He did a fantastic job of clearing out the dead branches and thinning the limbs just enough. I also have a Chinese Pistache tree that was very heavy. This is a difficult tree to trim as it is very easy to create large gaps in the canopy due to the spread of one limb. Miguel did a fantastic job. The canopy is even and beautifully trimmed. We had only contracted for these 2 trees, but he was doing such great work that asked if he had more time to complete 3 oak trees, 3 strawberry arbutus, 1 podacarpus and remove 1 smaller Japanese maple. We hired him to remove two ill trees, for $2800 with him leaving some of the good wood behind for firewood. The rest was to be taken away as it turned out to be termites in the wood. He did the job quickly and mostly cleaned up after himself. (There was lunch trash and other things left around). However, immediately after leaving, he dumped the debris he was paid to remove in multiple small piles all down nearby properties and the county road. He pushed several large logs and piles over the hillside of the county road also. When confronted, he blamed it on an employee who "doesn't work for him anymore" and came back to pick up what he was able to. He has not provided me a business license number after multiple requests in writing and by voicemail. He also has not responded to requests for a refund for the dump fees he pocketed. Understandably, the neighbors are upset and so am I. I hate leaving very bad reviews until it is really deserved and this is egregious.

We have an African Sumac in front and a Narrow Leaf Ash in the backyard, both overdue for thinning and shaping. The ash also needed a crown reduction. The crew arrived exactly on time and got set up fast. The African Sumac is a messy, fast growing tree. It gives us valuable summer shade, so I wanted to keep it rather than remove it, but it is high maintenance. It shoots new growth everywhere, drops leaves all season, and its roots threaten the walkway and the lawn. It had also been neglected and pruned poorly by our gardener, which made things worse. The Skylake team removed the unwanted growth, balanced the limbs, and cleaned out the cluttered, crossing branches. The tree finally looks right again.
