Everyone's a coward about something -- and in my case -- it's dentists. But then there's Dr. Galina Zhukova -- principal at Paramus Dental. Formerly a Soviet era gynecologist in her native Russia -- now an oral surgeon and Professor of dentistry at NYU -- she has the gentlest hands in the business. Makes sense. :) Over the past couple of years Dr. Z has remade my mouth and smile -- with gentle persuasion -- and has cured me of my ddsophobia (mostly). Her practice is state of the art as are her skills. She also oozes urbanity and sophistication -- which is a real plus for an inveterate blowhard like me. I need to practice my listening skills generally -- not much choice in "the chair" really -- and Dr. Z makes it easy because she is interesting, well traveled and informative. A pleasant reprieve from the drone of the drill. Hard to get a quick appointment -- they go fast -- but oh so worth it. I found pricing to be fair for the market -- priceless really if your teeth need a rescue like mine did. Now I can more fully enjoy the textural pleasures of eating out and then yelping about it. Artisha is also wonderful if you're there for a retainer or mouth guard scan. And the cherry on top is how clean the office is. Esthetics is very important to me and River Edge gets an A+! I had been treated by Marijana for all of my previous visits. This past week Dr. Tsimis installed a crown...a normally involved procedure requiring two visits. He treated the damaged tooth, measured and prepped me in 45 minutes. To my amazement one half hour later my new crown was ready and perfectly fit to my satisfaction. They now have the technology to fabricate a permanent crown. I think it is awesome. Bravo to Dr. Marlen, Dr. Tsimis and the entire staff!
