The shuttle driver forgot to pick us up! When I called to see where he was, about 15 minutes past the scheduled pick up time, Simer was rude and short with me. She said "be patient he is coming." She never called him to check and lied about it. What kind of shuttle service does not have a proper dispatch system to make sure all the guests are accounted for?! I was patient and the shuttle still never came, so when I called back that's when Simer realized he forgot to pick us up. She had to dispatch a new shuttle from Kamloops and when this one finally arrived we had to experience a terrifying drive as he sped down the road to try to make our flight. Overall, we waited an hour and 45 minutes for them to pick us up. After the fact, I had multiple phone calls with Simer to rectify the situation and she kept giving me the run around. They only gave me $15 dollars back...that was not worth the stress we had to go through as we had multiple flights that day to try to make!

The answer was "as far as I know, yes". This was important to us because we wanted to relax and there's nothing else to do there. In fact it was one of the main reasons we booked. We get to the place and the cabin was cute. Prefabricated but not too bad. Ok. Doable. We go to use the steam room and there's a paper sign on the door with a plastic cover that's worn and very evident it's been sitting there a very long time. It said Out of order. In fact, other people told us the steam room wasnt working which is why we asked. So now we see it's clearly not working. We then take the cover off the hot tub and the water was half full and it was green and not from chlorine. It smelled like it was about to start smelling like a pond. I called the property manager and he met us there and told us the steam room broke down just that day. Ya right! I'm sure they tell this to everyone and I'm not impressed with the dishonesty. I then told him the hot tub was half full and needed more water and he acted annoyed telling me it was up to the line it's supposed to be. I told him I've been dealing with hot tubs going on 20 years and it's nowhere near full. He seemed quite annoyed, impersonal and acting like we were being a nuisance by asking. No public relations or politeness at all. He said he'd add water. We went back and attempted to use it but it was simply too dirty and smelly which makes our trip suck because the website makes it look like it had a fancy steam room and hot tub. So then our guest attempts to use the cable weights and they were so old, used and rusty that the cable instantly snapped and broke nearly tearing his peck right out. The weights were very old and rusty. It wasn't kept at all. Bring your own pillows because cabin 4 has flat pillows that are brutal. They supply 1 sheet and dinky blanket that won't work well so you may want to bring extra blankets and the bed we had was a cheap mattress extremely uncomfortable and wobbly. We were worried it was going to break. I gave it a 2 star because I won't totally knock the place because the cabins are individually owned and maybe the other ones are better and maybe maintenance will be on top of things in the summer season and fix things so I will most likely try staying there again but in a different cabin when I'm back in town shopping for real estate and if things are fixed I'll update my review as the place most certainly does have potential if it was kept up properly and the caretaker was a bit more friendly. The lady on the phone was really nice who took the booking but I'm not happy I was lied too about the steam room. If you have back injuries the beds in cabin 4 are unacceptable. You'll be up at 3 am and won't be able to get back to sleep. The broom was broken making it difficult to clean the cabin especially when you have to clean it when you leave. The toaster only half of it worked. Only half the burners on the stove partially worked. The bulb was burned out above the stove making it dark to cook at night. Basically the maintenance isn't being kept up at all. We ended up driving into town to buy our own pillows because the ones they had were so bad we got no sleep. We can't use the gym, hot tub or steam room which is the main reason we booked. The website was misleading. The lake is also on the opposite side of the highway. The cabins are on a pond they are not on the lake which we thought they were.

The continuation of Lougheed Highway = Highway #7, is a right turn at the junction of Harrison Hot Springs and Agassiz, and a left turn at the junction with the highway off to the right into Agassiz, BC, continues on to Hope. A lovely scenic route that we have enjoyed often. The rest stop itself, is located off to the left of the highway, about 3/4 of the way to Hope. It's a large pull off area, that can accommodate several large and smaller-sized vehicles, and offers washrooms, and a row of nicely-spaced picnic tables, for those who wish to get out of their vehicles for a while. For us last week, it was the perfect spot for a stop to get out of the car, move around a little, use the washrooms, and sit and enjoy a cold drink before heading on to Manning Provincial Park. As before via other stops, we found the location very well-maintained -- the large and spacious washrooms equipped and clean, the site, and its tables neat and tidy.

If you don't want to walk, you can drive and park by the front office lot. Showerhouse: super clean, warm, spacious, flush toilets, hot showers, tap to fill up on water as the rustic cabins don't have running water. Rustic cabins: Full size fridge, oven, gas stove, electricity, wood stove (for heat). 7A doesn't have extra outlets so we had to unplug the oven to charge cell phones etc. Fully stocked with plates/bowls/cutlery/pots/pans/paper towels/dish soap. Bring your own bedding and food. Fishing is a love/hate relationship - its a bit of a tricky lake to get a hang of but the regulars love it and come back every year. Might want to have at least AWD coming in as its quite hilly and snowy but we did peep a civic parked at the front office lot. Richard/Debbie and the crew are very friendly and helpful.

Restaurant: We came here for dinner and while I forget exactly what the dish was called it was a spaghetti in a nice light sauce with chicken and garlic bread, along with some soup. We also came in the morning (they include a coupon for a "free continental breakfast" or 10% off any food). The free continental breakfast isn't really a whole breakfast... you can pick two items. Our coffee was fine, my muffin was pretty good, and my friends toast was apparently fine. But calling that a breakfast is pushing it... Regardless, the service was good and the pricing was reasonable. Also a 4/5.
