Called Lorenzo out for a project in my backyard to cut down a dying tree and to grind the stump. My fence door was too narrow so he told me to call him the day my fence can be taken down. Took down the tree in a few hours and after a week, call him again for the stump grinding which he said would only take 30 mins. I had a bit of an emergency with my tall palm suddenly dropping all the dead fronds that I had been reserving for birds' nests. For four weeks in a row, we had to pick up fronds to clear our cul de sac, pack our green recycling bin full, then start all over again after trash pick up. The last winds and rain took down so many palms that we had a huge stack up against the garage. This made it clear that we could no longer keep up. I wrote a rave review in 2022, about the work Lorenzo's company did on my Atlas Cedar. This tree, by the way, no longer even moves when the wind blows, yet it looks so natural and gorgeous. I didn't even know if Lorenzo would trim a palm, since they do such highly-skilled, artistic work on conifers. But I texted him anyway. While I waited for him to get back to me, I got a few (astronomical) bids from yelp companies, who wanted more to remove dead fronds than Lorenzo had charged to lace the Cedar. I was about to hire one because I really needed this to get done before bird nesting season. When Lorenzo got back to me in the evening with a bid less than half the price of the others, AND said he could come the next day, well, that was it for me. There were about 200 fronds on the palm, and about 50 more on my driveway. The crew arrived an hour early, made quick work of all of it and even took the ones that I had already put into my green bin. I thought they would bring a lift, but no, they climbed the palm with chain saws, despite the serrated fronds. Last winter, our flat roof started caving due to heavy rains. We suspected a large tree in our yard was the cause as it was growing over the roof. We hired Lorenzo to cut back the tree away from the roof and requested photos of roof to assess condition. He did the job quickly but sent no pictures. Two months later with evidence of ceiling beams cracking, we discovered the gutters were clogged with lots of tree debris turning the roof into a swimming pool and causing the weight and damage to roof. We have some 14 trees on our property. After some recent wind events we decided to trim the trees before something untoward happened. Lorenzo responded quickly when we reached out. He came by to inspect the property and provided good advise on the best way to trim the trees. He also noted how one of the non-fruiting pear trees had been improperly trimmed in the past which caused some issues. He noted some of the issues with trimming of cypress trees and how trimming aggressively could create problems which would not grow out.
