We had so much fun at this SA Missions Minor League game! They are the minor league team that feeds up to the SD Padres. Not sure about the location decision but we had fun at the game! Our kids were pulled aside after the game to get an autographed ball by one of their players which was very sweet. During the summer they have specials also on the weekdays and giveaways on certain days, similar to MLB. We went on a Tuesday during summer and the parking lot was priced at $5 as part of their special. We would love to come again! I guess Adrien Beltre from the Rangers was there for a bit of time also, we saw him on one of their players banners. So cool. They have a cute little gift shop on the lower level. read more

Went to my first game and I will say overall it was a great experience other than some little things. Got to the game a little early parking was super easy it just when we left was the headache because at night you can't see the curbs at the end so a lot of people had to turn around to figure out which one let to the actual exit I think so simple exit signs would help. Food was decent got nachos, soda and beer. Sadly my husband had gotten 2 bad beers to where he had to notify staff that the tap was no good so they had to look into it. Prices honestly hurt more than I thought it would I got a large $9 soda but they said it was $6 to refill so I decided no refills. Water was $5 I will also post the list of everything priced out. The San Antonio Missions games are so fun! My dad and I went to a Chanclas Night on a Thursday and it was the bomb! First of all, during Chanclas night there is $1 beer night ( or $3.25 for the 24oz) and you can choose from a few different beers (Ziegenbock, Bud Light, Michelob Ultra, etc etc). During Chanclas night, they also have $1 hot dogs, which is a pretty amazing deal for big families. The prices of tickets are also super affordable, and I was really shocked at how good the seats were for the price. The team did great during the game and the energy in the stadium was amazing. They also have a few comedy moments for the people that are not so into baseball like the Mom Jalapeno and Kid Jalapeno. At a point during the game, we also saw a dancing puffy taco (LOL!). The tickets here are so cheap that I was worried our seats would be horrible and we wouldn't be able to see anything. Turns out the stadium is so tiny that there's not a bad seat in the house! They even have a lawn where you can bring a picnic blanket or lawn chairs to watch and the viewing isn't too bad from there either. That area is perfect for kids because they can still run around and play catch. Parking is five dollars and haven't had trouble leaving the parking lot, it's usually quick and easy in and out. They have chicken on a stick! All food and drink vendors close seventh inning (not just alcohol). Check online for their events calendar. They have dollar beer nights, bring your dog nights, fireworks sometimes, and even themed nights such as Star Wars. Great, cheap entertainment for the whole family! read more

The Mission is a fun fun fun and inexpensive way to have an enjoyable evening of watching baseball. The first game I went to I got to participate in the tricycle race. I did not win (2nd place) but it was lots of fun, even when the players dumped ice water on me as I raced past the dugout. They do lots of fun things involving fans during the between inning breaks. The concession stands are reasonably priced. They have sodas and some adult beverages that are priced well too. They have some great options for groups too, both large and small. The San Antonio Missions games are always such a great and fun night out with a significant other or with your family! We like to take advantage of the $2 seats & parking on Tuesdays and the kiddos really enjoy being able to get out and watch a game of baseball! We like to sit out on the lawn (the berm) with the kiddos and this is where a lot of large groups/families end up which I actually really prefer. We bring our own lawn chairs and set-up, then we go and roam around the stadium. We always let our kids take a turn on the "spin the wheel" game and it benefits the Missions stadium plus the kids have a really fun time. Since we go on $2 Tuesdays, we take advantage of the $2 parking, seats, sausage wraps, and beers. It ends up being a cheap-ish night out with the family! These games are always a blast- they have a different promotion going on nearly every home game, from Dollar Night, to fireworks, to free stuff giveaways- there's always a reason to go check out the game! I love the fact that they have stuff going on between the pitches, between the innings, during the chats with the base coaches, you name it! Pick your night - $2 Tuesday or $1 nights on Thursday are going to draw a larger crowd, so if you want GOOD seats, either buy online, or go on a less crowded night. If you show up on a crowded night with no ticket, you're going to be sitting in the outfield grass. On a Wednesday night, you could basically sit right behind home plate with no problem. As for the baseball - the Missions are actually pretty good this year, and AA ball is fun to watch simply for the purity of the baseball experience. If you're a baseball purist, I'd say that (from my own experience) the game experience has the same vibe as Cape Cod summer ball in NE. Most expensive seat in the house is only $14, which is the same price as a single hot dog and a beer. Either the food is overpriced, or the tickets are underpriced. Probably a little of both ... not a lot of "specialty" foods outside of the concession stands. Parking is $5, which seems a little excessive. read more

People either love or hate baseball. I love it. I love the fact that it isn't non-stop action as it affords me the opportunity to chat with friends, keep score in my book, and take in the amusing anecdotes and factoids by the announcers. It's a pleasant way to spend a lazy afternoon or evening and it brings me back to when I was a kid sitting in the stands and wishing for a foul ball to come my way. The Missions play at Wolff Stadium which is very easy to get to and parking is just $5! The place is never too crowded so getting in and out is a breeze and I have never really encountered a long line. The games offer up games and activities between innings and they really get the crowd involved. I always see fans getting balls and cards signed prior to the game. Both teams toss balls to the fans between innings so buy a seat near the dugouts along the baselines. If there's one thing that every venue takes advantage of it having fans with no options other than purchasing from them. No outside food or drink is allowed. As a result, I paid $5 for an iced tea! TEA! Tap water and a tea bag... I have no doubt that my $5 was enough to pay for all the tea, sweet and unsweet, sold during the game. Come one guys! I think their $1 night is Thursday. Check their website to be sure. Anyway, this is a great was to spend an evening. Fireworks after every Saturday night game! read more

I clearly remember the first time I saw "The Wolff". It was the fall of 1995 & I had just moved to San Antonio from England. As I cruised by on Highway 90 I knew that I couldn't wait for the next spring so that I could get to know what was at that time "The Jewel of the Texas League". I ended up being a season ticket holder for four seasons & if I had the time, I'd still be one today. That was nearly 16 years ago and the stadium is certainly showing its age. That's not to say that it's not a great place to spend an evening, it is. But it's no longer the best park in the Texas League. Compared to the baseball shrines in Corpus Christi, Frisco & Round Rock (formerly of the Texas League), the Wolff is left wanting. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles that come with a new facility. The big screen & replay system are mediocre at best. The seats are great if you have a straight on view of home plate. So avoid picking something too far down either baseline. The food is fairly standard, nothing to set itself out from any other sporting venue. While the food that's available is always tasty & fresh, it is rather generic. If they asked me, I'd suggest bringing in a different taco or food truck every night. Park it out on the berm past left field and make sure that people know about it. Now for the good. The stadium has always had a great family feel. From Stan Kelly's voice on the PA to the best mascot in all of sports, The Puffy Taco, any night is a good night when you can spend it at the Wolff. So by all means go to a game, or 12, but know that this is a pretty simple ballpark. The biggest thrill will be available on the field, and maybe that's the way that it should be. read more

I can't picture a better way to spend an evening than at a sporting event, drinking beer, hanging out with my friends. I've spent many, many evenings at Missions games and had a blast every time. I love that this ball club puts forth a huge effort to make these games fun. From Family Days to Dollar Nights (yes, $1 beers!) there's always something to make a drive here worth your while. The stadium is nice and clean, and most of it stays pretty well shaded. People that work here and friendly and helpful. The crowd usually stays cool and calm, making this a good choice for family, but it's perfectly acceptable to enjoy some of their cold beers on draft (including some local brews - woo!) And, the food is really good for stadium food. Although to be fair, I love me some hot dogs and nachos with fake cheese and jalapenos. But who doesn't?! read more

Had to come watch a game while they were in town (Okc Triple a affiliate) came on a Thursday night "chancla night" parking is $5.00 and since it was Thursday night it was $1 hot dogs and beer. We bought lawn seats since we brought our 6 month son. Lawn seats were $8 . Grass is full of ants and little bugs, we laid out a blanket for him to roll around bad idea. Luckily we brought big spray. Went to the Missions game last night. I wanted to show my son a good time doing something different. The stadium was beautiful. Family fun at its finest. The Missions played the team from Midland (and beat the snot out of them). The parking lines were long but they moved quick. The line at the box office was pretty slow by the i90 entrance. The box office by 3rd base moved alot faster. The lines for refreshments were SUPER LONG and slow moving (the register lost power and our cashier was running around helping everyone but us). Items are overpriced as usual at sporting events but they were tasty. I spent more than i anticipated (i wanted to spend $30 but i was closer to $50, for 3 people total). We had very good frito pies, powerade, large soda, bottled water, skittles candy and 2 sausage wraps (later we got another soda and a delicious funnel cake). The crowd was well behaved inspite of all the beer flowing. No arguements or cursing in the stands. Just family fun. I will definitely be back for another game. My son had a good time so all the overpriced snacks were worth it. Thank you Missions. read more

Holy Macaroni! 26-5? 26-5? I don't think I've ever been to a ballgame that had that big a blowout! And I'm a Pirates fan too! 26-5? Well at least the Missions were happy. The North West Arkansas Naturals....ah not so much. Well anyway my friend Rachel and I were in San Antonio on a business trip and we thought we'd take in a ballgame. Nelson Wolff Stadium is a nice ballpark but the seating is a little odd. You've got bench seating down the lines. Between first and third you've got upper and lower boxes. And above the upper boxes, you've got upper reserved seats. That's where Rachel and I sat and believe me, the bench seating ain't all that comfortable. That's what we get for being cheapskates! A couple of other small complaints too. The ballpark is in the middle of nowhere and they charge $5.00 for parking here. But the view from the seats is terrific. The people here are really friendly and the food is good and reasonably priced too. Gotta have a hotdog at the game and I judge a ballpark on how good the encased meats are. Still, 26-5? read more

Such an inexpensive fun outing. I recommend $2 Tuesdays. The $2 sausage wraps are warm and tasty (unlike the $1 Thursday cold and yukky hotdogs). Plus $2 beer (including top brands like Modelo) and $2 parking. Highlight for me was the funnel cake. Hubby asked them to load the sugar for me and they DID (plus cinnamon). What a fun little stadium. We went last week on a Wednesday during military appreciation games. My husband is the baseball fan and was so excited when he learned Trevor Hoffman was affiliated with the Missions - the guy was nice enough to take a pic w/ my husband. We had metal seats along 3rd base - plenty of balls came our way; it'd be fun for families to catch one! Next time we'll bring gloves. The seats were 100% uncomfortable. They don't even face the direction of the field so you have to sit crooked, making it difficult to lean against the back. Also due to this, kids who insist on standing made it quite difficult to see - fortunately it was pretty empty and we ended up moving. Staff would only make the kids sit if they'd lean on the wall. Pay a few bucks extra to get the regular seats but not as many balls will come your way. Beer/food stands are easy to find & access. Bathrooms are huge and clean. Parking was $5. They have fireworks on some nights and every Thursday is $1 beer night. read more

Focusing strictly on the baseball park would have elicited a 4-star rating. However three issues resulted in my 2-star rating: 1) The food is horrible ... outside of popcorn, peanuts, and crackerjacks, the food quality borders on inedible. Given the low quality, the majority of food items are severely overpriced, 2) The parking fee is severely overpriced as well, and 3) Lke most public venues in San Antonio, the management of Wolfe Stadium appear to be clueless concerning organizing rideshare passenger pick-up. Apparently, they attended the same logistics as did management from AT&T Stadium, Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center, and the Alamodome. They should follow the example of the SA Airport. read more

Baseball is not my favorite sport. At all. Not even close. I love Dollar Night at Wolff Stadium though! Going to a Missions game was money well spent. $10.50 got me a great seat. A handful of $1 bills got me a tray of hot dogs and some good beer! On Dollar Night, the bbq place has a special on their sandwiches. $2 for bbq sandwich is a great deal! Parking at Wolff is $5. Not too bad. The crowd is great. Its so fun to root for the Missions with fellow San Antonio sport lovers. Henry the Puffy taco will make appearances throughout the night as will Ballapeno and Ballapeno Jr. The games in between innings make for great entertainment when the team isn't on the field. Watch for foul balls! There were lots of them at the Midland Rockhounds game. Watching everyone scramble for foul balls was my favorite part of the experience. I like taking my dad here so we can watch some baseball together. This is not the major leagues with a fancy stadium but it is still a nice comfortable stadium. Tickets are really cheap, even in the front rows. You have to pay $5 to park so bring cash. They have a lot of promotional nights like dollar nights (beer, hotdogs, sodas, etc.), fireworks, military appreciation, $2 night, lottery night, and many many more promos. Found the lawn section pretty neat considering we have a four year old who can't stay still so she was able to run around with other kiddos and not be a bother to the people around while the adults watched the game! My family and I went to a game last night...the first in a while for me (I used to be a season ticket holder). It was the standard baseball fun, but the team was so terrible it just made the night drag on. We ended up leaving early since we were in the section with the wives/girlfriends of the players and they were getting annoying. The San Antonio missions play at Wolf stadium which is very enjoyable for the amount of square feet that it occupies. Very well-designed, gives you such a great feel from it almost as if you had an amusement park. There's a good amount of restaurants and treat stations, something for everyone. I had one of the pulled brisket Frito pies (it was amazing by the way!). The beer is reasonably priced just as the food is. Parking is just $5 and tickets are only $10.! Check out the souvenir shop, gifts are very reasonably priced everyone should leave with something to remember the great experience of the games! read more
