Chandler Manning is a an acute, amazing doctor. Unfortunately, his staff, not so much…read more I'd explain further, but I've already today spent enough energy re-explaining something blatantly obvious to one of his staff members, and I'd prefer not to repeat myself (again). Not sure his name, but he kept raising his voice, almost threatening. [10:15ish] I came on time for the appointment but the door was locked. I knocked multiple times. [10:21] I was let in the waiting area, checked in. [10:45] this guy, working under the doctor, tells me I came in at 11:26. Late. And I'm looking at my watch thinking, man is this guy in the future? So I corrected him, his voice raises. So I ask again, what time did I come in? [to be continued]. It's 11 o clock, still have yet to see the doctor. ===EDIT/UPDATE=== [continued... @~11:15am] Dr Manning threw a Hail Mary ftw. I'm already otw out of the building. Touchdown. Hence 5 stars all along. ‍ ‍ I would finish the story aforementioned but... as one wise person may or may not say ... Hashtag zeroToleranceForIncompetence ™. Sincerely, -- ™ pending ‍

It incessantly repeats the name and when you finally get through they say oh no! We have to try and connect you. It took me more than 20 minutes of being on the phone with repeated transfers resulting in hang ups on Berkeley's end to schedule my eye exam. I'm sure they lose a lot of potential appointments this way. This is no reflection on my eye doctor, she is nice, but their process is not customer centric and it's not worth the hassle on every appointment. I have been going to the Katy Freeway location.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Dr. Stavis for almost 17 years. My daughter was born with…read morestrabismus/accomodative esotropia (aka "lazy eye") and when it appeared her eyes were not going to straighten themselves, her pediatrician referred us to Dr. Stavis. Dr. Stavis' office is very kid-friendly, featuring a big wooden playhouse with a slide right in the waiting area. Children's books abound, and every child gets to pick a small toy out of a treasure chest when you are checking out. Staff is wonderful-kind, concerned, and easy to work with. Dr. Stavis is not only personable, but a leading expert in the field of pediatric opthamology and a cool guy (if memory serves, he plays in a jazz band!). Our first visit occured when my daughter was 18 months old; Dr. Stavis did a thorough exam, and prescribed glasses and patching (to force the non-patched eye to straighten up) in an effort to avoid surgery. He also gave us a cute little book I could read to my daughter about a mouse who needs glasses, LOL. My daughter ended up having three surgeries performed to correct her eyes, at ages 3, 6, and 10, but Dr. Stavis tried all other available treatments before resorting to surgery. Believe me, there is nothing scarier than watching your child being wheeled away to surgery and knowing someone is operating on her eyes...but knowing that someone was Dr. Stavis made it easier. Her eyes are now straight and her vision good thanks to Dr. Stavis. Of all the other parents I've spoken to over the years in his waiting area, none have had anything negative to say. They were all overwhelmingly positive, including some parents I met who were so pleased with their kids' results that they were planning surgery themselves, with Dr. S. I highly, highly recommend him should your child need an opthamologist.
