Brian Budil - State Farm Insurance Agent

Avoid at all costs. Deceptive and untrustworthy…read more The only positive point in our experience with State Farm was when they were pitching us the plans. From there is went downhill quickly. We signed up for Auto Insurance, Classic Auto Insurance, and a renters policy. After we signed the papers and paid the premium... 1st: we received a phone call from office stating that we did not qualify for a discount previously agreed too, the premium went up over $100 a year. This should have been enough and we should have backed out at this time. Bait and switch anyone? 2nd: at the time of writing and signing the policy my wife's Drivers License was expired. This was not a problem when they are taking your money. We received another call asking if it was expired and telling us we need to come in and show the new one. We had it renewed but did not get a chance to come in to the office, no time limit was set on this request. 3rd: One of the auto policies was sold to us as "unlimited mileage" and in fact we received a phone call stating that it was, in fact, a limited mileage policy. I double checked with the agent (name: Noe) that this was unlimited mileage before signing the paper. When I asked what the limit was, he could not tell me. I told him to find out and call me back. I called him three times, he was always not available, and never returned my calls. The fourth time I spoke with the manager. What Insurance company does not return your calls? why can't you tell me what the mileage restriction is? Why wasn't this disclosed at the time of the policy signing? She stated that she was sorry, the mileage limit was 2500 a YEAR. she did offer to change the policy to unlimited, it would ONLY cost DOUBLE the premium! no thank you I said. She said she would have Noe call me, he never did (surprise surprise). 4th: Today we get a letter from State Farm stating the policy is canceled because of an unacceptable risk, I turned right at a stop sign and got a ticket, and they cannot find ANY record of a VALID drivers license for my wife... She has a valid drivers license, they stated they cannot find it going through the secretary of state. I call bullsh!t on this. It is truly sad. We THOUGHT that going through a local business (or at least office) with local people working we were doing a good thing, and we THOUGHT that the policies we were buying were sold to us truthfully. In fact, the Agent was eager to sell us policies he either: -Did not understand and just wanted his commission or -Did understand it, sold us on a bait and switch, and tried to pull a scam. Either way it is crappy. When we sit down, I ask questions and you answer them, we agree, shake hands, and exchange money, IT IS DONE, OVER, the DEAL HAS BEEN MADE. Coming back to the table, changing the rules, and asking for more money is textbook slime-ball sleaze sales. Harsh but true. These are not PEOPLE I would expect anyone to do business with. I have friends that I discovered (after i paid) go through this office for insurance. They said the SAME BS went with them. I will be pushing everyone I know, meet, or otherwise come across to NOT USE STATE FARM for any insurance, anytime, under any circumstances. The ONE value you NEED in your insurance company is TRUST and these people deserve NONE. I will be going back to Progressive, the not local, internet based company that I TRUST.

So far, one star is about 5 stars too many. Enrolled online…read more Options were "basic",and"Classic". Site said it was usable immediately. I got the membership with promo for $35. I went to use it, but they wanted a membership number from an email that they never sent me. Then they wanted to charge me another $76 for membership because I have a motorcycle. The phone rep said that it would still be ready to use that day yet when I went to use it, another rep informed me that I'd have to pay another $60 to use it immediately, or wait until monday to use it. Now it's monday, their app is requiring a user ID which they never gave me, and their phone reps are telling me I can't use it until tomorrow. So far the membership has bought me nothing but hassle and stinks like a scam. ** Update: took over 20 min to get refund. I enrolled with Good Sam with more coverage, 1/2 the price, and shorter waiting period for it to go into effect.

AVOID AAA INSURANCE. MY EXPERIENCE WITH AAA AUTO INSURANCE…read moreAFTER 20+ YEARS OF BEING INSURED BY THEM. I had never made a claim with AAA yet recently after leaving my car lights on the car would not start. Since I Pay AAA Insurance for Road Side Assistance, I contacted them. Road Side assistance did show up with a van full of batteries to sell. I explained that my car only needed a jump start. The tech proceeded to tell me all the reasons why I should replace my battery. After much to do he brought out his battery booster kit for jump starting cars. It did not start the car and he said it was because my battery had been drained of too much power. Because I was not going to purchase a new battery, HE LEFT. Yes AAA rode side service left me stranded. I called a friend and without a problem we jump started my car. Four months later that same battery continues to start my car every day. Afterwards trying to deal with AAA regarding this situation was always the same "I'm sorry this should not of happened. Please call back and ask for xxxx department for assistance." After hours on the phone with AAA I was told that the tech followed company procedures. AAA was ok that I was left stranded since I didn't want to buy a unnecessary new battery from them. Imagine how AAA would handle a claim if my home had a fire or my car was in an accident. I don't need to find out, I already know how AAA handles claims. There are plenty of other companies that sell reputable insurance.
