad, I will only just be going to the Alamo DC location. read more

We ate before we came, as the food is just okay. We just ordered two diet cokes and it came out to $19. We came to see the odyssey. Loved the movie, sound was great, theater is clean, and love the recliner chairs. Staff were great too. Movie ticket prices are comparable but drink and food prices are super high. read more

So this is my local theater. I go here weekly and it's usually always an enjoyable experience. I've rarely had problems here. The seats are really soft, so if I know a movie is gonna be LONG, I come here. The waiters and front desk are usually very nice and attentive (unless it's a sold out film and they're running around trying to get everyone). The food options here are pretty good! Don't expect Gordon Ramsay food, but it's better food than what you'd get at AMC. I do love how every Alamo is decorated in the fashion of their area. Because we're near DCA, our theater is an airport theme. It's really cute. I do have two qualms: Sometimes they turn off the escalators and if you're handicapped like me, there's no way to get up to the next level. They don't usually like customers using the elevators, but what can you do? Also they have big talk about kicking people out in their phones, but when you complain about someone, the waiters are too afraid to do anything. I saw The Apartment here and there was a guy literally talking on the phone. Three other customers complained about the guy and the waiters did nothing. I had to go over and yell at the guy myself. My BEST TIP for you: if you're hungry and want your food and drinks fast, get to your showtime 15 mins early. You'll have your stuff before the movie starts. If you come on time, you won't see any of that food until the 30 mins into the movie. read more

Overall a good experience at a clean and unique theater, but there's a learning curve that first timers should know about going in. The layout isn't intuitive. Theater 1 isn't clearly labeled and you just have to know it's the large main room. The ordering system also takes some getting used to. You start with a QR code but at a certain point it cuts off and you have to handwrite your order on a paper slip and press a button to call your server. In a very dark theater that's not practical, and there's no confirmation that the button was actually pressed. Service was inconsistent. We ordered bottomless popcorn and M&Ms. The M&Ms arrived after about 15 minutes but I had to remind them about the popcorn, which didn't come until nearly 45 minutes into the movie. We skipped ordering real food because we weren't confident it would arrive in time to enjoy during the film. That said, the chairs are comfortable, the staff is friendly, and the pricing is noticeably better than other dine-in theaters in the DMV. It has real potential. Just go in knowing it rewards regulars more than first timers. read more

Been here a few times and not really that impressed. I prefer Paragon in Falls Church but the big draw for me is that I can walk here (about a half hour walk each way for me) and not have to drive anywhere. I do like that they normally play themed clips before the movie. I saw Coyote Vs Acme tonight and they played cartoons leading up to the movie. They played martial arts clips when I saw The Furious last time too. But the constant rules and explanations of everything is a huge annoyance, I just want to enjoy the damn movie! And tonight I tried to use a saved card in the app but didn't have it on me and couldn't remember the CVC number so I had to use my other card. $20 for a drink and a default 18% tip -- yikes. It's kind of dirty in the bathroom too. It is nice to have a bar there though and the movie theater posters are a cool effect. I also like the themed movies like Spaceballs and Monty Python. It's nice that it's so close to my home, just wish it was better! read more

Had an amazing time at their Happy Hour after a long day of work; they allowed us to bring our unfinished glass into the movie theatres. My friends and I watched Wicked: For Good and of course it was amazing. The reclining chairs were, of course, amazing. They offer seat side service, with a call button when you need your server to come by. My friends and I ordered buttered popcorn which was UNLIMITED; so yes, that too, was amazing. The only downside is their parking garage is very confusing and nothing is labelled. I somehow ended up walking out of the garage at Whole Foods and had to walk half a block over to the Cinema. After the movie, I tried walking back the way I came and all the doors there were locked. Luckily the hotel next door allowed me to use their elevators to get to the garage but I had no idea where I was! Really awesome location with a respectable restaurant. Many of these places only serve slightly elevated theatre food; here, we got an amazing Caesar salad, a Beyond burger that my husband stated sad very well done and had a good level of fixings- but Beyond is bland so if they seasoned it, that would be even better (7/10- the fries added a point), and I got a hot dog. Don't judge me!!! They post the calories on the menu and I just couldn't lol. It was a darn good half smoke (8/10 cuz the bun was basic and a little cold lol) and while I couldn't finish it, I definitely ate the Caesar which was crisp and had the perfect amount of dressing. 9/10 The movie theatre popcorns are bottomless, though you probably won't take advantage of that as they give you so much. We tried the churro and the truffle parm. I love truffle oil and everything truffle but it was a disappointment. It didn't taste like truffle at all, was cold, and the flavor of Parmesan popcorn did not have the level of salt or umami that we were going for 4/10. The churro was awesome. Not too sweet, still the perfect amount of saltiness and lots of cinnamon crunch bits evenly disbursed to make the experience very churro/like 7/10 - only because there were so many seeds!!! Otherwise it would be a 9/10. The service was prompt and efficient both in the restaurant and in the theatre. 10/10. This place is great for date nights and we will be back. read more

I enjoy having an Alamo Drafthouse nearby - you could also look into their different tiered memberships if you tend to be a more avid movie-goer. We came here for a screening for one of our favorites, and it didn't disappoint - the sound system was pretty good, and the chairs were comfortable. They do have a menu, including various seasoned popcorn, apps, salads, wraps, hot dogs, burgers, wings, pizza, desserts, and drinks. There's a button located on your swing table, attached to your chair, to call for service - an individual assigned to your section will come to take your order on their tablet - for any additional orders or refills, you'll just to the same process, throughout your moving watching experience. We tried the Truffle Parm and the Spicy Ranch popcorn, and while the Truffle Parm was not edible for us, the Spicy Ranch sort of made up for it - you could also ask for extra clarified butter, if that's your thing. Note that the popcorn comes in a large stainless 'mixing' bowl, which is more than enough for 2 people; I just wished it came out warm. The drink orders do take a while, which was a bit weird - there was quite some lag to it, and we had to wave down other runners to see if they forgot our orders... The Alamo Drafthouse seems to have a hard rule for no talking and use of cellphone, with the consequence of being kicked out after a warning - however, there were people who were having side conversations, and you'll hear other movie attendees putting their orders in throughout the movie. Best movie theater in the DMV! So we had tix for a 12pm Saturday show. But, our vet was running behind and we wound up running late. No problem! Called the team and the "First Responders" moved us back to the 2pm show. What awesome service. Most movie theaters just want your money. These guys earn your loyalty. The seats are big and comfy and recline. They enforce no phones no talking so it's quiet and dark. The chicken fingers really are hand breaded. The fried cheese sticks are tasty. The wings are great. I had the Lemon Pepper Dry Rub. Crispy, and perfectly cooked. No fat or gristle. Spectacular. For dessert I had the banana pudding cup. Tasty and just the right size. If you've fallen out of love with the movies, maybe it's your theater. Try Alamo! read more

What a great way to see the movies! Along Crystal Drive surrounded by many restaurants and shops, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema focuses on the customer. Walk inside and find a fancier movie theater with comfortable large seats that recline. On top of that, you can order food and drinks from a diverse menu throughout the movie. I enjoyed a hard cider, pizza, and warm chocolate chip cookies with milk as I watched Zootopia 2 with my wife and eight-year-old daughter. When you buy your tickets, you pick your seat too! The bottom line: solid 4 stars for super comfy seats, good movie screens/sound, and descent food and drink. The servers are also usually friendly and avoid distracting from the movie. The higher price (get the Costco gift cards if you can) and hit or miss foods are the primary down sides. That said, there's usually a pretty good selection of beer (including local), the soft pretzel is huge with a great dipping sauce, and the chicken tenders are tasty. The milkshakes also are worth a shot. If I recall correctly, some of the sandwiches (looking at you club) were less than the best. Will definitely be back for more movie...and maybe try to new grub (or go to the Sichuan or Mexican nearby.) let's go Alamo! read more

I would give this place negative stars if I could. We came to see a 3 hour movie and the people around us kept talking. They probably talked throughout half of the movie. We rang the service people on several occasions and they talked to one of the couples once, but did not address the others. Overall I've had better experiences at regal or other theaters so this was a disappoint. We spoke to a manager and they gave us an expired movie coupon. The burger wasn't good - they kept forgetting the honey mustard we asked for. Not worth the money or time. read more

As an Alamo Pass holder, I'm at the Alamo Drafthouse in Crystal City a lot. The service is mostly smooth, the staff is friendly, and they try to keep the whole movie experience seamless. On the very rare occasions I've experienced an issue, it was handled quickly and with genuine care, which I truly appreciate. I've been eating my way through the menu, and everything has been pretty solid, thus far. I've had the chicken tenders, wings, veggie burger, vegan cauliflower bites, chocolate chip cookies, and a few drinks (is it good or bad that one of bartenders now knows me!? lol) Alamo Crystal City is truly my spot. We love an Alamo Drafthouse Cinema. We live in DC but prefer the theater in Crystal City. The theater has many special programs, along with reclining seats, a full menu and bar with wine, cocktails and beer. They also take the movie experience very seriously here with many warnings in the opening credits that if you are caught on your phone, you''ll be kindly escorted out of the theater. I love the personalized pre-movie videos that run in advance. You can tell someone is curating the selection with a sharp eye. We were a regular Alamo Drafthouse family before we moved to DC, going to the theater in downtown LA and in Austin, Texas. So we were very happy when it came to this area. read more

Parking is free after 5 PM. Bonus! Walking in, I was hit with the sheer size of the place--it's massive. Movie posters old and new line the walls like a cinematic hall of fame. There's a gift shop for the film nerds, and a bar for the pre-show sip and after show fiesta. Service? On point. The theater itself? Pure luxury. Recliner seats that rival my living room La-Z-Boy--wide, plush, and spaced out enough to give you your own little kingdom. I spotted the server station on the way in, and sure enough, they were hustling quietly and efficiently throughout the film. At your seat: a menu, a notepad, and a service button that brings the magic. The menu is stacked--apps, entrees, cocktails, desserts--you name it. I went with a crispy chicken sandwich, fries, and a margarita to wash it all down. Delivered on a sleek little tray setup with a swivel table and cupholder--everything short of silver service. Alamo Drafthouse is only a block or so away from my home in Arlington, VA. Went to see "The Odyssey" but this isn't a review of the film. It's about the concept and execution of the cinema. Love the concept. Execution isn't so good. I grew up going to the movies almost every weekend. This was new to me. Starting with the website, it's impossible to tell which theatre you're working on. I was very careful to choose the one in Arlington, VA, but apparently bought my tickets for their franchise in DC, across the river. I couldn't tell that. I'm not going to tell people how to design websites, but apparently, Alamo isn't that interested in that. The worst part for me was the refreshments situation. You can't go to the refreshments counter because there isn't one. You have to order from your seat. Fine if it works, but it doesn't. I ordered two popcorns and two sodas. One popcorn was supposed to have butter and the other was supposed to be dry. Whoever served them got them mixed up. Also our sodas never arrived and I had to ask for them twice. The onus is on the theatre to deliver stuff correctly and in good time. Or...do it the traditional way since Alamo doesn't seem to be able to get the service down. It was also very annoying that servers were in the aisles between the rows delivering food during the movie. It's not entirely a bad idea, but if Alamo insists on doing it this way, they need to look at their system. While no system is perfect, this one is below any standard even for a restaurant, let alone a movie theater. Would I go back? Probably not. I don't go to that many films and I'd prefer to enjoy my movie without being disturbed the entire time with people going back and forth. read more

I visited Alamo Drafthouse in Crystal City as part of my birthday relaxation weekend with one of my girlfriends to see I Know What You Did Last Summer. Parking was super easy, and the elevator practically drops you off right at the theater entrance which is convenient. The place has an old-school movie theater vibe, which was a change from my usual spots like iPic or Regal. Honestly, I don't even remember if anyone checked our tickets at the door...I think they checked them once we were already seated. One of the perks here is being able to order food right to your seat, which is great in theory. The menu card is already at your seat and then you have too write your order down and slide it through some thing at your table. I honestly dont know if that was for the looks/experience but it didnt seem to do anything. LOL I got a burger with fries and an alcoholic beverage. I had asked for ketchup with my meal, but it didn't come and getting it after the fact was like pulling teeth. It felt like they had to put in a ticket or make it from scratch because it took so long. By the time it finally arrived, my food was cold, which was definitely disappointing. The Crystal City Alamo is a treasured venue. I saw The Accountant 2 today, on a muggy and hot Northern Virginia Friday afternoon; all was cool and clean inside. Got a White Claw from the bar ($8.25 + tip) and brought it into the theater. An attendant promptly met me at my seat and after checking to confirm that I was in the right seat he took my order (a side of fries with extra ketchup) and was back in a flash with my order and a cup of water. I've made Alamo a go-to for a couple of years now. What makes it special for me is the presentation of archived film clips they show in the 30 minutes before the coming attractions. For today, in keeping with the tie in with the FBI in the movie, the clips were from ancient FBI training films, and a great short film called Good Cop Baby Cop. You might not see stuff like this anywhere else. You can reach the theater by taking the Blue or Yellow Metro trains to Cyrstal City and walking through the deserted mall; there's also a Metroway Bus stop across the street, which you can take from the Braddock Road Metro station. read more

Elmo had the extended release of the Frankenstein movie which was super fun to see. Their popcorn deal is pretty good, $12 for unlimited popcorn and you just need to use your card at your seat to have it delivered right to you, which was super convenient so that I didn't miss any of the movie. I was able to go to a matinee and it was very empty, which was nice but even though I had someone once eat over from me, because the seats are so big, I didn't notice at all. Being able to lean back and have my feet up was a nice Burke. They also validate parking at the parking garage right next to this entrance so I didn't have to fight for street parking or pay 20 bucks for parking in addition to my movie ticket. read more

Imagine if your couch and a luxury recliner had a baby, and that baby was gifted with perfect lumbar support. I swear, if I could sleep in one of these seats, I would. Plus, they're spaced out enough that you don't have to worry about getting an elbow in your ribs during that pivotal scene. And as for cleanliness--this place is spotless. Every time I've been, I'm amazed by how pristine the theater is. It's like a movie theater with the soul of a five-star hotel. Don't hold me to that one. I could just be lucky in this regard, but the bathrooms were pretty clean as well. I always enjoy coming to Alamo! Even though I have to travel into the city, the experience is always worth the drive. The atmosphere, service, and vibe make it a go-to spot. So I feel mislead. We purchased singalong tickets for K Pop Demon Hunters when they still had the promo that said you'd get all these extras for the big show. Which was the first show of Sat and Sunday. It said get there an hour early. So we did. And I was confused that maybe I read the time wrong. Ok. Then we get inside. No extras, no mention that there was a change. This is a lot of money for a movie we've watched at home. I feel like this was a BIG bait and switch. I only purchased these for the extras. Over $100 later and I know my son had fun even though the extras I told him about were no where to be found. This was a big let down! First and foremost, Deadpool was AMAZING!! Alamo is a different type of movie experience. The chairs are comfortable as hell and makes you fight the urge to sleep. The food is flavorful and pocket friendly. I had the nachos, buffalo wings, and carnivore pizza. I love the location and parking was free.
