Jarrett said if I had more than two eyes I would certainly have him do my cataract surgery every time.

Not sure his name, but he kept raising his voice, almost threatening. [10:15ish] I came on time for the appointment but the door was locked. I knocked multiple times. [10:21] I was let in the waiting area, checked in. [10:45] this guy, working under the doctor, tells me I came in at 11:26. Late. And I'm looking at my watch thinking, man is this guy in the future? So I corrected him, his voice raises. So I ask again, what time did I come in? [to be continued]. It's 11 o clock, still have yet to see the doctor. ===EDIT/UPDATE=== [continued... @~11:15am] Dr Manning threw a Hail Mary ftw. I'm already otw out of the building. Touchdown. Hence 5 stars all along. ‍ ‍ I would finish the story aforementioned but... as one wise person may or may not say ... Hashtag zeroToleranceForIncompetence ™. Sincerely, -- ™ pending ‍

When I had to switch insurances they let me know ahead of time that the government wouldn't pay for the fee to write me a prescription. I ultimately chose to keep my glasses I had so I didn't need to get that done. BTW they told me about that charge on the phone before my appointment was confirmed. I have received glasses at the shop in the office and the service was fairly professional. The glasses were of decent quality seeing as the frames were free, covered by insurance. They have lasted 2 years now. I like that they have in the past billed me later after the insurance was billed. The staff has forwarded the report without much trouble to my personal care physician. I really feel that they care and are worth going to even with a 3.5 drive there. They were willing to schedule my fiancé and my appointment at the same time since we live 3.5 hours away. They have provided great customer service and I feel his advice is very competent.

He knew he had done it because he put in a stitch but did not mention it to me. Imagine my surprise when I took off the patch and had complete darkness. A specialist did repair it with a vitrectomy surgery but Dr Yanklelove did not handle his mistake professionally. Save yourself from future issues, stay away from this doctor. And why do we still have to pay for surgeries that are not successful?!

I wish I could give Dr. Stavis MORE than five stars…read more Our daughter (4 years old) suffered from strabismus in both eyes. One of her eyes was misaligned at all times, most of the time both were "crossed" to some degree. We initially took her to a physician in Austin, but sought out Dr. Stavis for a second opinion. We wife is in the healthcare industry and got his name from a nurse that has worked in the OR for many years, and with him in surgery. Dr. Stavis detected muscle weakness and torsion issues with our daughter's eyes that the physician in Austin missed entirely. We were able to obtain a complete treatment of our daughter's issues (corrections for misalignment and torsion) with both eyes in a single surgery. His follow-up after the surgery was excellent (we had at least three follow-up appointments). That was three years ago, and our our daughter is still doing great. Dr. Stavis is a character - by that I mean he's engaging, energetic, likes to tell stories, and likes to talk about surgery techniques. Anyone can tell he loves his work and his patients. My wife and I, and our daughter, will always be thankful for his help. He truly changed our lives in a wonderful way.

I am 43 years old and the reason I had it done so late was because of what many people fear which is cost, procedure and mainly didn't think it was possible to correct my vision at my age. Before I had the procedure done I did my due diligence and research about what I could do for my eyes, after months of research I found Dr. Monte Stavis. When I first walked in the door I was greeted by Melissa which by the way is a wonderful fun person in her own right she made me feel comfortable and right at home. She took care of me and gave me information about how things were going to be and never faltered. What she said and how she said it just makes you feel at ease. As it turns out it was a shock to me that it went exactly as she said, so Thank you Melissa. She then introduced me to Dr. Stavis. When I first met him he made me feel safe and right at home, I mean who does this now a days. His bed side manner so to speak is amazing I never felt like I was there for any other reason than to be taken care of the right way. He did all the test and knew exactly what was wrong and how to fix the problem. He then went on to explain everything in detail and when I mean detail I mean detail. He also went on to explain how the procedure would go and sure enough the day of my surgery it went exactly how he had said. I just want to say... THANK YOU SO MUCH, Dr. Stavis you and Melissa are the best and you both have not only changed my life for the better I now have a better appreciation for what you do, not only for me but for others as well. The passion I saw in what you do and how you treat others was a sight to see. You always made me laugh and had my wife laughing all the way home each time we left your office. You made us feel at home and not ever did I feel like I wasn't in the right hands for this procedure you truly are an amazing person, and I will always be grateful to you for changing my life for the better. My self esteem, confidence are now intact. Once again... Thank you Cosme Venzor

I have had the pleasure of knowing Dr. Stavis for almost 17 years. My daughter was born with…read morestrabismus/accomodative esotropia (aka "lazy eye") and when it appeared her eyes were not going to straighten themselves, her pediatrician referred us to Dr. Stavis. Dr. Stavis' office is very kid-friendly, featuring a big wooden playhouse with a slide right in the waiting area. Children's books abound, and every child gets to pick a small toy out of a treasure chest when you are checking out. Staff is wonderful-kind, concerned, and easy to work with. Dr. Stavis is not only personable, but a leading expert in the field of pediatric opthamology and a cool guy (if memory serves, he plays in a jazz band!). Our first visit occured when my daughter was 18 months old; Dr. Stavis did a thorough exam, and prescribed glasses and patching (to force the non-patched eye to straighten up) in an effort to avoid surgery. He also gave us a cute little book I could read to my daughter about a mouse who needs glasses, LOL. My daughter ended up having three surgeries performed to correct her eyes, at ages 3, 6, and 10, but Dr. Stavis tried all other available treatments before resorting to surgery. Believe me, there is nothing scarier than watching your child being wheeled away to surgery and knowing someone is operating on her eyes...but knowing that someone was Dr. Stavis made it easier. Her eyes are now straight and her vision good thanks to Dr. Stavis. Of all the other parents I've spoken to over the years in his waiting area, none have had anything negative to say. They were all overwhelmingly positive, including some parents I met who were so pleased with their kids' results that they were planning surgery themselves, with Dr. S. I highly, highly recommend him should your child need an opthamologist.
