Attended a Friday night game at the newly renovated stadium. The PA system was off on the visitor side. Could not hear the announcer. Is that how Alamo Hts HS treats their visiting patrons? Someone should be called on the carpet for this. We're very disappointed. read more

Harry B Orem Stadium! Home of the Alamo Heights Mules. This is a really nice stadium. The place is lit at night, when games are going on. The track is that mooshy red stuff that gives you good traction, and helps the knees. There's concessions set up at both ends of the stadium offering cheap food and drinks. The east side is the visitor's side, and the west is the Mules home side. Parking is usually pretty easy for the games. It's usually very clean, and picked up. It's a great stadium to catch a football game! Go Mules! read more

A sculpture garden surrounds the museum so there's plenty of areas to stroll and take photos. This museum resides in a gorgeous 1920s Spanish colonial revival residence built by Marion McNay. The building itself is art with its wood detailing, arches, and intricate tile ceilings and floors. The actual art collection consisted of over 20,000 items, but only some are displayed and occasionally on rotation. The collection embodied European and American art of the nineteenth century, twentieth, and twenty first centuries. Sooo much to see- paintings, special exhibits, vase collection, Angelica Raquel Mystic Threads, sculptures, and a lovely garden/pond/fountain containing koi. The museum has a gift shop, restrooms, and a special collection of art displayed by many artistic school children. My new found artist I discovered here was Carl Rice Embery. A pure Texan, his art was amazing ! Initially I thought the pieces were photographs, but up close they are actual paintings. That's how realistic they are. Simple Texan scenery. We enjoyed visiting on a weekday, it wasn't crowded and nice to walk around to see their permanent collection. They have a small gift shop but I wish they had a cafe! Maybe I missed it but I didn't see one. Worth the visit and would love to come back. They seem to have different events. Parking in their connected lot.

They have tables set up so makes it easy easy to eat and enjoy the show if you purchase a catered meal. . Ice tea and lemonade is available at no cost and there is a cash bar for wine and beer. Ken Slavin and band just put on a fantastic show. The only thing that keeps me from giving this 5 stars are the problems with some of the logistics. Hopefully these will be fixed by the second concert.

I was unable to order my tickets online. My gift cards showed a balance, but couldn't be used for checkout for unknown reasons. No worries, I'll just go with a less frequented movie that I don't wanna see as much, and wait in your lobby to order tickets for some random poor seats, like we used to do in the old-fashioned days. Once seated the gift cards can't be used to order food. For some reason, Drafthouse requires a credit card to do so within their app. But, you can leave your movie 20 minutes in, and order food from the lobby, and never see the waiter again for things such as refills on drinks or allegedly unlimited popcorn. I won't be buying Drafthouse gift cards from Costco again, because as far as I can tell, they're just some sort of Ponzi scheme to collect my credit card number, name, and other pertinent details. But, I don't think I'll be attending Drafthouse again at all, because gift cards aside their entire thing was providing you a waiter and getting your food during your movie, and they've managed to mess that up entirely.

See it on the HUGE screen! These guys have a gigantic…read moreinflatable screen that they show movies, presentations, etc. on. This is like the Imax screen of backyard inflatable movie screens. They started up setting up their equipment at La Tuna, but also set up at the Pearl, Hemisfair, SAMA, and other places around town. The city has a deal with them this summer where you can see a bunch of free movies. They were putting on a James Bond film series, every week with a different movie. When you go check out their movies, generally you can take your own blankets, food, drinks, chairs, etc. There's no bad seat in the house, since the screen is so big! I love what these guys are doing to make new use of public spaces around SA to turn any park into a movie theater! SA has so many pleasant evenings, it's a great way to get outdoors and still catch up on a movie.
